Karina, I am a 76 year old woman who has been sewing since I was 10 or 12 years old. I had a long hiatus from sewing, and since retirement have gotten back to it. I can’t believe how much I have learned from you! Thanks for helping to put a lot of joy (and pride) into my sewing projects.
Gorgeous floral fabric. You can tell it’s a beautiful, lightweight, soft cotton. Not like quilters cotton. You put a lot of work into these videos, thanks so much.
I really love the fabrics and this pattern! I thank u for sharing these. The shacket also makes me want to buy this pattern! I just hope I can catch a sale soon...
Based solely on your video I have bought the love Notions pattern and course. thank you for your content, you are amazing and I so look forward to seeing more from you in the future. You are one of my all time favourite Vloggers.
Glad I came to check what you did - the instructions say to understitch the placket with the seam allowance towards the placket, which of course makes the main front fabric poke out. I think next time I'll try your other trick of extending the front and eliminate the separate placket.
Karina, thanks so much for this video. Your chiffon blouse is absolutely stunning and suits you beautifully. I have purchased this pattern and am looking forward to sewing it. I love watching your videos and I have learned so much from your lesson content.
Thank you for showing the buttton placket meeting the hem at 27:58, that’s the issue I’m having right now with a shirt I’m working on, trying not to have too much bulk at that corner, I’ll go ahead and copy you and hand sew that part of the hem. Perfect solution!
Love, love the animal print one with the terracotta trousers. I'm not a lover of floral prints or pink but would definitely wear that beautiful chiffon shirt. Looks amazing on you!
I’m very particular with pink and this is an exception for me. I definitely can’t do the pastel tones but the bright pink got me here. I know that what I like won’t be what everyone likes 😀
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Oh I know. People think I'm crazy for not liking florals (love them in my garden, just don't like wearing them). You can't please all of the people all of the time, and you shouldn't have to. I think your channel is amazing and I've learned so much from you - many thanks for all your detailed, thoughtful sewing content.
Thank you so much for all you do. The Arias are gorgeous as your makes usually are. Never thought of using my blind hem foot for edge stitching in all my years of sewing…you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! Thank you! 🙂
I have been looking for a comfortable button up shirt I can style for my daughters Barrel Horse competitions. All the commercials shirts are not styled for plus size Mummas :) I am going to give this one a go :) you have given me the confidence
Wow, both blouses are gorgeous - I think my favourite is the cotton one, cos of the colours. I’ve purchased the pattern and I want to try the full collar version because it looks a bit easier. We’re so lucky to have you showing us how it’s done and I love your accuracy and attention to detail. Marie 💕
Love both shirts! Wish it weren't so difficult to find nice cotton fabric as I find quilting cotton to be somewhat thick and stiff. I have actually sewn a shirt with chiffon and it is very nice, it just took a lot longer to sew but worth the effort. Thank you for all the tutorials as you are my go-to person when I need to learn something new or a better way to sew!
Nice job on the shirts. Congrats on the chiffon animal print, special look. In a prior video you mentioned short sleeves and slanted short sleeves. Could you please expand on that? I think that is why I like some short sleeve tops and the some of the non slanted short sleeves look masculine. Also, straight short sleeve length at bust height tends to make the whole shirt look boxy, what do you think? Does a slanted sleeve also apply to a 3/4 sleeve length? I really like 3/4 sleeves. You are doing a wonderful job sharing and teaching.
Thank you Karina. Such a beautiful cotton shirt you’ve sewn. Love the colors and you are right about difficulty finding nice cottons and yours is so pretty. The chiffon is a challenge for me and I plan to try it out.
Gorgeous as usual ❤️. I am devastated and really surprised that you didn't make the dress 😭😭😭😭. I really wanted to see what the dress turned out... I guess I'll have to make it 😂😂😂
I mentioned that the dress and another shirt are coming in a separate video. There are not enough hours for me to do all I do all by myself. The chiffon Aria took very long to make.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I'm sorry. It's my fault , I didn't have enough time to watch the video til the end. I love what you have made and I look forward to your next videos. You have inspired me to make this shirt 😊😊. Hank you for all you do ❤️
Love the terracotta colour way on you! Gorgeous shirt. Going to try and make a one. Hopefully with no lumps and bumps in the collar. Thank you for all the sewing tips.
Thank you Karina. I have used your link to make my purchase and look forward to making my first Aria. Like others, I have learned a lot from you - including how to improve my top stitching using the blind hem foot.
I'd like to try a chiffon blouse - different pattern - is it important to match the interfacing? I have white interfacing and the chiffon is teal, but I'm thinking I might need to hut some black interfacing? I like both of your Aria and I appreciate the separate videos for individual pieces. Good for reference.
There are certain chiffon fabrics in my stash where I deliberately choose styles that don’t need interfacing…. And go for styles with bias tape necklines.. because white or black would be noticeable.
I love your videos and watched you making the aria shirt. I got thru making the collar and button plackets, however when i sewed the side seams they did not line up- the shirt was so small i could not put my arms in it. I printed the pattern based on the completed measurements of the garment. When i have printed out the patterns based on my body measurements, the shirts have been way too large. Not sure what i am doing wrong- but i dont want to become so dismayed i stop trying…. Any advice?
You can’t use the finished measurements to choose a size. Then you will have no ease and space to move your body inside the garment. I have never recommended using the finished measurements to choose a size. Choosing based on the high bust on the body measurements chart will give you a good neck, shoulder and sleeve fit and then you can blend to other sizes for the waist and hips if needed.

Me too. Same. Love, love, love sewing and making clothes that fit and are custom.

Karina you are amazing. I would not have even considered making a shirt before watching your videos. I now am going to give it a go. Thank you
So grateful! I’m learning so much from you. God bless 🙏🏻
The chiffon blouse looks beautiful Karina. Love the colours and the buttons look great on it. Thanks for sharing.
Very pretty both, but my fav is the first one though, just so nice colours. Thanks for shearing your skills.
One of the best tips you give is using your blind hem foot to do the under stitching and the tidy narrow top stitching on the placket. Thank you!
Thanks sooo much for sharing your knowledge! Beautiful blouses, you are so talented!❤️❤️❤️
Thank-you for another wonderful video. You always provide great details and sewing tips. I appreciate the resources you have created.
You’re very welcome. I loved creating all of this
Love this shirt and I’m in love with the fabric.
Thank you I just bought this pattern and course, I love button up shirts thanks for the video
Glad you like them!

Thanks! They are super comfy.

I love how the cotton one turned out! I like seeing you try some different prints too!
Both Aria’s are just lovely, but the chiffon animal print with the Terra-cotta Allegros is so gorgeous! Beautiful fit as well😊
Love, love, love the chiffon top. The cotton top is very pretty too. Thank you for showing us how to do it.

If you sew quilting cotton with a can of Coca Cola, it softens up a lot. I don’t have any right now but I have made garments in the past with it.

Do you remove your placket guide stitch after it i# pressed?
Yup. I do 😀. It’s a long stitch length so it’s very easy to remove.

Hi Karina , thank you 😊 I want to find similar cotton fabric texture, what will it be called for an online search 🔍 thank you 😊
This is just a light cotton shirting. I buy locally and can't provide links to fabric.
