Since Samantha Bee is originally Canadian, she could perhaps have suggested that the United States model its system on that of Elections Canada, which establishes uniform nationwide rules for all federal elections, or of Elections B.C., which does the same for the province of British Columbia. Those uniform rules cover voter eligibility - basically, everyone who is a citizen can vote; the equitable decennial redistribution of electoral districts (in Canadian parlance, "ridings"); the preparation of voters lists; the size of each polling district within the various ridings and the number and location of each polling place; the number of days for advance polls and the dates on which these will occur; same-day voter registration; absentee voting if you will be away from your normal voting place on election day. There is also a requirement for every employer to provide four clear consecutive hours on the main general election day so that its employees are guaranteed an opportunity to cast their ballot. Federally, elections are conducted by paper ballot. British Columbia may switch to using voting machines for the fall 2021 election, but these will consist of a ballot-form printer which issues a traditional paper ballot to each voter, who marks the ballot in secret as usual and then feeds the ballot into an OCR device that tabulates all votes cast for each candidate listed on the ballot. After the deputy returning officer certifies the count, there will still be an opportunity for a automatic judicial recount of the actual paper ballots in the event that the difference between the number of votes cast for the candidate with the most votes and the number cast for any other candidate is less than 1/1000 of the overall votes cast. The entire system is non-partisan, as opposed to merely bipartisan like the non-functional, essentially paralytic, U.S. Federal Election Commission). There is zero possibility for gerrymandering or other malfeasance, and the Chief Electoral Officer, appointed unanimously by parliament, is prohibited from voting for any political party.
Both institutional DNC and GOP have figured a way to rig elections. This country needs to standardize election process across parties and have an independent, non-political body to oversee election processes including electoral process, policies on campaign funding and advertisement . Hopefully it'll be one of the many fundamental changes Bernie will take up if he becomes the president.

@@mikelayton3810 The issue with the Super delegates in the Dem primaries is that they stated their support for HRC before the states they are from voted at all... Before any votes were cast. This made Clinton look like she was winning from the beginning which helped the narrative that she was the one to beat Trump, regardless of the fact that poll after poll showed a head to head for HRC versus Trump within tolerance for her to lose, while Sanders won by double-digits in those same polls. Then you can look at the voter suppression that occurred within the Democratic primaries as they purged their voter lists (the same ways that Sam Bee stated the Republicans were doing in that portion of this video). Was there actually ill intent with the purges? It's hard to tell, but they were oddly timed and no warning was actually given. A lot of voters turned up only for their identification to not allow them to vote, placed on provisional ballots that the vast majority of were not counted, or where reduced polling locations made the lines so long in many areas that people had to give up on their chance to vote because they couldn't literally wait all day. Arizona had all of these issues as a specific example. I'm from Arizona and experienced the reduction of polling locations and knew quite a few people that were very open about their support of progressive policies and of Bernie Sanders that got purged from voter lists. Their support of Sanders may be circumstantial, but polls of those that were purged showed that it was a trend that far more Sanders supporters were purged than HRC supporters. This is why so many Sanders supporters are so critical of the process and of super delegates. They saw this happening in front of them and the evidence *appeared* to support the claim. This is why some Sanders supporters started shifting away from him after he supported Clinton in the general (though statistically, a much greater proportion of Clinton voters voted Republican afterwards when Clinton ran against Obama than Sanders voters that switched to Clinton 4 years ago.)
Okay, it's perfectly fine for someone to criticize a candidate you like. That does not make the person a tool of the establishment, or morally corrupt, or whatever. Every time I'm amazed that people actually listen to Alex Jones still, there is someone else out there worse who it turns out even more people listen to. About 15 years ago, a few different, sensitive friends of me told me that they were hopeful for the future for the first time in their lives. They said that they thought the interconnected and unfolding world of social media would allow us to get to know each other, and they believed that once that happened we'd all come together. Sadly the opposite has happened. All social media has allowed us to do is sink more into our own bubbles, our own echo chambers, and ignore more and more the voices we don't want to hear. As soon as you allow people to make a living off of being a troll, the trolls will come out of the woodwork.
Let's be honest here a moment Sam. The young voters who most supported Bernie became disillusioned by the process where Superdelegates, on several occasions, overturned the popular candidate in the state giving the win to Hillary instead of Bernie. These young voters then refused to turn out for the primaries. If you watch what happened during the primary elections all of Bernie's steam was let out when the Superdelegates started handing wins to Hillary. Superdelegates were the mistake of last election. Bernie would have won.
The superdelegates don't vote until the national convention. Hillary's team also asked the press to stop reporting the superdelegates' leanings as they hadn't voted yet. As pointed out, the superdelegates left HIllary to go to Obama once it was obvious he was winning the popular vote. Clinton bested Sanders in larger, more diverse states that mostly had a primary, not a caucus. She won open and closed primary states and received millions more votes than Sanders did.
The problem with Super Delegates is that they stack up on the front side of primaries to potentially neutralize the candidates they don't like. For example if one candidate wins the primary or caucus, but the Super Delegates pick looks like they won because of the addition Super Delegate votes. It can take away attention from the candidate that actually won that State. The best thing to do would be to PREVENT Super Delegates from casting votes until the END of primary season, not at the beginning to not try to drown out the PEOPLES choice.
@thewanderandhiscomp I guess you have no clue and did NOT watch the video. Samantha mentioned that Super Delegates that piled up for Hillary when Obama was running had to RETREAT at the end and switch sides when it became clear they were NOT convincing enough people to vote for HRC. Again, Super Delegates should NOT have the ability to influence votes AGAINST the states peoples popular choice. YOU must hate democracy if you are against the popular State choice winning WITHOUT Super Delegate interference.
Superdelegates' votes are taken at the National Convention in the summer, after primary season. The state caucuses and primaries only award regular delegates. Superdelegates are not awarded at that time. The media took endorsements and statements of "I plan to support Hillary" as a vote... the party itself didn't.
The same as shows like Last Week Tonight, it's series based. It'll run for about 6 months, then take a break and return with another season, and they've gotta have something on in the inbetween to keep people's hype up for that next season.

But.....America is the greatest country in the world, right?!
[Please read with a healthy amount of sarcasm....]
Past Sam looking like a snack
Watching the Democratic nomination process, funny how many of Roger Stone's playbook items are showing up.
the white suit with the shoes. 👀👄👀 beautiful
If you can remember 1968 you weren't there.
What the heck is this show? Half the year it's reruns and repeats and flashbacks and rewinds.
The same as shows like Last Week Tonight, it's series based. It'll run for about 6 months, then take a break and return with another season, and they've gotta have something on in the inbetween to keep people's hype up for that next season.
@@garyinthecolehouse Full Frontal seems to take much longer breaks and much lesser shows. Thus my comment.
@@syedhamid8916 Because it's a weekly show, not a daily. Name a weekly show that has a much longer "live" period?
Ooh boy, you are about to get all the misogynist hate of the Bernie Bros. Nothing like being chastised by a woman to make these woman haters to spit bile.
Your still going with that, people hated Hillary for her POLICIES.
@@anthonymalecki8151 Such as? And the Iraq War is off the table... she explained why she voted to Authorize Use of Military Force in Iraq and that vote was 6 months before the Bush invasion and during Saddam's kicking out of UN inspectors.
The day Sam jumped the shark-when she defended the rich bureaucrats having 10,000 more votes than the average person.
thewanderandhiscomp It’s a party that broke it’s own rules when it rigid the primary to give Hillary an advantage. Hillary and the DNC cheated and they still lost to a game show host. The party is corrupt, and they would rather lose to Trump then win with a progressive.
1 vote for 1 social security number

0:37 I thought liberals said the word "blacklisted" was racist. Because reasons.
Hey, you're the one advocating for the system to remain in place. If you want rights, end the politicians who take them from you. They will not give you what you deserve unless you take it.
funny this isnt how 2016 turned out at all
Bee!
2:43 Bernie bros support Cruz? Please show me the source.
Was samantha b on tonight?
Nope! We come back next Wednesday, January 15th! 10:30PM on TBS!
Pokemon go to the polls
😂😂😂
Yup.
If Sam wants fair voting she can leave that idocracy and move back home the Parlementry system in Canada
So with the phone calls, why are they listening? As soon as they know it’s not a business call, hang up.
These people are so lucky that i am sane and busy.
Super Delegate segment ruined the video
The bernie bashing is kinda disgusting. I get it, you wanted another bland af conservative in the office and you would vote for a woman just cuz she's a woman and not on the quality of her opinions and policies
what is wrong with her and bernie
She's a neoliberal who hates progressive and antiestablishment candidates
Don’t be mad cause she’s right
@@sonyawins3175 okay wine mom
Bernie Sanders would have destroyed trump.
Wait, so Sanders won?
thewanderandhiscomp What aboot West Virginia?
thewanderandhiscomp I was just asking because of that moment in Moore’s documentary, I wasn’t trying to start an argument, I wasn’t even trying to start a debate, I was just asking.
Sanders won what? He lost without the superdelegates in 2016 and 2020.
Does this lady still work?
lol
Nothing’s private anymore...
Lol so funny to watch now. Her suoerdelegats will go to Bernie. If only.

I think it's time to unsubscribe. She's too establishment neoliberal for my taste. Vote Bernie
I will never vote for Bernie Sanders I can't wait for him to be so crusty old that he can't run for president anymore maybe Democrats will have a chance again
