Curry became PA's all-time winningest football coach (455 wins / .810 win pctg / 6 state titles / 3 national titles / many all-state players / many division 1 college players / several all-americans and future NFL players / a national high school player of the year). Eddie Gayeski became PA's all-time winningest boys basketball coach (744 wins / .792 win pctg. / 2 state titles / several all-state players) at Northwest High School just 10 miles from Berwick. And 17 miles from Berwick, Elvetta Gemski built one of the best field hockey programs in PA history and nationally at Crestwood High School (600 wins / .809 win pctg. / 4 state titles / 2 national players of the year / numerous division 1 players / College national player of the year / Olympian). Kind of amazing.
I hadn't seen this before ! This is great ! A great tribute to a great man !! I teased one time when someone from out of town said to me " Curry recruits " I said No he never has ! He's just a great coach ! Then teasing her .. I told her " they once did an MRI on his brain and found it was the shape of a football " She was dumbfounded ....she believed me !!! ... LOL But I didn't tell her any different , just left her with that !!! It was fun !!
Berwick Truly had a Mystical Aura about them, their town and Crispin Field..They Always had a #99 and #33 who were Monsters But Personally put an end to the Dynasty ….#ArmillaysArmy #2003
