    What's the camera gear item you've been patiently waiting on 👀??
    **oh BTW, made the mistake on the rolling shutter part - it's caused by wide angle distortion and ibis. Thank you @Wildridefilms for the correction!

    Your skill and creativity in editing is truly inspiring. A lot of people bandy around the phrase, 'Netflix quality', but your editing is top notch for this rapid style. You don't just use fast cuts, each cut is in a carefully curated sequence that tells the story without being overdone or cheesy.

    As for the gear I'm patiently waiting (saving) for. I'm getting the following:
    1. Sigma 56mm f1.4 for portrait photography and to get really cool portrait video shots.
    2. Sirui 35mm T1.2 cinema lens because I'm a (aspiring?) video guy and believe that could be the main focal length that I'd use for my productions
    3. Panasonic 7-14mm lens for my real estate work
    4. Leica 12-60mm F4 lens as my every day walk around zoom lens
    5. GH6 to complete everything for me to have a multi cam setup for podcasts, live stream & video productions that I currently create.
    6. Universal Cage with a side and top handle that can support a G85 and GH6 (if possible) so i can easily switch between the 2.
    I currently own the G85 with the 25mm f1.7 with ND filter, 45-150mm and an old Tamron 28-75mm APSC sensor with an adapter (I don't like the images from this and looking forward to getting the Leica lens to replace this). And I have a gimbal.

    Wow, the quality of your videos are phenomenal! Yeah that lens is a gem. BTW, the corner wobbles are not due to the rolling shutter. They are caused by wide angle distortion in combination with the IBIS. Panasonics newest cameras since the S5ii and G9ii have an electronic correction for it.

    And all these with a G85? Cmon 🎉. The shots are magnificent. What settings do you use to film, what color profile, and how do you color grade them? I hope to even achieve 1% of these edits 🥹 Keep producing content and inspiring people with a G85 xD

      @nigelbarrostoo thanks Nigel!🙏🏼🙌🏼 it's definitely a solid lens, though it be nice if it was also a focus by linear lens rather than wire lens at times - I tried it with a focusing system. But other than that and the distortions, I like this lens a lot!

    Apart from you getting these amazing clean shots with the G85, which is insane all in on itself....You going out there with a gimbal and a camera, and not caring about what people think of you and just having fun and doing what you love doing, is a thing worth commmending you for.
    Really awesome job!
    And I gotta ask, is there any denosing and upscaling/sharpening used in your shots? As an ex g85 user I cant even comprehend that you're using the same camera I replaced because the shots didnt come out "clean" enough.

    • @TheCommodoreProductions
      @TheCommodoreProductions  3 місяці тому

      @borborcarcar thank you! Ya it's a bit "intimidating" to go out and film in public on your own, especially with more gear in use cause you will get looks from everyone haha. I still feel a bit like that depending on location - some spots are just for handheld and some spots I feel comfortable with a gimbal.
      I only sharpen shots that are out of focus a bit, which is every now and then. And I also warp stabilize (with no motion) my handheld still shots sometimes as well.

    I was in the market for a wide angle lens for my mft cameras recently and this 9mm 1.7 was almost the one I chose. I rented it for a few spec shoots and one commercial shoot and I was really impressed with the quality of it, but after that I've had a chance to try the ttartisan 7.5mm f2 fisheye and I ended up buying it. The overall quality in 1080p is good enough and because of my 2 main clients being a gym and a boxing club the option to go fisheye is very nice, works well for real estate too if you de-fish it in post. The deal breaker for most people would be probably that you can't easily use filters with that lens and you don't get any AF even for photo use, but honestly for 140$ you can't complain much.
    Btw. Love your videos and especially your editing style! Your content inspired me to incorporate more dynamic editing into my own productions

    • @TheCommodoreProductions
      @TheCommodoreProductions  3 місяці тому

      Yes, ttartisan is a great choice to get given the pricing and what you needed it for! It's also on my radar of lenses to try, so perhaps I will get one one of these days.
      And thank you!!🙏

    i can't believe you're able to pull such amazing clips out of this camera, as much as i love this lens, its still out of my budget, any alternative budget recommendations with af? I've been looking on some 7artisans but the ones i like don't have af

    • @TheCommodoreProductions
      @TheCommodoreProductions  3 місяці тому +1

      @raven7341 thanks! Honestly, it really depends on what you want to capture. If you are really looking to get a wide angle lens with the option of AF in a MFT system, i dont think there's many options. You could sacrifice the AF for manual focusing, which gives you more options and is also more budget friendly.
      I think at the end of the day, know what you prioritize and what you will be happy using for the long term or for the value. Seeing that you value AF (or at least from what I am interpreting) and want it to be more budget friendly, then I would wait for the 9mm Lumix lens to go sale or even buy it second hand (second hand option I think you can get a good price for it, so maybe do this).

    Loved your video -super insightful! I recently snagged a Lumix G85 for just $250, and it only has 220 shutter counts! Now I’m on the hunt for its first lens. Any recommendations for a MFT newbie?

      @TheCommodoreProductions  2 місяці тому

      Thank you! Glad you found the video insightful and welcome to the G85 club ;) You got yours for a killer deal!
      And yes -25mm lens is a good lens to start if you like to do a bit of everything and also get a nice option for bokeh (or blurry background shots) in your shot (use it at f2.8 and lower). given the aperature f1.7, this lens also is good for lowlighting for this camera. Though it isn't super wide, I think it can still capture everything you need in making all sorts of videos

    Hey mane, I have the g85 as well. I however, have an ultra wide lens called the laowa 7.5mm. I was watching a video on the lens, and someone noted that their warping effect went away when they turned off camera stabilization. Hopefully it helps you. It may not.

      @ you’re welcome! Your videos are awesome. I’ve been watching them for years ever since I bought this camera. Actually you were influential in my decision to buy it! You’re very talented. FYI I tried it with my 7.5mm and I do believe the crazy warping effect went away! The footage is shakier though, so I do believe it’s best with an intentional handheld look, or a gimbal. Congrats on all the subs and views. You deserve it!

    Great video!
    I actually using Samyang 10mm T3.1 EF with micro 4/3 adapter (just because I need a lens for canon system too)
    It's very wide but there's several problems comparing to 9mm: very heavy, very big and sometimes you feeling that focus didn't right (at canon there is no such problem)

    • @TheCommodoreProductions
      @TheCommodoreProductions  3 місяці тому

      @MarrMart thanks!
      Ahh I see - I guess it's more to fit both systems, getting more use out of it. Did you also attach a speed booster with the m4/3 adapter? And if so does it show lots of vignetting on the edges?

    • @MarrMart
      @MarrMart 3 місяці тому +1

      @@TheCommodoreProductions
      If I attach dummy adapter then there will be no vignetting. Electronic adapter will show no vignetting too. But in photos you can see lens hood at top and below (but auto-crop hides. At 4k footage no lens hood either.
      And the other problem you can attach any filter to the lens. You need the expensive big thing to that. So the only solutions is to put glass of filter inside adapter or put the glass (or plastic) of filter to the lens.

    • @xXMr_NormalXx
      @xXMr_NormalXx 28 днів тому

      Manual focus is the go-to on the g85. Autofocus is AWFUL on it

    • @TheCommodoreProductions
      @TheCommodoreProductions  27 днів тому

      @luiis8057 ya so I would manual focusing- two ways of going about it.
      1. By manually focus the using the lens focusing itself
      2. Pre-focus your shot ahead of time - so essentially have the dial of the AF/AE turned to MF. Then press the AF/AE button to focus, and make sure you are focusing on your subject. Finally record.
