It's great what your doing here. It must be frustrating having so much knowledge on this product, yet so many heroes go online acting like they know better.
There's a snag to updating pre-2010 cars with the newer Pektron door modules. The older cars had modules that were made by Kostal (I think), and there was a different part number for each configuration. Huge pain for Aston, and everyone else. Oh, and they weren't great anyway. If you fit the new Pektron modules, you may find that some of our mirror functions (fold on lock, tilt on reverse) will no longer be configurable in the menu, or even AMDS. Found this out the hard way.
Sorry for the comment on such an old post....I have taken door lining off and disconnected the offside door module. It worked but then didn't drop the window on opening after a couple of days not being used. I can replace the module......or modules if they have to both be replaced? ..... but one thing I did notice was that the mirrors did not automatically fold on locking.....do they need to be reset. Oh...my car is a 58 reg Vantage N400 Roadster no 48 of 240....LOVE IT!
Are the old modules the same for both doors? If you replace the broken one and the working one with new modules then you will collect working old models.
You can try and manually reset the window dropping and popping back up for free and its way easier then mentioned in the video ( it was dropping and bringing the windows back up after a short period of time waiting after each action) I cant really properly explain it myself but trust me just search it up its really easy, i think redpants had a video about it on how to fix this issue. Search up some forums, my windows wouldn't go up but I fixed it myself, Saved myself a beautiful 900 euros!
1000GBP sounds like a bargain nowadays. San Francisco dealers want almost $3000 to do this job in 2024. I can't even buy just the parts online for 1000.

I replaced a shorted battery on a 2017 DB 11 and both door modules went bad. Tried reset and flash nothing works.

I thought it was fuses 82 and 83?
On V8 vantage yes, he might be talking about DB9
Surely that must be repairable. Refurbished door modules at 50% and only having to replace the faulty one.
