    Do you know how grateful I am that you did a self-highlighting tutorial with your level natural?? !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! There are never enough youtube tutorials of highlights on people with hair as dark as ours, let alone people self-highlighting!! It might LOOK dark for those others, but they are always level 5 and above people LOL. Thank you so much for this!! So glad I found your channel!! Results were awesome!!

      @@jesshonolulu I'm watching all of your videos now hehehe, I love your content so far!!! Quick question, cuz I noticed you used a 1 to 1 ratio... I've been using 1-1.5 so that it will be stronger, but do you ever notice major swelling with blondme?? It happens to me a lot, which creates leak/bleed marks WHICH SUCKS even worse on our color hair!!! Was wondering if the 1 to 1 ratio eliminates that problem?? I also heard from another video on youtube that adding a tiny bit of the clay powder lightener to the regular blondme will prevent swelling? Tried it the other day for my own hair and I didn't have any swelling, but I was only doing a few foils, so I don't know if it actually works for a full head packed with highlights you know what I mean?
      Sorry for the long comment =)

    thank you for this video. I'm going to try highlights soon. Can i ask, will the color be the same without foil or is it needed?

    • @jesshonolulu
      @jesshonolulu  Рік тому +1

      The foils will help to keep the bleach from getting on the other parts of your hair and also the insulation it provides will give you a cleaner and more even lift.

      @@jesshonolulu honestly I haven't done my hair yet I need your help so bad I'm wondering if I could paint it on my hair better than putting them in foils because my hair is maybe a level 8 and some placesThat needs to be brightened up thought about open-air just not sure I always always teasing highlights they are the best just not sure which action I should take

      @@jesshonolulu I need to do my money piece some of the grown out pieces first but trying to go by your video is perfect maybe I should do a bleach wash I have still some dark brown and my hair too maybe I avoid those pieces, just need to decide my hair is bleached it is somewhat damaged of course because of the bleach but it's not in that bad of condition I don't think to touch up it's been several months since I've had it done or I've done it

    Thanks for the video!! I have went honking about doing this on myself and Everytime i have gotten highlights/balayage in the salon I have always asked for Olaplex. I have a similar natural root colour as yours💕!! Can I use coconut oil to make the damage even just a bit less? Or sense only a small amount of hair is bleached it might not be as necessary?💗💗I remember my hairdresser telling me the olaplex that salons offer aren’t on sale for the prívate customers only for salons and proffesionals:)

      @jesshonolulu  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! Thank you for watching :)
      Yes, the Olaplex we use for color services are not sold to the public .. unfortunately.
      As for damage. You could consider using a lower volume developer and possibly shoot for a color that is less light/blonde. That would be the safest and least damaging :)
