I am almost 64 and remember like yesterday, the All Night Gospel Sings my parents took us to during the 1960's in Jackson, MS. Coming from a very strict household, and SBC which was extremely restrictive to children, Gospel singing was enlightening, exciting, powerful and revealed to us that worship could be FUN! There was no "air" of baseness or crudeness present and all races were welcomed and worshiped together. It was wonderful to be a part of a worship service where people clapped, whistled, sang along, and hollered in accompanying the onstage worship. We joined in worship in a different way than what was possible in our local church services. Later, my Mother broke with SBC and actually attended different denominations' worship services which were "on fire" for the Lord. King David danced in worship of Jehovah in Old Testament scripture, and many didn't understand his way of worship either. Let me say, when the Lord sets you free, you are free indeed! And that freedom includes JOY, PEACE and LOVE overflowing in magnificent and unending quantities. Thank you King Jesus for making it all possible!
I'm just giving God all the glory and the praise is in my life for what he has done and what is deliver me from and yes there is power in the old hymns but there's so much power that people don't even understand that power and I just give God the glory and honor and praises for delivered me
Let us have a little talk with Jesus. This hymn brings back many memories. I grew up attending a Pentecostal church in Parma, Idaho. We sang this one, and many old-fashioned hymns. Love the old hymns. I love Jesus. He hears our every cry. A talk with Jesus. Thank God for talks with The Trinity. How wonderful, how magnificent, to talk with The king of kings and the Lord God almighty. Thank God for The Holy Spirit and the joy that he fills us with. Thank God and Jesus for salvation, for wisdom, for loving us, for everything that is good.
i love gold city i like that old time gospel sound that you don,t here much anymore i go to a little church and thats all we sing is the old hymns and thats how it should be May God Bless.
Anthony Burger on the piano! He was truly one of the best piano players I have ever saw! 3:08 and 3:38 is priceless! R.I.P. June 5, 1961 - February 22, 2006
There will never be anything like this again in SGM!! King's Gold was the best ever. I got to see both Gold City and The Kingsmen in Marion IL and they did King's Gold. I don't think I sat in my seat at all that night!!
Love..u I love this group they are fun I love to hear him sing they sing my favorite songs and they are super good I love all the guys it's in it they can sing live love Libby Curry and sing some more I love them
Tim Riley is such a gracious Christian gentleman. If I were in his shoes I'd look at Ray and be like "You're not even in my league, fella." No bass like Tim. Tim with his false hair, and Ray with his false teeth. Hahahaha
Old gospel hymns have power in them. This new stuff is not spiritual. Give me the old path to follow. Give me the elders of the church for the laying on of hands
Amen amen amen to your comment! The new churches are definitely NOT with the program! Even with all their fancy bands today it doesn’t come close to these old time hymns!
Русский вариант Я без Христа блуждал, но Он меня принял, Простил мою вину и оправдал. Любовью отплатил, и мир Свой подарил. Лишь только сердце я свое Ему открыл. Припев 2р.
The tenor for the Kingsmen sounds like he got his gonads stuck in a pair of pliers..they make it look so simple yet it took alot of hard work and devotion to make it all come together. Thanx gentlemen.
Anthony Berger could tear that piano up!

We got an old fashioned Pentecostal holiness church here in southern WV. We still have “Bobbie pin” services and song from the red back hymnal.
Yes, how true it is when we tell Jesus our troubles He will work them all out ..
No better southern gospel! Kingsmen, Gold City, Inspirations
Amen. Praise God. Just a little talk with Jesus makes it right. 🎶❤️

Who were the 2 battling tenors? In Looking For A City?
Garry Sheppard of the Kingsmen and Brian Free of Gold City
msh0510 You're right, Tim Riley does look a lot like William Shatner!
He and David Phelps should do a singing battle! They are my two favorite tenors.
Old gospel hymns have power in them. This new stuff is not spiritual. Give me the old path to follow. Give me the elders of the church for the laying on of hands
