I personally am not a big fan of gen 5 at all. For context gen 5 was my introduction to pokemon and I’ve played them the most out of every other generation and well…..I can’t help but notice the same problems for both the originals and sequels. I should start saying that gen 5 is my least favorite gen of all time. First of all the region itself it waaaaaay to linear, even in the sequels they don’t fixed it by much. Now it’s just two disconnected lines???? 😵💫 Wat??? Take for example Sinnoh, has alot of intersections and is very large and diverse in climate. (Meadows, bogs, tundra,subtropical, foggy mountains, beaches). Second the pokemon where pretty much destined for failure as their designs are just not appealing or flattering at all in my opinion. And most people can agree the designs of these pokemon really suffered as a result of making waaaay to many designs. Kalos for example has very few pokemon but makes great use with every single one. Even the “bad” designs have something interesting and unique to them that make them appealing and interesting. And finally one of my personal big problems with the story is that you as the player are told you are the hero but like none of the events that lead up to the finale only happen because of other characters actions sooo it really begs the question, are you really the hero or just some by stander? But for what it’s worth I do quite like gen 5’s story. It’s not perfect but it’s one of the best in Pokémon in my opinion weeeell actually now that I think about it gen 3’s story might be better. Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver don’t have a dramatic story yet are considered some of the best well crafted games of all time. To me a Pokémon game doesn’t need a good story in order to be a good game.

Like, have u played pokemon SWSH which definitely has the worst pokemon story in the the entire franchise. Also Pokemon Platnium or ORAS are also one of the most popular games and have an incredible story, so a direct correlation between the story writing and the suffering of other game mechanics is not existent.That was already the case because story writers are not in the same team as video game designers. Also some of the most popular characters play a big part in the story, like any story u relate to these characters while the story progresses. Characters like Lillie, N, Cynthia, Arven, Steven or Zinnia.
@@OmEn2. I’ve never played any Pokémon games gen 7 and up. I dont support the lower quality of Pokémon games. 🤔 I’ve been replying hgss & I’ve noticed hgss story takes more of a back seat. The focus is more on the players adventure and less on a dramatic story. For example there are small moments on certain days of the week that aren’t part of the game’s story yet make the players adventure feel unique and memorable. These small events are small sure but allow deeper immersion into the game’s mechanics and make the region feel alive and like a town where small events are happening. If I recall correctly I’ve never seen any moments of silver’s back story. We only get to know his character and personality and no back story, unless you were one of the people who caught Celebi (Event only) in which Celebi travels you back in time, which you do actually get to see silver’s back story of Giovani being silver’s father but unless you didn’t get Celebi then you wouldn’t have know that unless you searched it up or something which is a bit of a stretch to me. Also some of the most memorable character’s in my opinion are actually characters who aren’t part of the story at all. If your like me and play a Pokémon game a thousand times, in X and Y one of my favorite characters is the old man in anti star city. You as the player help him in passing of the recent death of his wife 😢. If You give him a Pokémon and let him keep the Pokémon after you beat the Pokémon league, once you go back to his house the old man is gone and you have a poke ball of the Pokémon you gave to him and a letter saying you helped him pass. And having Yveltal (Death)and Xerneas (Life) was very fitting for a short simple story outside the game’s story. These moments are small sure but are very surreal as many people in real life have gone through something similar. Another moment I can recall from X and Y is the girl from the battle château calling your style ugly and I was both shocked and started laugh as that was an unexpected thing I’ve never seen in a Pokémon game ever. In a nut shell the small things matter. Of course some people can just be totally ok with a good story and characters for the main game but once the Main game is over usually there’s not much to do. To me it’s a matter of a good balance of good mechanics, designs and small events that make you feel invested into the game as a whole and not just the main story.

Which is fine tbf, but taking in consideration that pokemon games are usually meant for kids it's understandable why gamefreak put more effort on a engaging and dramatic story and neglected the smaller thing that were usually hidden, because kids sometimes wouldn't fully comprehend them or wouldn't find them at all. Remember that kids don't have a long attentionspan and therefore have to be entertained for as long as possible before they grab another game. It's true that the quality of the post game suffers from this but seeing how the newer games (gen 7,8,9) outsell the older games like HGSS it makes sense why game freak would choose such an approach. They are a company after all. Especially the new Pokemon game Scarlet/Violet have an incredible story one of the best in the entire franchise which explains how it outsold games like X/Y in just 1-2 Months

UNOVA HAS TOO MANY AMAZING BUG-TYPE POKEMON DESIGNS Leavanny, Escavalier, Galvantula, the f*cking awesome Volcarona, it even introduced first "legendary" bug-type pokemon Genesect The soundtrack is fantastic, I loved what I listened when my pokemon was low HP or when the gym leader only had one pokemon left Black/White has one of the best stories and N is the best antagonist ever... change my mind boy
Agreed, Unova was when bugs began to shine. Since then we've gotten the absolute unit Vikavolt, the badass fire centipede, Frosmoth, and giga ufo bug. Even vivillion is at the very least super cute. I love them all
Aside from Giratina's entrance in Platinum, there has been no moment as hype as seeing Zekrom or Reshiram roar at you with a non-static sprite and their theme starting up. That moment is engraved in my soul. I think I was like 20/21 when BW came out and I've forever held it as my favorite since. I'm working on completing the dex in White after finding out I never did it back then.
Gen 5 was my introduction to Pokémon. I’d just got my first DSi, and Black was my first game. Instantly got me hooked. Years later and I’m still playing Pokémon, even competitively. It’s crazy how quickly I got so far into the franchise. You deserve so many more subscribers, too. Your content is really well put together and you just seem really cool.
Black 2 was my first Pokémon game, and I could literally write a whole novel about how much I love it. I cannot express enough how fun, well made, and fantastic black 2 and white 2 are. --- On a side note, I’ve been in the process of completing my Pokédex in black 2 for a couple years now. I’m currently only 80 Pokémon away from finishing it, and once I do, it’ll be a long term achievement I’ve been waiting so long to accomplish.
This mans spitting straight facts, for the people who complain about "oh well gen 5 has all these new pokemon, wheres my charizard?" grow a pair buddy. No one was attached to new pokemon in previous gens until people grew to love them so having a pokemon game comprised of entirely new pokemon was an amazing idea and honestly a great break from all of the nostalgic gen 1 pokemon which you now roll your eyes when seeing them because there isnt a god damn single moment someones not holding a picture of gengar, charizard, gardevoir, etc. Not to mention every new game just forces the same god damn pokemon down your throat every time too.
Dude you could walk down the street and see 7 adults wearing a gengar t-shirt. One of my best friends has him tattooed on his leg lol I played this in high school. I remember there being some genwunners in my school at the time hating on the game. (They of course still bought it) I completely annihilated them in battle and in my trash talking skills every chance I got. They were some of my inspiration to get good at pokemon and learn how to play competitive. I just hated their guts for hating on new pokemon before they seen or used them just because there geodud would be locked behind the endgame.
They were overlooked at the time because they came at the end if the DS lifecycle and just before the shift to 3D models, but I've seen a lot of appreciation for the games as people rediscover them.
Pokemon Black was the first game I got, I believe I got it on my 10th birthday, or maybe my 9th. I've grown very attached to all the pokemon, and growing up with the game and replaying the game itself multiple times has made me realise how mature the story line is. The vast amount of pokemon in the game is brilliant, it gives to new experiences when you don't get to rely and fall back on old faithfulls like Garchomp, Lucario and Gyarados to name a few. The 3D animations of the game really made it stand out compared to past games. It showed a risk that GameFreak and Nintendo made to make this game as great as it could be, and it worked
Thankyou for being the voice to people who struggle to explain how beautiful this generation was ❤ You explained all the reasons why this game is number 1 haha, for me, the reason is the combination of all these 3 elements - story ( a part 2 to extend the story with the realase of b2w2, holy moly) , geography ( every place in the game is decorated with so much uniqueness) and finally the music ( i honestly feel blessed to have the opportunity to listen to some of these beautiful tracks) , so yeah these 3 elements made the generation stand out so beautifully ❤️
It had to be the black sheep of the franchise... the best damn one.. im 30 and i remember the shear amount of hype around this game my senior year of high school. Most the people at my school got it. Alot of people had not even played a game since the original gameboy. It was so much fun. . I found out years later pokemon fans despised these games and the hardcore fans are the worst 😅
That’s actually the one thing I disagree with, while I don’t think that the anime deserves as much hate as it gets, I definitely feel it was one of the worst seasons. The games are fire tho
I'm sorry but I can't agree with this, best wishes was easily the weakest point in the entire show- Iris deserve to be written better, but the anime just made her Misty without good dialogue, Cilan's only substantial unique trait is the "connoisseur of everything" running gag, and I just don't see how it was meant to be funny. Ash somehow regressed back to how he was in season one, minus the witty comebacks and good lines. But none of that compares to the simultaneous, sidelining and butchering of the TRio. If they needed more competent villains, they could have made new characters, or not severely underutilize team plasma, but instead they decided to mess with perfection. It's not like they stopped needing minor antagonists, they made random wild Pokemon fill the role all the time. Point is, the protagonists are the weakest in the series (Goh isn't even a close second) and the antagonists are just BAD. That largely just leaves the action scenes and well... When the one battle the season is remembered for is the most controversial (and stupid, there's a way I could explain it if I wanted to but wasn't in the explanation the show gave so it doesn't matter) loss ash and Pikachu ever experienced, I think that's pretty telling of how forgettable the action scenes were. But I will say that replacing volt tackle, the signature move of the Pikachu line, with electro ball, a move that in the context of the show is functionally inferior to thunderbolt (an electric type ranged option that doesn't paralyze? Why would ash ever use it? It wouldn't be so bad if the moves speed based power was taken advantage of, but to my knowledge the show never even mentioned it) So if the characters are stupid at best and the action is underwhelming overall, what does that leave for positives?
This is a really good summary of why these games are so beloved by the people who played them. It really is a shame that every entry in the series after it has been rushed out the door. I really wish we could have seen these games continue to evolve, but instead some executive looked at Sega forcing a mainline sonic title out of their ass every year and said "yeah let's do that".
I grew up on Pokémon White and it is one of my favorite games to this day. All the characters made me feel so connected and when Nintendo Wi-fi was still active I played with my friends all the time. 10/10 by far INCLUDING the music. I will always remember riding down the Bridge that connects the city, oh wait, I can still do that! My DSi still works to this day and got the game on release year!
Bro, the first pokemon you see on the video is Numel, my favorite pokemon, and my other favorite pokemon are all of gen 5, and let me tell you, that i LOVE GEN 5.
Ppl are really split on the stories of SM & LA, they either say that they were engaging or sucky. G5 gets the most praise for its story out of the 3 games cuz it was the 1st mainline game to put a focus on the story & it worked.
Personally, I prefer Ultra Sun over Black and White but I agree that Gen 5 is great. It has my favorite location in all of Pokémon, the village bridge. The village bridge has arguably the best music in pokemon.
With how much you see show to like the Unova region like I do want to have a reference to my story I’m making of the game just tell me a Pokémon from the region that isn’t a legendary and I’ll put you in there.

I grew up without having much to do with video games. I got my first video game introduction through a gameboy color, where I played pokemon leaf green. At that time, Zelda Skyward Sword had just came out so I played both at the same time basically. I grew older always loving video games because of how COOL everything always is, and how unboring it is. I begged my parents for a DSi when I saw those around 7-8 years old, and my grandmother bought me one for my birthday, along with Pokemon Black version 2. It was the second pokemon game I played. I always LOVED it. I was amazed at how absolutely awesome the sound track was, and is, and how the graphics were obviously trying to give off that 3d effect and it worked FLAWLESSLY. I remember walking around Undella town, not willing to leave because of how surreal and calm the music was. ( We don't talk of you know who in that house MonkaS ) This video really showed off what pokemon black&white had to show, however you only scratched the surface. If you're reading my rant and have never played black&white, please, I commend you, please get your hands on a copy. Legal copy or not, I don't care, just please play it and share this feeling with me and everyone else who grew up with this master piece of a game.
I played through BW/B2W2 for the first time recently after turning my nose up at them 10 years ago. I always thought Gen4 was as far as i was meant to go and i would never like anything newer than those games. Wrong. I was very wrong. These games were awesome and im honestly glad i waited so long to play them. I was lucky enough to get a new 2d pokemon game in 2022. This is my "adult" generation.
The only worst thing from gen 5 is the starters. That was my first time ditching my starter because of a better pokemon out there... Emboar < chandelure Samurott < seismitoad Serperior < leavanny

For me, the DS era in general was peak. I personally prefer Gen 4, because Platinum and HGSS are phenomenal, but I have a lot of love and nostalgia for Gen 5 as well. I didn't vibe quite as much with the Pokemon and aesthetic, and some of the moving sprites can be quite jarring, but Unova has so much to offer and I always love replaying them
I agree, this is an objective statement that Gen 5 is truly the best one. Honestly, Gen 3-5 were peak Pokemon for me. I grew up with Silver, played my brother's Red and Yellow, never had Crystal, but Ruby/Emerald was the start of my absolute love for Pokemon. X & Y were neat and I appreciated it for what it was, but Sun and Moon lost me and I nearly gave up on Pokemon as a whole. Arceus has brought in new life to the game and I hope they continue to improve once again, but I think Gen 5 was truly the tip peak of the series.
I really like B/W story and music, but the lack of Pokémon from other regions really made me dissapointed. B/W 2 was good, but it came out too late for me to truly enjoy them...
Gen 5 was definitely nice, since it showcased how amazing pokemon can be when they go all out. I feel like the reason we don't see them go all out anymore was how poorly the games were initially recieved, which is really sad, since these games basically defined peak pokemon.
I don't hear THAT awesomeness in the soundtrack... those 3 examples were reeeeeaaaally lacklustre :/ Maybe different tracks are better. Other than that, just another Pokemon game with slightly more ambitious plot.
FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS ME! I loved the BW series! Walking into grass for the first time and NOT seeing a rattata or pidgy made the WHOLE game better!

It's true that the quality of the post game suffers from this but seeing how the newer games (gen 7,8,9) outsell the older games like HGSS it makes sense why game freak would choose such an approach. They are a company after all. Especially the new Pokemon game Scarlet/Violet have an incredible story one of the best in the entire franchise which explains how it outsold games like X/Y in just 1-2 Months

Also to me it’s unfair to fans young and old to have to play low quality games that are glitchy as hell. Black and white 2 was the last real pokemon game that felt like a Pokemon game where gamefreak put all their love in for the fans.

Agreed, Unova was when bugs began to shine. Since then we've gotten the absolute unit Vikavolt, the badass fire centipede, Frosmoth, and giga ufo bug. Even vivillion is at the very least super cute. I love them all
Aside from Giratina's entrance in Platinum, there has been no moment as hype as seeing Zekrom or Reshiram roar at you with a non-static sprite and their theme starting up. That moment is engraved in my soul. I think I was like 20/21 when BW came out and I've forever held it as my favorite since. I'm working on completing the dex in White after finding out I never did it back then.

Gen 5 was my introduction to Pokémon. I’d just got my first DSi, and Black was my first game. Instantly got me hooked. Years later and I’m still playing Pokémon, even competitively. It’s crazy how quickly I got so far into the franchise. You deserve so many more subscribers, too. Your content is really well put together and you just seem really cool.
Black 2 was my first Pokémon game, and I could literally write a whole novel about how much I love it. I cannot express enough how fun, well made, and fantastic black 2 and white 2 are.

On a side note, I’ve been in the process of completing my Pokédex in black 2 for a couple years now. I’m currently only 80 Pokémon away from finishing it, and once I do, it’ll be a long term achievement I’ve been waiting so long to accomplish.
This mans spitting straight facts, for the people who complain about "oh well gen 5 has all these new pokemon, wheres my charizard?" grow a pair buddy. No one was attached to new pokemon in previous gens until people grew to love them so having a pokemon game comprised of entirely new pokemon was an amazing idea and honestly a great break from all of the nostalgic gen 1 pokemon which you now roll your eyes when seeing them because there isnt a god damn single moment someones not holding a picture of gengar, charizard, gardevoir, etc. Not to mention every new game just forces the same god damn pokemon down your throat every time too.
Dude you could walk down the street and see 7 adults wearing a gengar t-shirt. One of my best friends has him tattooed on his leg lol I played this in high school. I remember there being some genwunners in my school at the time hating on the game. (They of course still bought it) I completely annihilated them in battle and in my trash talking skills every chance I got. They were some of my inspiration to get good at pokemon and learn how to play competitive. I just hated their guts for hating on new pokemon before they seen or used them just because there geodud would be locked behind the endgame.
They were overlooked at the time because they came at the end if the DS lifecycle and just before the shift to 3D models, but I've seen a lot of appreciation for the games as people rediscover them.

Pokemon Black was the first game I got, I believe I got it on my 10th birthday, or maybe my 9th. I've grown very attached to all the pokemon, and growing up with the game and replaying the game itself multiple times has made me realise how mature the story line is.
The vast amount of pokemon in the game is brilliant, it gives to new experiences when you don't get to rely and fall back on old faithfulls like Garchomp, Lucario and Gyarados to name a few.
The 3D animations of the game really made it stand out compared to past games. It showed a risk that GameFreak and Nintendo made to make this game as great as it could be, and it worked

It had to be the black sheep of the franchise... the best damn one.. im 30 and i remember the shear amount of hype around this game my senior year of high school. Most the people at my school got it. Alot of people had not even played a game since the original gameboy. It was so much fun. . I found out years later pokemon fans despised these games and the hardcore fans are the worst 😅

I'm sorry but I can't agree with this, best wishes was easily the weakest point in the entire show- Iris deserve to be written better, but the anime just made her Misty without good dialogue, Cilan's only substantial unique trait is the "connoisseur of everything" running gag, and I just don't see how it was meant to be funny. Ash somehow regressed back to how he was in season one, minus the witty comebacks and good lines. But none of that compares to the simultaneous, sidelining and butchering of the TRio. If they needed more competent villains, they could have made new characters, or not severely underutilize team plasma, but instead they decided to mess with perfection. It's not like they stopped needing minor antagonists, they made random wild Pokemon fill the role all the time.
Point is, the protagonists are the weakest in the series (Goh isn't even a close second) and the antagonists are just BAD. That largely just leaves the action scenes and well... When the one battle the season is remembered for is the most controversial (and stupid, there's a way I could explain it if I wanted to but wasn't in the explanation the show gave so it doesn't matter) loss ash and Pikachu ever experienced, I think that's pretty telling of how forgettable the action scenes were. But I will say that replacing volt tackle, the signature move of the Pikachu line, with electro ball, a move that in the context of the show is functionally inferior to thunderbolt (an electric type ranged option that doesn't paralyze? Why would ash ever use it? It wouldn't be so bad if the moves speed based power was taken advantage of, but to my knowledge the show never even mentioned it)
So if the characters are stupid at best and the action is underwhelming overall, what does that leave for positives?

This is a really good summary of why these games are so beloved by the people who played them. It really is a shame that every entry in the series after it has been rushed out the door.
I really wish we could have seen these games continue to evolve, but instead some executive looked at Sega forcing a mainline sonic title out of their ass every year and said "yeah let's do that".
I grew up on Pokémon White and it is one of my favorite games to this day. All the characters made me feel so connected and when Nintendo Wi-fi was still active I played with my friends all the time. 10/10 by far INCLUDING the music. I will always remember riding down the Bridge that connects the city, oh wait, I can still do that! My DSi still works to this day and got the game on release year!

Personally, I prefer Ultra Sun over Black and White but I agree that Gen 5 is great. It has my favorite location in all of Pokémon, the village bridge. The village bridge has arguably the best music in pokemon.

No cause I grew up with pokemon black 2 it was so so fun and the music track is amazing. I mean, my fav pokemon is hydreigon so
I grew up without having much to do with video games. I got my first video game introduction through a gameboy color, where I played pokemon leaf green. At that time, Zelda Skyward Sword had just came out so I played both at the same time basically. I grew older always loving video games because of how COOL everything always is, and how unboring it is. I begged my parents for a DSi when I saw those around 7-8 years old, and my grandmother bought me one for my birthday, along with Pokemon Black version 2. It was the second pokemon game I played. I always LOVED it. I was amazed at how absolutely awesome the sound track was, and is, and how the graphics were obviously trying to give off that 3d effect and it worked FLAWLESSLY. I remember walking around Undella town, not willing to leave because of how surreal and calm the music was. ( We don't talk of you know who in that house MonkaS )
This video really showed off what pokemon black&white had to show, however you only scratched the surface. If you're reading my rant and have never played black&white, please, I commend you, please get your hands on a copy. Legal copy or not, I don't care, just please play it and share this feeling with me and everyone else who grew up with this master piece of a game.
I played through BW/B2W2 for the first time recently after turning my nose up at them 10 years ago. I always thought Gen4 was as far as i was meant to go and i would never like anything newer than those games. Wrong. I was very wrong. These games were awesome and im honestly glad i waited so long to play them. I was lucky enough to get a new 2d pokemon game in 2022. This is my "adult" generation.
The target audience isnt really children, like kids first but the devs talked alot in old interviews about wanting the franchise to be for all ages.

For me, the DS era in general was peak. I personally prefer Gen 4, because Platinum and HGSS are phenomenal, but I have a lot of love and nostalgia for Gen 5 as well. I didn't vibe quite as much with the Pokemon and aesthetic, and some of the moving sprites can be quite jarring, but Unova has so much to offer and I always love replaying them
I agree, this is an objective statement that Gen 5 is truly the best one. Honestly, Gen 3-5 were peak Pokemon for me. I grew up with Silver, played my brother's Red and Yellow, never had Crystal, but Ruby/Emerald was the start of my absolute love for Pokemon. X & Y were neat and I appreciated it for what it was, but Sun and Moon lost me and I nearly gave up on Pokemon as a whole. Arceus has brought in new life to the game and I hope they continue to improve once again, but I think Gen 5 was truly the tip peak of the series.

I really like B/W story and music, but the lack of Pokémon from other regions really made me dissapointed. B/W 2 was good, but it came out too late for me to truly enjoy them...
Gen 5 was definitely nice, since it showcased how amazing pokemon can be when they go all out. I feel like the reason we don't see them go all out anymore was how poorly the games were initially recieved, which is really sad, since these games basically defined peak pokemon.
As a fan of pokemon, all I can say is that gen 8 and 9 dont exist. The only real pokemon games on switch are the spinnoffs.

gen 5 is objectively the best generation for pokemon. Gen 5 has the most content of any pokemon game in the entire series, has incredibly unique looking areas, a fantastic soundtrack, cool as hell mon designs. The only other gen that was S tier in my opinion was gen 3 and it had way less content in the end game than gen 5 does (even if gen 3 did introduce my absolute favorite mon ever, Salamence, I have to say gen 5 was just stronger with more content).

I feel like pokemon went down hill in gen 7 where most people started to notice the down hill of pokemon. 🤔I personally am not a big fan of gen 5 at all. For context gen 5 was my introduction to pokemon and I’ve played them the most out of every other generation and well…..I can’t help but notice the same problems for both the originals and sequels. I should start saying that gen 5 is my least favorite gen of all time. First of all the region itself it waaaaaay to linear, even in the sequels they don’t fixed it by much. Now it’s just two disconnected lines???? 😵💫 Wat??? Take for example Sinnoh, has alot of intersections and is very large and diverse in climate. (Meadows, bogs, tundra,subtropical, foggy mountains, beaches). Second the pokemon where pretty much destined for failure as their designs are just not appealing or flattering at all in my opinion. And most people can agree the designs of these pokemon really suffered as a result of making waaaay to many designs. Kalos for example has very few pokemon but makes great use with every single one. Even the “bad” designs have something interesting and unique to them that make them appealing and interesting. And finally one of my personal big problems with the story is that you as the player are told you are the hero but like none of the events that lead up to the finale only happen because of other characters actions sooo it really begs the question, are you really the hero or just some by stander? But for what it’s worth I do quite like gen 5’s story. It’s not perfect but it’s one of the best in Pokémon in my opinion weeeell actually now that I think about it gen 3’s story might be better. With that said, unfortunately I dread playing these games every time, even the sequels. I feel like game freak knew they messed up the first games that they made two new games to put a biiiiiig ol bandaid 🩹 on top of the same messy foundation of the originals. The sequels still have their problems but it works a lot better then the originals. But the sequels do not excuse the existence of the originals down falls and bad design choices. Overall gen 5 is extremely hard to sit through for me. I feel like they put waaaaay to much emphasis on the story that all other aspects that make a good pokemon game really suffered as a result. The originals are so bad that they can’t stand on their own and the sequels are the only thing keeping them alive by this point. No one wants to remember the originals because everyone focuses on the sequels and that to me shows the originals are bad games. Also apparently game freak is putting more emphasis on a story for modern Pokémon games and that is worrying. They are putting too much emphasis on a story that the other aspects of a good Pokémon game are lost. Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver don’t have a dramatic story yet are considered some of the best well crafted games of all time. To me a Pokémon game doesn’t need a good story in order to be a good game. Also does anyone remember that large gap of bw2, badges 6-7? U beat Skyla then fly over Lentimas town, Reversal Mountain, Undella town, Route 13, Lacunosa town, Route 12, Village bridge, Route 11 then finally Opelucid City? What with that? Considering it occurs during the last third of the game?
The gym leaders coming to fight the sages was extremely cool. For once they felt like actually respectable characters and not just glorified trainers
