reverse positioning is interesting, but i don't wanna see it return in VR. i think Galaxy did it best where you could *hypothetically* train a character for any position, but they're better in their default one. having the meta revolve around using characters in incorrect positions just doesn't sound appealing and defeats the point of players even having positions in the first place

    • @TheModecular
      @TheModecular Рік тому +6

The way I see positions is how a player is built and how likely that player’s stat spread will look. I don’t like restricting a player to a specific position just because they are that position.
E.g. Shawn Froste is only a decent FW in galaxy and pretty sucky everywhere else. Wheras he’s known for his defensive stats. GO 2 brings potential out in players that suck in their main position.

I like the idea of being able to change anyones position ( i could for example turn darren into a midfielder like he used to be as something nerdy or do something funny like turning a random forward into a goalkeeper). However,if reverse positioning returns in victory road,i dont want it make goalkeepers not be able to play as a goalkeeper, making reverse positioning mandatory. I also hope that they explain the freedom stat more this time around.

It’s mainly GO 2 that beings out the worst in GKs due to the different shift in the meta. GO 1’s meta for using every position pretty equally is the best imo.

Here’s the in-depth explanation! (Featuring GO 3’s stat training, unsure if Tom will do GO 3’s stats in a future video)
PLEASE NOTE: Reverse Positioning isn't "overpowered" or "broken", it's simply a way to make characters viable in other areas that would be better in their main position. The difference between a reverse positioned player and a non-reverse positioned player is only around 2-3% in viability. It is only a strong recommendation if you are playing high level competitive multiplayer matches. This is simply a guide on how to make reverse positioned players.
    **Inazuma Eleven GO 1**
New game, new engine, new stats. For the better this time as they are more clear on what they do. This is also the game that introduces us to reverse positioning in terms of stat training. Reverse positioning is very prevalent in the previous games but that was due to the player’s moveset. (E.g. FW Pants)
    Kick = Shooting power
    Dribble = Dribbling power
    Block = Blocking power
Catch = Catching power & Decreases the chance of getting a “Whoops”
Technique = Boosts power slightly & Determines the chance of a move failing dependant on the difficulty of the move
    Speed = Running speed
Stamina = Reduces the amount of FP drainage
Luck = Determines the chance of a critical hit
In this game, a player’s position now determines how their stats are trained. E.g. for GKs, Kick will decrease luck when all freedom points are used and vice versa.
    **Goalkeeper**
    Kick Luck
    Dribble Block
    Catch Technique
    Speed Stamina
    **Defender**
    Kick Catch

    Block Luck
    Speed Stamina
    **Forward**
    Kick Technique
    Dribble Block
    Catch Luck
    Speed Stamina
Note: It is advised to start training when the player reaches Lv99.

As you can see, Arion is now a far better defender than being a midfielder.
While Arion loses his Dribble stat, it is far better to have a strong block stat as a Defender in return.
This is called pareto optimal ditribution. Where you find the best possible stat spread to use in the META. Which in turn has provided us reverse positioning.
You may have noticed why I have been labelling DFs and MFs to train Technique down to 60 points rather than 1. That is because the best bracelet in the game: Tezcat’s Bracelet gives +40 technique.
    **Inazuma Eleven GO 2**
GO 2’s stat training methods is exactly the same as GO 1’s. However GO 2 has a bit of a different meta than GO 1’s.
    **Equipment**
Instead of Tezcat’s Bracelet giving +40 Technique. It is now the Zero Gloves that give +70 Technique. So instead of training until Technique drops to 60, train until Technique drops to 30.
    **Calculations**
GO 1’s power calculations are: (Statx0.8+Techniquex0.2)
GO 2 halves it. So stats have a minimal impact in total power but they are still important nevertheless.
This has reduced the severity of DFs and MFs being bad defending and midfielding.
    **Forwards**
Now that spirit moves have been nerfed, armourfying with normal special moves has now required FWs to keep their technique stat at 30 instead of dropping down to 1.
    **Goalkeepers**
The BIGGEST blow to goalkeepers is a variety of factors:
    1) Gloves now boost Catch and Technique stats, meaning they yield 60-90 less catch than what a FW would have on his kick.
A GK only has +10 Technique gloves and +70 Catch Gloves (80 points)
A FW can have +70 Technique Gloves and +70 Kick Boots (140 points)
    2) With the introduction of stunning, a key feature in GO 2 and 3. Technique is the stat that was allocated to decrease the amount of stun a GK gets.
And it’s just so happens that training up a GK’s catch DECREASES technique.
So all of a sudden, Goalkeepers are terrible at being Goalkeepers as they can’t drop technique to increase their catch and they get stunned easier than reverse positioned goalkeepers.
    A visual example is:
**Sunil Rahman** - The goalkeeper with the highest catch stat in the game when training his technique to 1
    Catch: 318
    Technique: 90
    Catch power: 136.2
**Buzz Cutt** - Literally a random DF with an awful 47 base catch
    Catch: 246
    Technique: 262
    Catch Power: 124.6
As you can see, Buzz Cutt has similar catching power as well as more stun resistance.
**What is the best positions for everyone?**
    GK to be a GK🔴
    GK to be a DF🟡
    GK to be a MF🟡
    GK to be a FW🟡
    DF to be a GK🟢
    DF to be a DF🟡
    DF to be a MF🟢
    DF to be a FW🟢
    MF to be a GK🟢
    MF to be a DF🟢
    MF to be a MF🟡
    MF to be a FW🟢
    FW to be a GK🟢
    FW to be a DF🟢
    FW to be a MF🟢
    FW to be a FW🟡
    **Inazuma Eleven GO 3**
    Same stats, different story.
    1) Now stats do not decrease, so GKs are back to being good and reverse positioning is 99% completely gone
    2) Freedom has been ramped up to 200-300
    3) Stat calculations are 250% more important than GO 2’s
    4) Stamina determines stun damage rather than Technique
    **Training Method**
    **Goalkeepers**
Step 1) Now GKs require exactly 164 stamina to not get stunned, so train a player’s stamina until it hits 119 if they have less than 119 stamina. (Demonic Bracelet gives +45 Stamina)
Step 2) Then pour the rest into catch
    **Defenders**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into block
    **Defensive Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour 100 points of freedom into Block
Step 2) Pour the rest into dribble
    **Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into dribble
    **Spirit dribbling Midfielders**
Step 1) Pour freedom into speed until it reaches 200
Step 2) Pour the rest into dribble
    **Forwards**
Step 1) Pour all freedom into kick
And thats it. GO 3 is a very one-stat juggernaut style meta.
    **GO 1 & GO 2**
    [Pros]
    Meta wise, balanced enough
Not too hard to get into
    Affordable(Prestige Points)
    [Cons]
    Some positions become less favourable
Rating: 7/10, I wouldn’t mind seeing this return
    ___________________________________________
    **GO 3**
    [Pros]
    Quick
    Simple
    Cheap
    [Cons]
    Meta wise, Extremely unbalanced
Results in a One dimensional stat build
Rating: 6/10, the unbalanced meta ruins it for me

A separate comment where i'd say that my own take on Reverse Positioning is that I don't really like it but I don't dislike it either. I'm fine with it being there.
A good compromise I think would be combining GO and CS's stat calcs and general Freedom level with Galaxy's rule that you cannot lower a stat by training.
That way, Reverse Positioning is still perfectly fine as an option without being crippled without crippling players who stay in their own positions.

    • @TheModecular
      @TheModecular Рік тому

In my eyes, reverse positioning in Chrono Stones(minus GKs being terrible at goalkeeping ofc) was done perfectly as DFs were actually not bad being DFs, they were just more all-rounded. - Not to mention CS had low stat calculations so the reversed positioned players were only at most 2 or 3% better than non-reverse positioned players.
All in all, it's more of a choice to use reverse positioning in the first 2 GO games, if you like it, go for it, if you don't like it, don't go for it. While Galaxy's is just a mess lmaooo

Galaxy handled Reverse Positioning the worst.
People who like it have to deal with the fact that calculations in that game make it too limited outside of a few characters compared to the feeedom allowed before.
People who don't like it have to deal with the fact that the two single best Goalkeepers in the whole game are Reverse Positioned and by a massive margin.
Also extra: Will we still get a GO1 meta video?

Couldn’t agree more. I would love GO 3 to have more viability in different positions. Instead what we get is just using 300 freedom midfielders and defenders with x3 SBM GKs and FWs
As for the GO meta videos, I expected it to be released before this one lol. It’ll come eventually

Yeah, but in Galaxy you usually use like three keepers to counter Calla, Victor... So you are using Silvia, Nejibo and in general keepers with a lot of freedom and females or nogenders.

Honestly GO2's reverse positioning is fun, and the only thing it did was make most goalkeeper characters pretty much unviable, while Goldie could become the best forward in the entire game. I'm not the biggest fan of it, but I don't dislike it. This mechanic didn't exactly break GO2, the way the game is played competitively did. GO2 is all about having one striker and then pretty much every other player has to get the ball and pass it to them. All teams looked the same, since, unlike the OG games, in the GO2 and 3 games there's an "optimal" way of playing which is extremely restrictive, and if you don't play like that, your chances of winning are heavily affected in a negative way

    • @TheModecular
      @TheModecular Рік тому +1

Reverse positioning is deffo 100% great. CS low stat calculations make it so that it’s not severely broken. Which is a big W
As for OG stat training, if OG movesets were customisable then players like Luceafar and Edgar Partinus would be seen everywhere in the meta due to their stats. That’s just how the meta works: Most effective tactics available. Even if it’s a difference of 1 kick stat. I think IE 3 is the biggest offender in player restrictiveness as everyone uses DE Feldt and Nakata/Pants etc. cause of their broken movesets
Btw, CS meta isn’t the only meta that focuses on a lone striker. All meta teams in every game have 1 or 2 strikers to pass to for scoring. The rest defend (it’s how IE works as a whole lol)

@@TheModecular the way I've seen people play CS is have one striker and two passers beside em (like DUH, you're gonna have just one mixitransed armored player shooting). The other strikers stay at the bench. The other way I've seen peeps play is running a striker and a chain shooter, which is pretty rad ngl
And while yes, most IE metas are all about that, the OGs don't have keshins so you don't need tha big setup in order to score, meaning you can have two or even three forwards. And with galaxy... we don't talk about galaxy.
So anyway, I quit competitive CS because of how boring facing the same void element team was. There's no variety whatsoever. While IE3 is broken beyond repair, with goalkeepers being weak af, I like how that allows players to, for example, use Tachimukai with chaos break as a forward and not be punished because "uh, you didn't pick THE BEST PLAYER"

Wait no you don't want to train a goalkeeper's catch until technique is 1, that makes them a liability if any of their techniques has a difficulty above 71
You want to have your goalkeeper's technique be (Highest difficulty stat in their moveset)-70, so that with Zero Gloves they can simply never fail the technique
You can reverse position a goalkeeper into a defender or a striker
A striker with 100 catch can consistently get the ball without "whoops!"-ing, so all that technique factors into stunning goalkeepers. Downside is they'll have no luck, but that shouldn't be an issue
A reverse positioned goalkeeper can work decently well as a defender, because they only need to steal the ball and pass it up, so all that catch can go to technique to get slightly higher stats. The high luck is a plus too :p

    • @TheModecular
      @TheModecular Рік тому

TXM stated that the training shown is for GO 1 only. It's stated at 2:15 that spirit moves do not fail. So GKs and FWs train their technique to 1. Also, Zero gloves boost a player's catch by 100, so decreasing catch to 1 is perfectly fine.
3:26 onwards is GO 2, where technique is now required for GKs and FWs. And it's better to take precautions for the reverse positioned GK's catch stat, cause you will likely need to pass to them at some points to advance the ball up the pitch.

Bro i didn't understand jackshit about that. So it's recommended to play people out of position if you absolutely destroy one of their other stats to literally nothing because it would be better than if they were max trained to their actual position? I think that's what was said? And then that Chrono Stone explanation just sounded like dissing Chrono Stone. This is why i don't reverse position.

    • @TheModecular

Reverse positioning isn’t as horrendously broken as it sounds. It’s more so choosing the optimal build that a player can have to make more use of that player in a competitive meta format.
In casual singleplayer/multiplayer reverse positioning is not really a deciding factor.

@@janusgreenway6934 The reason for the odd stats all over the place when you level a player up to 255 is because of stat growths. The game’s coded to grow them from Lv1-99 not 1-255
So stats that grow slow at Lv1-50 and fast at Lv51-99 will have absurdly high stats at Lv255 and vice versa. Cause it takes the Lv98-99 stats for Lv99-255

@@TheModecular ah. Nice to get a comprehensive explanation on that. Like, these stat growths are basically free reverse positioning anyway. For example, Said Abbas, captain of Shamshir, has a natural catch stat of 1025. For reference, this forward's kick stat is somewhere in either the high 2 or low 3 hundreds based on how much I trained him. I actually think almost everybody would be naturally better in other positions. Now there are some characters that circumvent this, take surprisingly or unsurprisingly based on your description, Mark and Arion. In Galaxy, Arion's highest stat IS his dribble at 548 which...is actually kind of pathetic compared to certain other character's stats but still. And Mark's natural catch stat is 555. It's not his highest, that's his luck at 655 but still, for Galaxy, considering this is untrained, pretty good. Glad to have some sense of understanding when I find out Victor and Zack actually are some of the best goalkeepers in Galaxy (Victor's natural catch stat is 162 and Zack's is 89 btw, really good goalkeepers). In Chrono Stone, well I mean it kinda depends on your miximax. What do you get when you throw King Arthur's 700 something kick onto Arion? A kick so high the game stops it at 999. Same with Riccardo and Nobunaga. Special props to Sor having a surprisingly high luck stat at 1234. Same for Arion, same luck stat. Shout-out to Trina for having all 3 of her other main stats (kick, dribble, block, catch) be better than her block. She's probably the actual best goalkeeper in the game with a natural 1234 catch. Yes, her kick is better than her block lol.
