Amazing interview Bryan - congrats to Shawn and the whole Skydance team. They should feel proud that they're really at the front of pushing interactive gaming experiences. Post patch Behemoth is a real pleasure to play and I hope it does really well for the team.
Bryan, I know interviews aren’t your favorite, but I just have to say, you’re an amazing interviewer. I really wish there was more content like this. I already bought Behemoth but haven’t played it yet, and listening to this first is most likely going to make my gameplay feel so much richer. Thank you both for this and have a great rest of the year!
Dude, thank you so much! You're right, interviews aren't my favorite thing to do but this one was fun. So I've already got another one planned for January and maybe a few more in 2025 if I can get them set up during some of the slower weeks! Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Cheers Bryan and Shawn, this was a great interview, especially because Shawn was a real person and not just speaking as Skydance spokesperson, thank you both for being genuine folk.
Thanks for the tip! When Skydance reached out to me to do this interview I said the only way I'd do it would be if Shawn was willing to (and had permission to) speak freely. Ever since The Foglands interview I vowed to never let another dev use my platform to lie to us -- which is also why I make sure I can play the game in question before every interview
@@WithoutParole I get why u feel like the Foglands dev lied but also I've interacted with those devs quite a bit and I feel confident it is a simple matter of his naivety and not being well attuned to judging his own game, and also being very excited about his game and in love with it in a genuine way. Behemoth was probably the most fun I've had in a game in a long time! Not a perfect game, but felt so great to play and the mechanics are so fun to mess around with! Time just flew by for me as I played it! Great interview!

Great conversation! I am absolutely loving Behemoth - on my way to the 3rd behemoth now. Would love to see a boss rush feature added! I ENJOY the journey to each Behemoth because it feels earned. The grappling hook is WAY more fun than I would have expected and leaping while climbing 👌 (eat your heart out horizon) I've bought about 20 games this winter and Behemoth is the one that keeps me coming back the most. Great interview thank you so much Would love to talk hours with Shawn. We need more interviews like this. One of the biggest issue for VR is there's no way to feel VR on flat screen video. But once you test it you want it.
Awesome interview! Can't wait for more Behemoth. Been playing other games the last couple of weeks since beating it but it is still firmly stuck in my mind. My new favorite franchise!!
After Bryan and AJ’s input, I bought the game, then I saw the metacritic scores, and as someone who does rely on reviews to help decide which games to purchase, as they aren’t cheap to most people brand new, I was disappointed/surprised. I understand that many of the reviewers had the pre patch version… but let me tell you… after the fight with the 2nd behemoth… I can confidently say that the critic metacritic score is not an accurate representation of this game imo. New Game Plus is Number One. I'm enjoying my playthrough so much it's knocked off Bonelab and Batman from my Winter playorities! Thank you for this, WP.
Wonderful discussion guys. Well done Bryan, bringing back responsible enjoyment from the thing we all love… GAMES BABY! After tossing several vertical coins in my head between Behemoth and Alien Rogue Incursion, I finally plumped on Behemoth, so I’m about an hour in and still feeling my way in to it. great interview! Love Behemoth, you can be proud, really hope there will be dlc and maybe a sequel. Love VR and so happy we have quality games, keep it up!
I just want Archangel 2 on PSVR2..Skydance made the absolute BEST Mech game in VR of all time, that I still play to this day on PSVR1 (on my 5th playthrough now) you CAN NOT let this series just die..it needs to be more open world (ish) w more combat amd NG+ mode..but if worse came to worse I would absolutely buy Archangel 1 again as a PSVR2 port if I have to. i would cash in ALL my VR wishes to see Archangel rise again on PSVR2 in ANY form possible 💯
I did not play Batman Arkham Shadow (PSVR 2 is my only headset, but I have a feeling I may have liked it better), but Skydance's Behemoth was my favorite game since Saints and Sinners 1.
I think S&S1 was very unbalanced and too rubbery when it came out. With such little back pack space to forage with, I felt like I was burning through days way too quick in the beginning (80% was survival essentials for the next day, 20% for progress) And quickly lost interest because I felt constantly behind when it said. 'The dead grow in number' every time I started a new day and got such little accomplished. I feel like VRAF mechanics were so good at that early time, it kind of carried the game. Retribution felt more fair, still rubbery but not as frustratingly (ax bouncing off zombies heads constantly in S&S1)
Yo, the game is awsome espacially on BARBARIAN DIFFICULTY, devs should make more content on ARENA MODE....bring that fast, I survived 15 waves for now...all is done few times, lets gooooo 🔨🗡️💪
Great interview and cool dude. I don’t think that many people are afraid to be uncomfortable because they experiment with all kinds of games and other things they don’t know for sure they will like. I do think there’s a chunk of people that have this debilitating fear that if they try VR and like it game publishers will instantly stop making flat games and they’re like a toddler clinging to that baby rattle. If you even look like you’re going to try to take that shit away there’s going to be hell to pay.
I haven't picked up behemoth yet but it looks great and will definatelt be buying it. Sounds like you received some negative feedback which hurts but it looks like you guys did a fantastic job and I'm looking forward to playing it
Great Interview....despite the 4 Behemoths Spoiler(where was the warning?😉 ).........I'm only on Number 2 of Supposidly 3........Makes me want to buy the game......again.
Would love to play it but after being available for preorder on Asian Playstation Stores it suddenly dissapered on launch! Still no sign of it. For reference I am in Hong Kong but from what I understand it disappeared from all storefornts in Asia. Any idea if/when it will be available?
I remember my mom would get motion sick if she just watched us playing the original Mario Kart. I don't have a problem with it but I do have friends that have tried VR and just say they can't handle it. Don't think it will be a problem for the new generation of gamers who grew up staring at screens while riding around in cars with their parents since they were toddlers!
I’ve been on a deep dive in your reviews the last few days. I finally snagged my psvr2 and I’m browsing for games, buying, and wish listing them for later. I’m hyped for Sub Side. Thanks for all of the reviews. Do you have any recommendations that stand out from the rest?
The review he’s refering to is Ian’s at Eurogamer. I do trust Ian quite a bit. But I do trust Bryan too. Maybe Ian simply reviewed the pre-release build and did not wait for patch as Bryan did? Dunno, I’m playing this on February when the physical version comes out, so I guess I’ll know for myself then. What I will say with the big releases at the back end of 2024 is that I’m starting to sense extreme fanboy vibes in the VR community which have seemed to cloud judgement. I’m talking specifically about Alien, which people swear by and by any metric is an average game at best. I want VR to thrive as we all do here, but man, we have to keep things straight.
The most important thing to remember is that you can still trust/respect someone and disagree with their viewpoints --- as I frequently do with Ian. His review of post-patch Behemoth was VERY positive but because of some checkpoint issues (which still confuse me) he gave it 2/5 stars. I also didn't agree with his opinion of Madison VR or Crossfire: Sierra Squad. But those disagreements don't make me think any less of him or his viewpoints
@ Respect is there, of course, mate. I was only trying to make sense of why the two VR outlets I trust the most gave it a 4/10 and a 8+/10 respectively. Seems like a wild difference!
First thing I do after getting past the blizzard. Oh look this looks like either a path that leads nowhere or path that might lead to something... Led to something but I'm over here like I wonder if I can take the blanket too. Ended up getting stuck in the cave and having to restart the game 😂 And I couldn't find an unstuck button in the settings
bruh i was about to comment "finally first" but then i realized youtube banned me for commenting for 24 hrs for some reason so i had to switch my account and you beat me to it lol
I bought Behemoth on PC a week or two ago. I did enjoy most things about it but some of the combat controls amd movement felt a little clunky to me so resulting in me getting a refund. I'm really hoping that has been patched by now or will be because I would really like to purchase the game again and enjoy it because I know overall it is an amazing game.
It really sucks they have to cater to the gamers who have no attention span =\ I would've loved if Behemoth was a 30 hour game. If a bunch of players never got to see the coolest stuff because of it, fuck em, they still bought your game 🤷♂️
Great interview - huge disagree about how to approach motion-sickness… Telling people to power through is the absolute worst possible advice. Even though there are rare occasions where it can work, it’s far more likely to make acclimation that much more difficult.
Oooh. What a great Christmas present to wake up to!

I haven't picked up behemoth yet but it looks great and will definatelt be buying it. Sounds like you received some negative feedback which hurts but it looks like you guys did a fantastic job and I'm looking forward to playing it
45:44 RE7 was a game that always made me sick too. Whereas I could play other notorious games like DRIVECLUB VR no problem.
44:54 ❤
Great interview!
Disc physical release for PSVR2 for EU?
On 14 of February, at least on Spain
That was awesome. Thx Santa!
@@nomanisanisland Santa paws, swipes… meows.. 😊
Thanks both for a great conversation, would a pvp battle Royal be possible within the game world🤔🙏
Great Interview....despite the 4 Behemoths Spoiler(where was the warning?😉 ).........I'm only on Number 2 of Supposidly 3........Makes me want to buy the game......again.
Dlc skins expanions added content? sword of omens come to my hand
Cats with pizza or pizza with cats?
Would love to play it but after being available for preorder on Asian Playstation Stores it suddenly dissapered on launch! Still no sign of it. For reference I am in Hong Kong but from what I understand it disappeared from all storefornts in Asia. Any idea if/when it will be available?
This was a great interview.
Very good exclusive interview. I really enjoyed it up until it all went to shit with K-pop and Guns n Roses. 🤣
For sure! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts next month! :D
I'm here
bruh i was about to comment "finally first" but then i realized youtube banned me for commenting for 24 hrs for some reason so i had to switch my account and you beat me to it lol
A little disappointed that Bryan didn't say "Skydance's" before every single mention of the word "Behemoth"
... but great interview, nonetheless!
