- Here, I am presenting what I believe is 2 of the hardest levels in the campaign in Extreme Difficulty. Both of these levels are checkpoint runs (Make Up time events) whereby you complete the course under the time given. The 2 levels are Stage 4 level 2 and Stage 6 level 3 (South Dakota 240, Buffalo Gap, SD). Not sure whats the name of Stage 4 level 2. This video shows 2 cars for each level with minimal to no NOS usage.
Watch in 1080p, 60FPS. Sadly cutscenes are capped at 30FPS. Played with keyboard and manual transmission.
I've made a few extreme run guides back on very challenging levels like Stage 6's checkpoint run, but I've never made one for Stage 4.

0:30 - Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 valentino balboni (Stage 4 Checkpoint Run)
2:54 - Mazda MX-5 (Stage 4 Checkpoint Run)
5:10 - Nissan Fairlady 240z (Stage 6 Checkpoint Run)
8:21 - Renault Megane RS (Stage 6 Checkpoint Run)
This video initially isn't part of my upload schedule but for some reasons, I felt un-easy in making the Tier 6 campaign walkthrough that I feel I had to make this video using the cars provided/restricted in these levels. Of course, I may continue this series with other games.
Now the car choices. For the Lamborghini Gallardo, it's the most popular car choice for the beginning of Stage 4. For the Mazda MX-5 and Nissan Fairlady 240z, I wanted to choose some of the weakest engine accelerating cars. Now for the Renault Megane, it's because a viewer keeps requesting for Renault cars, so here it is.
Hopefully this video can help if you are struggling in these 2 levels. Of course, car choice matter (the cars shown here are not the best) and it will become much easier if you use strong cars. For Stage 4, I recommend the Shelby Daytona and for Stage 6, I recommend the Golf GTi MK1. - Ігри

Which extreme difficulty campaign level is the hardest for you in NFS The Run?
stage 5
IsuckAtDriving (MSWGR) For me definitely the one in stage 5. The combination of tight time constraints and black ice made it hard for me to get a clean run.

Stage 5,the check run is close to impossible without NOS and cuts with the normal campaign car

I did make it through, but not without being "Too Slow" on many attempts and "Try Again" many times. :3

the first one wasnt hard, passed it like a champ, but my biggest setback was the second one, my god i spent a fucking day trying to pass it, next day i nailed it on first try lol

Always loved how this Gallardo sounded like a plane/jet in this game and also had a fitting aero kit that we could pick....
My favorite kit is Pagani Huayra aero kit. It looks badass.
Pagani Zonda Cinque is the best car in this game, in my opinion :p

Extreme difficulty is how it should be, honestly. A game as hard as this is what makes it fun. It really tests your patience and consistency. Rage will be normal, but, what matters is that you keep trying.
And best of all, the sense of accomplishment when you finally nail that pissy section youve been struggling with for hours

There are just challenging and test your persistence in order that at the moment you deal with the goals, make you feel satisfied, if you want to talk about the meaning of "fun" games, then we need to mention Saints Row series, or those kind of games where the difficulty is just something irrelevant, and make you feel as a badass character

It's one of those perfect fit situations. It's an all or nothing high stakes music with a game with that exact same philosophy. But this music would feel out of it in let say underground?

stage 5 is just fucking hell... i was stuck on the time attack event for about 4 hours
but i have completed the extreme run and my time after all is 2:03:47 which is kinda slow in comparison with another people’s times...

these two the hardest!? Boi the last two in the industrial stage were the heaviest shit i ever faced on that game. Damn Cayennes shooting at me even when they were flippin over.
The second last one of stage 8 I can vaguely remember you must quickly block the 200mph approaching Cayenne.

The music playing on the first one is just so fitting too... always loved that song from The Run
It's kind of cool how the jumps after the checkpoints are almost synced with the music so that when he lands the music kicks in again
For me the hardest are:
1. Penultimate race (Calvin Garret)
2. Penultimate race in Chicago (a battle race in a VERY cramped space and with the mobs after you)
3.The final race in Chicago (where you have to escape the mobs)
4.The final race from the stage "The plains" (Calvin Garret)
I find the race before the Calvin Garret in the Stage 6 the hardest race along the race before the helicopter in stage 8
For penultimate race, I strongly recommend McLaren MP4-12C

These 2 missions caught me off guard. I was chilling thru all the missions on extreme then these 2 popped up and I was oh wtf ok

The first one helped me a lot when doing an extreme play through
i don't remember the first time trial being difficult at all save for me being screwing up on basic things but the second one you shown was just straight up torture it makes Melissa's UG1 race felt like UG2's freeroam mode in comparison
The challenge I had, playing this on Extreme difficulty and driving the Shelby Super Snake GT500, fast car but on corners was tight
yeah, they all might be hard but i'm sure the snowy checkpoint part on independence pass was harder than them all

It's a technical issue. The didn't plan for you to do it so fast at this point. Check 7:05 it happens again
Among the modern nfs titles, this might be the only one that has proper, non-obstructive, camera animation when the car drops.
I don't get why the devs prefer blocking the entire view with the cars butt for a second, it gives me crashing anxiety.

It's been forever since I played this, but I recall the stage I struggled with most on extreme difficulty was one in Stage 9 (I think) where you have to pass 6 and cops are involved.
The opponents have INSANE rubberbanding and even on my best runs I would only successfully pass the 6th opponent right before the finish.
I also vaguely recall one of those "hold the lead" events in stage 2 going down the mountain where, if you had to use the reset on first opponent, it was impossible to even catch him in time because of how it respawned you.
I noticed that too. To counter it, I closed the game and reopened it to get the cutscene, which allowed me to start while the RX7 was still braking for the corner. Nonetheless, it still gave quite a small window of opportunity to pass the RX7 even with the cutscene.
IsuckAtDriving (MSWGR) Can you make a comparision between driving the events first on Easy and then on Extreme, cause I've noticed myself that the times are much less on Easy than on Extreme (about 30sec faster)
That first time track event has the best soundtrack. I downloaded the whole OST by Brian Tyler but still cant find that track, what's it called? It only comes up for time events

Oh I remember this one, I repeated this run more than 50 times and took me 2 days lmao. And just one sheer luck he stuck on some intersection and I can focus driving fast.

I'm trying to do Stage 6 level 3 rn and god damn is it my kryptonite. The stupid twisting turns, the fences that if you touch once kills your run, the traffic and then dramatic music correlating with your anticipation to cross the checkpoint at 00:01 left, god damn it's just a nightmare. I hate looking at how horrible the mountains look too.
Good luck to people doing this, especially on extreme. It's possible but tedious. I've done 50ish runs and still trying to get it done. got to the last checkpoint once out of those attempts, funnily on my first attempt
Challenge:- Try the 3rd/4th race with Dodge Challenger RT(1970)....it drifts a lot. 👍👍👍👍👍

The hardest ones I can remember are:
- The first time you face Marcus in the One-77 (one level before he spins you out on the mountain)
- Racing against Calvin Garrett's SLS AMG (both times, but the first one is harder)
- Chicago Approach (one level before Marcus shoots at you)

when i racing in make up time in hard difficulty with aston martin v12 vantage has pain on my head
Currently using the 911 GT3 RS. The car is a figurative god at rounding corners and hairpins while overtaking cars, HOWEVER, under steer kicks in at high speeds, and the car becomes a lazy ass at dodging traffic on the straights.

when i play with 60 FPS, my car sound is extremely glitchy and i dont want to play with 30 FPS
I still have that sound glitch. Did you turn V-sync on in your Nvidia settings so that it's capped at 60FPS? Locking in at 60FPS reduces the sound glitch (but still there).

Is it just me or does the checkpoints on 1:31 and 2:02 have a bigger hitbox than normal?
The second gave me fucking nightmares. Good lord that event is hard but luckily I was able to beat it today on extreme...
Till I watched this video I only believed BMW Z4 was able to clear these stages in extreme. But damn, how did gallardo make it without NOS and that bad handling it has... I tried that with Nissan GTR but no way could get past the 1st checkpoint... barely once but then no time left for the last checkpoint...
And that Buffalo Gap Road, I went with Lexus and the Handling made it so hard that I was stuck for 4 hours on that road before I could go ahead. Cuz the Lexus is bound to drift alot even if you don't handbrake and the traffic popping up made it insanely difficult. I'd recommend picking any car with easy handling for that road, Z4 does pretty well

If you can't do it with the gallardo, that means you have trouble keeping your speed up. Try the Porsche it has better acceleration
Try to maintain your average speed by maximize use of nitrous during straight and minimize the slide and braking during cornering.

This game is amazing, those two checkpoints are really easy. I think the hardest was Calvin Garrett in the plains. I also am driver level 40 so really any stage is a piece of cake, I have a ps3 and I am still so happy that people play online

RTF 56 Surprisingly, yeah. I've been playing with people for the past week. Ranges from 2 people to a full lobby. The downside tho is it's mostly only on mixed, so I can't unlock other cars that need objectives for other playlist >:(
