But the variety the woman is grafting in this photo was selected as one of the very best of a large number of seedlings that were grown up, and then it was named, and then pieces of that tree are joined to other seedlings like in this video to get more of the same fruit. This has been done for millennia. Grafting is even mentioned in the Bible.

There are no GMO pawpaw varieties to my knowledge. Researchers must plant thousands of seeds and then evaluate each one over many years once they begin bearing fruit at around 7 years old.
Where can I buy these Atwoods? How do they compare to Shenandoah, Allegheny, Wells, etc ? It seems that the ones that carry it have them always back ordered.
