One of the reasons I really adore this group is because they're always 100% authentic. Singing live seems to be disappearing in K-pop these days. K-pop idols are and should be singers too, not just dancers or serve visuals. That's why I appreciate groups like ATEEZ who keep showing what true idols are all about. They're the kind of group you'll never regret spending even a single penny.
I'm also super hyped for their Coachella performances. It's ATEEZ's time to shine on a global scale. This could be their moment to really make their mark and show the world what they're made of. They're going to absolutely crush it!!
I completely agree with you about them needing to be singers too.. And not just "performers".. And ugh, wish I could watch the coachella performance but I would spoil all the songs I haven't heard yet.. 😭
I love that you included live performance because Ateez are different when performing LIVE 🔥 btw they will make history next week as the "First Kpop boy group to perform at Coachella" so proud of them ❤️
I have witnessed this live & let me tell you it was an experience I will never forget.
I learned who ATEEZ was by accident. I had been watching a reactor I enjoy while doing something else and the video rolled into two dance practice reactions of ATEEZ. I wasn't fully paying attention or I would have stopped it, but I remember I had heard parts of both songs before in passing and was surprised they were both from the same group since I liked both. I made a mental note to check them out when I had time and forgot about it. A few months later, I heard they would be on Kingdom Legendary War and remembered I had wanted to check them out. Hala Hala was my first MV. Between Hongjoong's rap, Jongho's singing, and their incredible dancing, I was fully in by the end of the first chorus. I knew they were special.
When you think about it, it was pretty risky promoting a song in their first comeback, as rookies from a small company, with a video hiding their faces--bold too as though they were saying we can grab your attention with our talent alone.
A few fun facts: the term demon line was born during this era largely due to Hongjoong, Seonghwa, and San's fancams.
Several members have shared stories of sunbaenims greeting them because they looked so intimidating and mature during these promotions. Hongjoong said it happened to him once in a rest room. The Senior greeted him and walked off so quickly, Hongjoong said he didn't know what do. He thought it might be embarrassing if he pointed out he was the Junior.
When Seonghwa, Yunho, and Mingi march in a V down the center and the others slide out of the way, Yeosang once slid wrong and dislocated his finger! He popped it back in place himself during the performance 😢.
Excuse me??? Just like that popped it back in during a performance?? 🧐😳😳 What the!!
@@LenaBeeReactsYes. There are even videos of it. He said he kept going because he didn't want to break the flow and make the others look bad, if I remember correctly. They talked about it during an interview.
This is why i love them. They're never lip sync, always live. They're all have amazing voices. And i'm warning you, the more you will discover their discographie and their performances, the more you will deeply falling for them 😊
Hala Hala fancams for Seonghwa, San, and Hongjoong…. all of them really are my guilty pleasure. Some of my favorite Hala Hala performances are the ones where they are in all red and where they are in black with red accents. The birth of the demon line. 😊
They sing live whenever possible, but there are some performances where they either couldn’t or were not allowed to especially early on when they had no leverage. There are a few times that they do let the backing track take over for some over the top strenuous dance parts, but you can definitely hear it when it happens and they usually don’t even bother to lip sync. They’ve said they don’t practice lip syncing so they are horrible at it. Jongho has also said that if he isn’t singing live, he doesn’t feel like he performed.
As a Seonghwa bias, some of my favorite things are in Fireworks performances when they do the ‘explosion’ choreo and his voice sounds so stable with a little wobble during the vibrations and when he jumps from table to the floor in their last Immortal Songs performance and you can hear the aaAaAaaa when he lands. Makes it so much more enjoyable.
And San got hit with a ballon in the face and cut his note short with an ‘umph’… that went viral. I love it.
Jongho sings to us a lot when he has lives. He is so amazing no matter what that man sings.
I also got overwhelmed because of the awesomeness when i first watching Hala Hala just like you 😁 and I agree with everything you said here 👍
If I'm not mistaken, Jongho once said that there was a time when he sang a bit off-key. And when he came down from the stage and saw KQ CEO, he thought he must be scolded or something like that, but it turned out that his CEO gave him a compliment. And said it's okay to sing off-key. Because it proves that you really sing live 😊
I 100% agree with the ceo! And damn, that's one awesome ceo 👌👌 these types are very very rare, especially in the music industry

Since you like when groups can actually sing while performing you need to check out Ateez's immortal song performances🙌🏻 Ateez was the fastest k-group to win it 3 times and they recently won again making them the only k-pop to ever win it 4 times.
Thank you very much for noticing and talking about their live vocals. I'm a person who notices this a lot and it's something important to me, which is why ATEEZ has become the biggest and only for me. At many times, the boys prefer not to even lypsync and let the base sound as the base, rather than pretending to be singing. Furthermore, it is surprising how Yunho and San control their vocals even with a heavy performance load. They are unique, it's a shame that few people know about it.
i don't know if you noticed but yeosang has a hand brace on during the dance practice because while on tour, he dislocated his finger mid performance and popped it back into place. the adrenaline allowed him to continue the performance without stopping

16:02 Exactly! i've been into kpop for 15 years already and believe me... very few artist sing live live. You know what? When i saw Hala Hala the first time i knew i made a great decision. I thought "if they cover their faces they must be so confident in their real talent, not only serving looks" and i was so right. I wanted a group that show they have real talent and Ateez served. As we say in spanish "al cliente lo que pida".

I remember watching Hala Hala dance practice in 2019 in a “hardest dances in kpop” compilation and being amazed, but I was only into BTS at the time and I was in the middle of writing my thesis for uni so I only remembered the group started with an A. During covid I searched the dance practice again, but somehow I thought it was ACE and not Ateez so I couldnt find it. I started getting into Stray Kids in 2021 and decided to watch Kingdom thinking I was going to finally become a Stay. I ended up falling in love with Ateez’s performances and watching all MVs and dance practiced and lo and behold: there was Hala Hala. From them on it was just a matter of time, and soon I was atiny! (I’m Seonghwa biased and I cant wait to see you getting into their personalities more!) I watched them live last year at Allianz (their only stadium concert so far, in a venue where they were only the second kpop group to play there, the other group being BTS - also went, also amazing) and it was one of the best concerts in my life! The only downside was Jongho missing due surgery, cus I NEED to watch that boy singing live!
Am soo jealous you seen BTS and Ateez live.. I've been an Army since 2014 and never seen them live yet.. I 2014 I was only 18 years old and bts didn't tour in Europe (I live in Ireland) yet.. And then later on I was busy with life and had my son. So for their 2019 ON tour I was prepared to buy tickets and even fly to another country to see them, but that damn covid hit and everything got cancelled.. So now my only hope is after 2025.. 😭😭😁

this is the first video of yours that i've watched but your excitement is so contagious! i love getting to see your ateez journey!! their performances are what drew me in as an atiny so i love seeing other people appreciate what great performers they are.
they go so hard during the end dance break in this song that san would break his mic like every other performance lol
and yes, the live vocals! i've been in this kpop game for a while now (i got into bts in like 2017) and the effort that ateez puts into keeping their vocals live blows me away every time. there are definitely times when the mix with the background track is not as good, particularly in events like award shows or special concert stages where its more out of their control, but ateez have been very open about always singing live. even during those events where the background track is too loud, ateez will try their best to sing louder over it to make sure they are heard, i love it!
it's no surprise that ateez have won so many times on immortal songs, where lip synching is not allowed :) those performances are some of my favorites, i would definitely check them out later down the road (though maybe not on yt, i think they would get blocked)

Need to figure it out 😂 yeah, I've been listening to kpop since like 2011 and bts fan since 2014, but ATEEZ are really impressing me right now..i can't believe it took be soo long to start listening to their music 😭

I've noticed during concerts that they rely on backtracks when they do choreo and have to sing soft breathy notes (eg Guerilla - San and Yunhos slow part), which makes absolute sense, cause how can you do those when your heart is pumping like mad.
one of the reasons I love the live version of Turbulence so much is that there is no choreo and you can appreciate there live vocals completely.

И конечно хорео тут просто боба. Знаешь. я вот смотрела и думала о том, как же они меняются на сцене. Скажем Сан, такой славный игривый щеночек в жизни (в тот период, точно;D) вдруг делается каким-то инфернальным существом, на грани Об боже мой! и Страшно, вырубай!:DD То же самой могу сказать о Сонхва, бесподобное перевоплощение из преимущественно сдержанного прекрасного юноши в жуткого демона. Хонджуни... ну, в жизни он часто такой дерзкий бэд-бой чуть, потому это в глаза не так бросается;D Чонхо со своим вокалом тут просто меня уничтожил, конечно. Минги снес, как всегда энергетика от него, конечно так и прет. Уёнчик мой тут прямо чувственный такой, меня почему-то очень трогает эта его финалка, где он один стоит на сцене, он словно незащищен, не знаю, как это правильно донести... А Ёсанчик, вообще пострадал на Хале как-то(( Сколько же мужества у этого мальчика! Вправить себе сломанный палец и в слезах выйти на сцену снова, но с улыбкой, чтобы никто не увидел его боли. Блин, мне иногда кажется, что если фанаты возьмутся писать книгу по Ateez, объемом она будет не меньше чем "Война и мир" и по драме не уступит :D Прости за флуд, но так захотелось поделиться чувствами после твоей прекрасной реакции!😘

@@LenaBeeReacts Конечно начни, это захватывает. После всего увиденного, они все уже как родные, такое странное чувство сопричастности и гордости за своих ребяток. Словно дети выросли на твоих глазах ведь было и стало - огромная разница. И да, они реально семья и, кстати, это одна из самых тактильных и веселых групп, которые я знаю)) Тебе в этом плане будет проще на английский контента переведено значительно больше
If you want the most amazing examples of them having stable live vocals while performing - check their Immortal Songs performances. The show doesn't allow prerecorded vocals - all performers must sing live. That's why a lot of groups won't go on there. Ateez has won more times than any other kpop group - a total of 4 wins.

Ei cântă numai live.Inclusiv Jongho a spus la un moment dat că lui nu îi place altfel ,doar live să cânte asta îi place lui și atunci toți au hotărât să cânte live și nu doar să mimeze de pe buze melodiile.Au încercat odată și nu le-au plăcut și de atunci ei numai live cântă la orice spectacol ar avea.
