Thats nice mate! The straight sixes are just fantastic engines. Maintenance can be expensive, but do lot of precautions and change oil+filters every year/10k km and you should be fine with engine wise. Engines are solid, but on cooling department, that's a whole another story. Plastic pieces over time gets brittle, so yeah, those arent that good.
BMW really designed something special with the E39. Honestly, I'm not sure if they will ever be able to design something that looks so perfect in everyway. Sure, modern BMWs look awesome but the E39 is a timeless design. It is like the perfect example of how a German sports sedan should look.

Thats a shame. The F10/F01 build material and generel quality stepped up the game from E6X and E9X) I still love my E39 interior, I wish it was black though with extended leather package.

Yeah, since we got huge taxes on cars in Norway, the 2.0 liters are hugely popular since, its economical, and same luxury as 540. Norwegian often goes for lot of options but "weak" engine. I really dont like that, but I understand why, im not an ignorant.
