Thank you for the review! I am glad to know that my preference for saving up for the important armors will not go astray. For myself I have been wearing a lobster tail gorget I bought from Regulus Armories for 15 years now and it works well for HEMA & SCA. I have taken SCA rattan swords onto it straight on and it was fine, It also locks up of I lean too far back which is also nice when you take a pez-dispenser face thrust. If I have to change up when I get my 14th cen kit together I will be using whatever neck protection goes with it.
Thanks for the review. Informative and entertaining as usual! If you are anyways kind of doing a 'gorget series': do you have experience with the PBT HEMA Throat Protector? I am using mine now for several years and am very happy with it. It makes the impression to be more 'bulky', as it is larger in the front and has additional collarbone protection. However, it is very comfortable in use and I really appreciate the extra collarbone protection. It should also be in a comparable price range. I would really like to hear about your opinions on it. Cheers, Thomas
What has been the most effective forearm protection for you guys? Outside of better technique there are a couple in our group that keep eating cuts to the sword arm but we are lost as to which is worth the cost...
