I HAVE A 2009 VANTAGE 4.3. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO. I MUST DISMOUNT MY PANELS BECOUSE THERE IS A TERRIBLE LITTLE RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM THE INTERIOR OF THESE. GREETINGS FROM SOUTH ITALY.
Superbly useful as usual. The paint on my grab handle has a few scratches and is a job to be done. I was going to get the bodyshop to do it, but I'm good with a rattle can so it's a job now for my garage.
Good point. I've not had to do that, but a senior Aston Technician told me about the dollar bill test. Lower the window a bit, place a dollar bill across the top of it, and then run the window up all the way. You should not be able to easily pull the bill out. If it pulls out easily, the fitment needs adjusted. Try several areas along the window near the front , middle and rear. Thanks for watching!
sorry for my question but is it possible to change out my own automatic gearbox on jackstands at home . i have purchased a zf26hp transmission and want to do the job myself on jackstand . just pull out the old transmission and replace it with the new one . my pump is not working and my aston dont shift in to gear i already have change all the solenoid and when i fill the transmission like in your video it would not take the oil . so i bought a used transmission with low miles to change it .thanks
I don't really know if you can. You have to drop the rear subframe and all the work related to that. Maybe? I've just not done it before and don't know if you'd have room to tackle it all. Best of luck. Post how it goes!
@@Aston1936 Thanks for the reply i will try to do the job myself and will post how it goes . i will do some more research how to tackle it . i know that they do it with a 2 post lift if that is the case i have no choise but to purchase a lift . i will keep u updated if it succeed . Thanks
YEARS later... still making DB9 videos! Thanks!
235 and counting ....
Excellent. You have provided me with the confidence to take my dòor card off and deal with the rattles!
Thank you for this - really appreciated - I need to reset the passenger window in my DB9 Volantè
You are a true asset to the AM community!
I just made my coffee, and see notification - *Aston1936* posted a new video - perfect timing. Thank you, Sir!
Not a very exciting episode, but will help someone. Hope it entertained a bit with the coffee. Thanks for watching.
Great video Steve, easy to follow and takes the “worry” out of tackling these jobs👍
Cool - thanks for that. My purpose is just that - make it so anyone can feel empowered to tackle it on their own cars. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this, have a random bolt which rattles around the door. Going to investigate..

perfect description ! I like your videos, that give me the confidence that I can afford a Aston when it’s broken 😊
Truly - my hope is these tips help people make the jump to get one, and then save a bundle fixing the simpler stuff themselves. Thanks for watching!

Best of luck with the project. I'd be interested to know how you come up with a color match for it. Thanks for watching!
A follow up video to this one would be “how to adjust the window glass” to stop high speed air leaks , cheers Steve

@@Aston1936 I’d be happy if it was hard to tug on a piece of cardboard let alone a dollar bill ! 😂 thanks Steve
Very nicely done! New subscriber...
Thank you! I appreciate you joining the channel and for watching.
Much easier than yanking off the door card of my 84 Corvette. Something breaks in that brittle plastic no matter how careful you are.
Agreed! I totally hate plastic interior components on 10+ year old cars. Guaranteed to break off. Thanks for watching!
