I just crossed the country again for the 5th time from Yukon to New-Brunswick in my hatchback sti that as 160 000km , didn’t even burn a drop of oil !! Original everything on the car !!!
I had a 612 WHP '05 STI that I dailyed with an FP-zero bolt on turbo, And then IAG stage 2. Stock trans. Loved it.❤ ran everyday. Someone blew a red light and totaled it 😔 The best part is that when people ask about it I could tell them it's just bolt-ons and be telling the truth. Nothing much just the biggest bolt on turbo ever produced for a Subaru.😅 Car went undefeated against the exotics of Scottsdale AZ, of which there were many.
@@Craiggg12345 not really. Allstate tried to offer me $15k. I invoked the independent appraiser clause and got $30k for it. I could have done alright parting it out. But I would hate that headache. I didn't have a garage or even a driveway. I had a parking lot spot at the apartment. Sometimes, lol.
Nice to hear that 600hp on Subaru is reliable. I want that power level, but have problem with couple of tuning houses...I have problem with car too...head gasket 😄 so it will be in garage for longer time, I guess.
I purchased a 2003 wrx last year and immediately swapped a 2019 STI motor, trans, diff, brakes and shit into it. Runs on link ECU. The whole point, it currently makes just over stock 2019 STI power but feels like about 600 in a gutted 03 wrx. Older STi's can be seriously great handing with amazing grip.
@@XD3blazemuch of it “bolts up”. It’s quite a process though and some weird axle combinations were required to get the brakes to fit on GD knuckles that take 5x114.3, and you’ll need to run a stand alone ECU because of the differences in cams and pcv. So it’s not that strait forward, took months to figure out, but it all fits… and is nuts. The more simple way would be to get an assembled type RA short block from subaru and put your heads on. Called the hybrid swap. Definitely the easiest way. Transmission wise it all bolts up but you’ll need a GD 6 speed drive shaft. So Auto Impreza or STi
246,000 Miles on the body of my 2008 STI. 1,750 Miles on the engine. The engine was only changed once so 245,000 ish miles on the stock engine. Original clutch was changed with the engine.
Congrats!! I also picked up an 08 sti last year at 165k on chassis but 8k on rebuilt motor. Been working on it to make it the best and reliable track car/ daily
Haven’t watched this yet, and my car’s only at 61,000 miles (still a lot for a Subaru) but I’m going into this hoping it all applies to my 2013 WRX as well.
My 2008 sti has only 74,000 miles but has stage 2 protune, I have not driven as I baby it too much, with my Model 3, my sti kinda just and ornament in the garage would drive it around for a bit to hear the boxer rumble🎉
I got lucky and found a Subaru of America employee selling their 14k mile bone stock STI so I went to New Jersey to pick it up. I got bored with the power it made so I got an IAG 750 engine to make 500whp.
I had an 08 wrx. We put 3 clutches in it. That year was bad for wrx/sti. I assume hers has a reinforced firewall. My son and I eventually figured out that a plate had to be welded onto the firewall and then mount the ms onto that. It worked.
Holy crap! 170k miles and 120k on the current motor? That means an early failure on the original engine, I wonder what the root cause for that was (poor maintenance in the beginning by that original owner? Extreme hard use that the original owner didn't carry on to the new rebuild?). This is a beautiful car, wow! I hope she'll get the paint detailed soon so it pops again :D
LOL it was just a joke. I sold my house for other reasons, but used some of that $$$ to get a car I’ve been wanting. Nothing wrong with treating yourself!
Bought the same thing, rebuilt the engine, love it but men they are pig on gas. For the firewall for 20 cents worth of oil just spray some down the firewall, its been a year without problem, imho not worth the mod. Good luck.

So I assume you lost a ton of money on the parts unless you parted out the salvable stuff

Some of us can only dream of a 600hp reliable daily 😜 sounds like fun!
Reliable 420whp STi 91oct
600hp is insane 4 daily..

Especially on a Subi lol
266k on my 04 wrx ❤ original motor & turbo. Had her for 12 years and still in love. IAG installed my Invidia N1.
Dang that is a beautiful kept 2008 sti. That owner really took care of it.

Does all that just bolt up???
I'm still planning what to do with my 05 because 200k stock engine is getting tired

Congrats on the car. I watched the bidding on Cars & Bids. Glad to see it ended up in the right place!

Great car, especially for the mileage. Looks fantastic in red. I always loved those hatchbacks.

For real!

my 05 wrx just turned into a summer only car. I moved to a wet and humid area. shooting for a rotated setup 450-500whp.

I have a 08 Red sti with 65k that I had since 09 that I like to Sale it in real good shape no problem since I found it
Great looking STI!

i still want one! an STI hatch
Might want to check the inner wheelwell in the rear, they will Rust out
Wish I hadn't sold m 08 STI seeing as they are priced now almost what I sold for back in 2013
Damn foster working at IAG as well? Hell yeah
Yup, living on the east coast now and working at IAG 🤙-Foster

I got a 2013 wrx single owner hatch 2 years ago. Take care of it, do the support mods. Mine is still at 40k 😊
That’s awesome! 👏
Love GRB the best sti in my opinion 👌
My ‘14 Wrx has 33k miles and I have the grimmspeed master cylinder brace since day 1 but I’ve been hearing the squeak getting louder lately 😢
"You can sleep in a car, but you can't race a house."
A man after my own heart.
what about those motorhomes? Or caravans? I think you could race those. I can picture those going crazy in the future given house prices lol.
Anyone out there with a 300,000 mile stock sti ????
Sold her house for that thing, wtf!? 😆😳 Man you guys better pay her better! 😂
Technically she sold her house to move to MD to start at IAG but nothing wrong with spending a little house money on a new toy! 😁
LOL it was just a joke. I sold my house for other reasons, but used some of that $$$ to get a car I’ve been wanting. Nothing wrong with treating yourself!
@mariah4638 I just got a kick out of it lol. I was also joking, That's why I put laughing faces. I know, it's hard to tell through text. 😆 🤷♂️
Love the videos! Keep em coming... I've always been a vw guy, but these subis have really been sparking my interest over the last few years.
"so of course it's blown up once before" 😑
How much are this cars in the u.s. with this mileages?
That’s my friends car ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Rip my 08 sti

Neat car but does that lady really need 600 horse power? Why that particular number? Seems a little ridiculous, especially “selling a house” for it…
Yeah boi!
Hey my state haha
Nice car but Lol sold her house to buy a car
first
hands down ugliest variant wrx
