    Saved my husbands life. He was relieved in hours. It’s been a yea and 1/2 and he’s had a few treatments more but feels so good now he doesn’t feel a need for more. He’s been clinically depressed for 25 years and would encourage everyone to do this if they have no hope.

      THe problem is - it is the Ketamine INFUSIONS that work excellent. And it's near impossible for folks to get an intraveneous infusion at home for Ketamine. This kind of treatment that works best is done in a clinic or hospital setting because an infusion pump and monitoring of BP and such is needed.
      The oral compounded troches don't work anywhere near as good as an intravenous infusion.

I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Yes *Mr.Luccas024* ..Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

I have bipolar depression and it took about seven infusions before I responded and we found my optimal dose (1.42mg/kg) and method of injection (10% in my arm and 90% in the bag). If we had given up after three infusions assuming i wouldn’t respond my story would not be written because i wouldn’t be here. I go for an infusion every 3-4 weeks and have responded beautifully. If you want to go on a great trip and get stoned for 2 weeks Ketamine is for you but it is very costly and it's effectiveness is about the same as SSRIs and SNRI drugs. Question for the two docs in the vid...or any other MD reading this ... Does the psychiatric community intend to push for FDA approval of the Ketamine INFUSIONS, so that they will no longer be "Off Label" and more insurance companies willing to cover them? I asked that same question of the two Yale DOCS promoting their Esketamine patent, and they deleted my post. So maybe some other doc not interested in protecting the Esketamine patent will answer...

      I assume they need studies and data before it will fall under normal health care coverage. Clinics are available now in North America. Many people find it worth a few thousand dollars to get relief from depression and suicidal ideation instead of waiting

    • @dbsabo2
      @dbsabo2 2 роки тому

      @@Robin-bk2lm You are incorrect in your above suggestion. According to the National Institutes of Health database on PubMed, there are over 258 Randomized Controlled clinical trials listed with the title of "ketamine" and "Depression" in their database. So there is much clinical trial data to show these treatments are effective. Safety is also not an issue, since the FDA approved Ketamine at much higher doses than used to treat MDD, way back in 1970.
      "Off Label" does not mean that insurance companies do not pay for infusions. Many do, and to suggest otherwise is mis-information. What is needed is a national "Truth in Advertising" law that bans any of the specialty ketamine clinics that treat only mental health issues, to stop pedaling mis information that insurance companies do not cover "off lable" treatments. They do. What the clinics need to start doing - is tell the truth and instead inform clients that the CLINIC does not accept insurance - NOT that insurance will not cover the infusions. The ONLY WAY to find out if an insurance company will pay for the infusions, is for an MD to SUBMIT THE BILLING to the paitents insurance company, and see if the insurance company pays for it. It's the only way.
      The problem is - ketamine clinics that specialize in this business outright lie to potential and existing clients and suggest that insurance companies do not cover these treatments - for depression. The specialty clinics do this, because the specialty ketamine clinics that treat mental health issues want the cold hard cash, and they do not want to file insurance claims because insurance companies generally will not pay the higher fees that many of the specialty clinics charge which is often double or triple of what insurance companies are willing to pay for the treatments. This is because ketamine is extremely cheap - my hospital only pays about $28.00 per 100 mg vial of Ketamine. The majority of the cost is for the infusion service itself which many clinics are charging up to 800 dollars per infusion or more. My insurance company on the other hand only will pay for about 300 bucks per infusion. Which is why the clinics don’t take insurance - they want to charge a LOT more.

    Unfortunately, having to go into the office every single time you need to take this medication for treatment is not convenient for most people. I’ve never taken it before but could not even imagine that most people could do this since the cost, having a job, family, and sheer lack of convenience would put this medication out of reach for most of them.

    • @kmshultz
      @kmshultz 2 роки тому +3

      I agree, it’s terribly inconvenient and expensive. There are psychedelic telemedicine companies like Mindbloom emerging that can help with cost and convenience. You take ketamine lozenges at home and it’s much cheaper than in-office IV infusions. You could do it in the evening after work rather than having to take the day off to go into the doctor’s office. It’s still not as cheap as it should be, but I think it’s a step in the right direction.

      @@32toffeeman I am assuming you are asking if you can take Ketamine in a pill once or twice a day? If that is your question (I say this as a paitent not a doc - I'm not a doc) - The infusions - they are done in a doc’s office. The troche's (lozenges) yes, I took them for one month - two 50 mg lozenges a day. The problem with that though, you need nearly three times as much ketamine in lozenges, than you do with the infusions, to approach the same effectiveness. Even with that, they are no where near as good as the infusions...at least that was my experience comparing the two, but you might experience something different.
      The infusions are far better because the drug was designed to be administered by IV. The thing I don't like about taking lozenges internally, they made me queasy, and drowsy for much longer. With the infusions, I am pretty much good to go after about 15-30 minutes post infusion, and they don't mess up my whole day. With the lozenges, they take a lot longer to get into your system, and to get out. Actually the lozenges felt like a different drug compared to infusions - they act differently - at least for me.
      And the good thing about the infusions, once you do a startup - some people can go for several weeks between infusions before they need to come back for another - when the symptoms re appear. That’s how you know when you need another infusion - when the symptoms come back. For me right now, my sweet spot is about one infusion every 2 weeks, depending on my lifestyle for that month. If I eat better, get some exercise and keep busy, I can go longer. The longest I ever went between infusions was 10 weeks - that was when I took them on start up - 8 infusions over a four week period. I felt after about 6 or 7 weeks after my start up protocol, I felt a need to come back in.
      The only way you can really find out what works for you is to try them both. Or maybe the Esketamine spray - but that is done in docs office too.

    I have severe mental illnesses and suffered almost since I was born, it all developed throughout my traumatic childhood. Abusive and ill parents, and severely traumatic upbringing and religious brainwashing. I got worse and worse and had no friends and support and now I’m close to 23. But I can’t get better and I have; severe anxieties, dpdr(every symptom of dissociation), depression and extremely down, and I also have this thing where my relatives/thoughts related to them shows up in my head and I disappear in it without any stop. I also have an undiagnosed sleeping disorder the doctors haven’t found out about, and tried everything but it doesn’t.
    I’m suffering non stop 24/7 and don’t know what’s the solution for all my mental illnesses and severe suffering and my sleeping disorder. I was on main medications such as Prozac but it made my sleeping disorder worse, killed my sexual ability(I already suffer with that part too) and it made me like a zombie.

    I heard a rumor that it costs only $5 a dose to make Ketamine. So what justifies charging $500 a dose to administer?
    I don't want to hear the crybaby talking points again that there is the clinic overhead, malpractice liability, and the expense and time invested in medical training.
    Supervising Ketamine is on the same level as giving a vaccination. It doesn't involve a surgery room, just similar resources to coping with anaphylactic shock/allergic reaction.

    I’m bipolar & seriously looking into this. I understood him to say Bipolars are only allowed ONE dose? If we have the one dose and get better and then by the way you speak you revert a little bit for a while then what good does it do a Bipolar to take this treatment if they only get one chance to feel better the rest of their life and never have it again? I don’t understand it.
    Also the two clinics here say that they give treatments three times a week for two weeks and then it’s individual as to how often do you have to have it again. This guy said you have it twice a week so that makes me wonder if these guys don’t know what they’re doing which is scary.

      CHeck out the pain clinics or infusion clinics in TN. There is no requirement that these infusions must be given by only clinics that provide them for mental health purposes. Any infusion clinic can do these infusions. As a matter of fact, some cancer infusion clinics in hospitals will also do them for mental health issues. You just have to call around and do your homework and don't depend only on your PCP to set you up. It took me several months of phone calls and visiting clinics to find help.
