There's a lot of entertainment in Dorsey's songs.

Whenever I hear this tune in general, I can’t get that Porky Pig short “Porky at the Crocadero” out of my head.

Yes, Looney Tunes. Many a child's first introduction to vintage music and the classics. Seriously. Unfortunately, it's no longer aired in lieu of serious nature shows.

I generally much prefer the Clambake Seven's instrumentals to their sides that featured vocals, as the latter tended to be on weak novelty material. There was only so much that Edythe Wright -- or anyone! -- could do with some of those dogs. This intro tells us where we are -- but not necessarily where we're going. After Pee Wee Erwin leads us through the melody, Johnny Mince, TD, Bud Freeman and, briefly, Moe Purtill show us around town. As their band name suggests, the Clambake Seven always sound as if they were having great fun.

I think that's Skeets Herfurt,as the label indicates, not Freeman, who I think was with BG at the time. Nice side, regardless.

@@danielweinstein5252 You're right -- as indicated by the label. It should have been an easy catch, anyway, for me -- as the tone and figures are nothing like Bud's. Yes, he had moved on to BG by that time. ... I'm going to have even less credibility! Sometimes I rattle these comments off so fast, and I'm invariably multi-tasking when I do.

@@Trombonology no worries! Just figured I'd pull your coattails. You're usually very fastidious!
