No one can curse whom God has blessed, but we can bring forth a curse upon ourselves if we sin against God. Balaam was trying to curse Israel but they brought a curse upon themselves as in Numbers 25 when they slept with the daughters of Moab and yoked themselves to Baal. That angered God and those who yoked themselves were hung and a plague was brought forth against Israel killing 24,000.

God can also curse you because of your disobedience, lack of fear of God, withholding what belongs to Him, calling good what is evil in His eyes, doing things that He said not to do because “you” think it is ok to do so based on your own understanding, not God’s. I have experienced this. Please be aware that God knows more about our hearts than we do.

I don’t believe where cursed in a sense of someone can place curses on us due to us being in Christ but i do believe some curses are still intact due to us being fallen, like man shall work the ground until he dies and women shall have hard time child bearing and she shall have the desire to rule over her husband but he will rule over her.. in a sense this still happens today especially in todays time women want to control their men and men work till they die but in some cases God is merciful and some men and women never have to work hard a day in their life and like my mother having birth was easy for her she had 12 of us …and every other curse is placed on us because of our disobedience and lack of knowledge not necessarily not because of some mysticism or superstition

There can be and usually are consequences for our foolish actions, even for believers, but this is talking about supernatural, demonic powers. God has the infinite power to stop anything and anyone and no demonic power has effect on someone who is protected by God. Job was protected by God, as God saw that he lived a life of righteousness, not that he was saved by his own righteousness, but that he lived a life where he was mindful of God and tried to do the right thing. Satan was only able to have power over Job`s life when God allowed it. We have the Holy Spirit living in us and we are the stones of Gods temple(1Cor 3:16)(2 Tim 1:14)(1 Peter 2:5). We are intimately connected to God through His Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our redemption(John 17:22-23) (Eph 1:13-14). God will not share His temple with demons, nor let His temple be defiled by them(1 Cor3:16-17). We are a Holy Priesthood and Jesus Christ is our High Priest(Hebrews 12 and 13). God must love us intensely and is a jealous God(Exodus 20:5). No unclean spirit is going to defile His bride (Revelation 19:6 - 9, 22:17). I mean the true bride that has grace through faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob(Ephesians 2:8-9)(Mathew 22:32). God bless.

Christians can commit rebellion against God and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and Christians who continually practice witchcraft are cursed.

It’s incorrect to compare that the Israelite get into about Ammon and Moab to the one who claims a Christian but live in sinful way. the Israelite has arrived in Canaan after wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, and Ammon and Moab were next to Canaan. the Israelite got into about Ammon and Moab believed, obeyed, and followed the God.(1John 2:5; 1John3:24) that’s why God became their Rock, fortress, deliverer, refuge, shield, salvation and stronghold. They trust the God! In another word they obeyed and followed God (Psalms 91:2) that’s why they’ve been saved from fowlers snare and from the deadly pestilence......etc.(Psalms 91:3) Those who could not got into the land of Ammon and Moab died because of their sins of idolatry, sexual immorality, grumble etc. the sinners in the wilderness were cursed and died.
    Proverbs 26:27(Psalms 7:14-16; 9:15-16)
“Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.“
These Bible verses are the blessings of those who fear God, not sinners. Whoever digs a pit against one whom in God will fall into it!(Galatians 6:7; 1John 2:5; 1John3:24)
Only Joshua and Galap who believed, obeyed and followed the God, and the next generation of the people who came out of Egypt entered Canaan which can be metaphor as heaven. Everyone else died in the wilderness because those who heard did not combine it with faith. (Hebrew 4:2)
    Hebrews 8:9[NIV]
It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

Sorcerey does work on Christians. Elijah was such a strong man, he decided to die when Jezebel performed witchcraft on him

    • @Iluvantir
      @Iluvantir 2 роки тому +7

Have to point out the error in your thinking here: You start by saying that sorcery works against Christians, then proceed to use Elijah as an example. This is akin to me saying "Welsh is not spoken by Welsh people" and using a German as the example of someone not speaking Welsh. Elijah wasn't a Christian. He lived about 700-800 years before Jesus died on the Cross. The "New Covenant" wasn't in effect at that point.
Also, whilst Elijah did despair for his life when Jezebel went for him, the Most High still preserved him through it, and he became one of the only two humans in history who never actually died. He was taken up directly in the presence of his successor Elisha.
Christians, those born again by the Spirit of God and through the shed blood of Jesus, cannot be cursed nor influence by sorcery... if we remain innocent and not open ourselves up to it. Even Christians can be stupid and fall into various types of nonsense if we're not continuing to walk close with Jesus. But so long as we remain hand in hand with him, we have nothing to fear from curses and witchcraft. The devil is under our feet, so what could he possibly do to us? We are in a vastly different position in relation to this world and the god of this world than those who preceded the Cross. We are the Royal Priesthood, part of the holy nation, pillars in the Temple of our God, and seated with Christ in heavenly places... all whilst still walking here on Earth. What is a curse to us? What is a speck of dust blowing against our skin? Both: absolutely nothing.

You made the claim first: the onus is on you to provide evidence that the Saints who died before Pentecost (the birth of the Church when the Spirit of God came to dwell in the people of God permanently) are also part of the Church. So pony up yourself, I'll examine it, then I'll present evidence for my side. Remember: the one making the claim must provide evidence. You didn't. You started by saying that Christians can be touched by curses, and then equated pre-Church saints with the Church saints. Evidence please. And I want it in context, not proof text that is erroneous.
Example of "proof text that is erroneous", I hear you ask? Your 2 Corinthians 4:8 wild stab in the dark to back up your faulty point. Read from verse 7 to 15 (IE keep in context) and you'll not find anything speaking about curses, but about persecution instead:
      --
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you.
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
      --
You have the temerity to accuse me of being a Leftist when you are the one actually using their playbook: YOU didn't provide evidence, yet accused ME of not doing so. You actually did what you're calling ME out on. That's hypocrisy. That's deceit. That's a lying tongue. You know that God hates the lying tongue... right? So come on, oh wise one. Man up, pony up. I'll be here waiting.
I'll get some popcorn while I wait. This should be good.

Proverbs 26:2 states a curse cause less can not come, which means if the Pastor had curses inflicted on him, he was not living fully for or in Christ or he may have had an open door to the enemy i.e. unrepented sin, bitterness or unforgiveness. Being a pastor doesn't mean he's living right, plus we can see a man's work, but we can't see his heart, only God can.

I respectfully disagree with you, Josh. Salvation is by faith in grace, through Jesus Christ. And it is BECAUSE you are saved, you will do good works. One cannot earn salvation by works (see Ephesians 2:9).
About OSAS, it is true. When viewing the book of Hebrews 6:4, when you see "falling away," (or even in some cases the use of "fallen from grace"), don't just assume the term means that a person or a group of people that were saved are now no longer saved. Do consider who the writer of the book of Hebrews is addressing. He is addressing Hebrew believers (not Gentiles), and the writer is telling the Hebrew believers not to "fall away" into the OT ordinances (see verses 1 & 2). Notice, the writer in Hebrews mentions instructions about cleansing rites. Cleansing rites are OT ordinances (the shadow) that are now obsolete because of Jesus (the Substance), the bringer of the NT through the blood of the cross is the only means of salvation (see verses 4--6). In other words, there are no other means by which a person can be saved outside of Jesus' sacrificial death and resurrection. You won't find salvation by doing the works of OT ordinances. If you trust in the OT system (which was only temporary), then you can't be saved. Therefore, the term "falling away" is implying falling back to the OT ordinances.
When a person is saved, it is guaranteed, so to speak, that you belong to God. And the person is sealed by the Spirit of promise to the day of redemption (see Ephesians 4:30).
Also, 1 John 3:9 makes it clear that God's SEED (Jesus Christ) remains in the believer; therefore, the believer (if he does sin) will repent and remain in right-standing with God. This is why 1 John 1:9 is important. It is talking about believers confessing their sins. Believers are not sinless, but they will sin less (they will not practice/habitually sin).
