This isnt a give away build, you arent on a time crunch, take the time you feel you need to finish it to your high standard! We will be here the whole time! Love the dedication!
And I'm loving it. The extra detail is incredibly helpful. Just learning some of the differences between the 1UZ, 2UZ, and 3UZ (as well as transmission and wiring discussions) have been and will be insanely helpful for myself in the future and would have saved myself some time and money 15 years ago on another project I did, discussing the use of the 1UZ and using the R-154 transmission. Sarah used the W-58 and I understand why, but I absolutely loved using the R-154 behind my Ford engine project. Super smooth and super strong transmission. Toyota outdid themselves using it. I've learned so much watching these videos and I've remembered many things I had forgotten since my last project.
I've done a few harness merges, a handful of engine harnesses and one full body harness. I can't imagine how chaotic it would be if I tried to film them too. These passion projects cannot be rushed. We're here for the journey.
It takes as many videos as it takes. I'd rather see half a dozen wiring videos than get a false sense of the labor required. It just makes my respect for your skills grow. Keep at it so we can hear it fire up!
It takes the number of videos it takes, Sarah. Your dedication to doing this right and making it OEM (OEM+ maybe?) looking is commendable and I'm here for it.
Never apologize for your amazing talents. Your true followers watch your genius even when the videos are, as you say aren’t “interesting”. Make 20 wiring videos of you need, we’ll keep watching!
Love this series. I owned a '74 Celica, Cressidas from '78, '82, and '88 and I DREAMED of an 8 cyl version of any of them. This is GREAT for the enthusiast.
I hope your subscribers and viewers appreciate the stress-creating high-wire act you go through to be a UA-cam creator solely dependent upon the ever-changing YT metrics while having to keep up this insane schedule of output. There are benefits to being your own boss, but stress avoidance isn’t one of them. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
"Dont want to half ass it" - This is why MR DOS is a happy moving car and not a dead static bucket on wheels somewhere. The 74 celica will live. And there will be much rejoicing. Don't change a thing. This is educational and inspiring 👍
Indeed. I'm looking forward to that :). An expert on tuning alternate fuels - a must to do. Depending on your intentions for power/mpg - 30% on power would be very attainable, and some closure on the mpg gap. Higher CRs - more alcohol likes. In general the 3S run cooler, and produce more low end torque. The last video with Angel on the junkyard crawl brought a smile - the Nissan trucks, mine even has the original butter yellow lol. For some reason I thought you ran across a 4th gen Celica in there too for the fuse box/plugs. I have one of those too. Another reason I like what you done with MR DOS - that same generation 3S engine :). I will continue to watch with *baited* breath. Love your work.
It's very similar to the project Binky series from Bad Obsession Motorsports. Absolutely no corner cut and an incredible amount of effort into sharing the build on video.

Yes, pretty sure we know how much work goes in to your wiring. Your audience is here to see exactly that. We DON'T want to see you stressed out. Chill, film, take your time. These videos are my favorite from your channel as I LOVE how interesting and clear you describe what you are doing. In it for the long haul...
The decisions made in your restorations yield a "new car" vibe. Nothing looks amiss, yet the parts used are decades apart. The aluminum intake manifold looks amazing. Can't wait to see this baby run. Keep up the fantastic work. Bravo!! 👏🏼
I love your wiring videos. It isn't covered much in Internet car videos, you do a great job of it, and the scale of wiring has changed enormously between 70's cars (that I could sketch a working diagram from memory for) and modern cars that are so complex. There is so much to learn here. Please keep doing just what you do!

You are by far the best UA-camr to watch if you want to learn something about cars. Keep up the fantastic work, but remember to take some time for yourself. We will still be here, regardless of the frequency of videos.
You and I are so alike it’s scary. I’ll drop everything to go investigate whatever jet is flying by. After 20 years in the Navy fixing avionics, your wiring videos are my favorites! Your attention to detail and humor are always on point.
I want to hear the Celica run. Keep doing what you need to do. When you are done, it's going to be a brand new car. I appreciate the way you are paying attention to detail.
Throttle cable would be period correct, but drive by wire will make the tuning much easier when you get there. And since you're using an aftermarket ECU, you can make it essentially feel like there is a cable, unlike modern cars that have lag for "emissions and fuel economy". Also, next time you do wiring schematics, get yourself some kind of touch screen monitor. It'll be way easier than a whiteboard, and you can save the schematic.
@Sarah -n- Tuned, please keep doing what you have been doing. It's not the specifics of what you are doing that is helpful. It's hearing your thought process on how to approach these repairs that is of great benefit. THANKS!!!!
Sarah, don't beat yourself up. We really appreciate all of your videos! Your attention to detail and your commitment to sticking with your theme is totally awesome.
The wiring videos are actually quite fascinating. There's almost no-one publishing this information to the detail that you are doing. I must say that it was a lot easier rewiring my 1954 Pontiac's SBC engine. One wire alternator, two wires (power and tach) to the HEI distributor and the starter circuit. Done!
I give massive props for understanding that pile of spaghetti otherwise known as wiring. The electrical system is the most intimidating part of a vehicle.
