Awesome. Thank you 😎 the jugs are scepter Jerry cans. I think you may be able to grab them off Amazon now. Good luck in the rig. Jeeps are fun, minus the Mpgs
Hey Chris. Honestly I think it was a no name brand off eBay. Didn’t see the point in dropping hundreds on a net. Try beating jeep cargo net and see what pops up. Want to say they were 50bbucks
You should look into UHMWPE fabric, install it in your door panels for ballistic doors, it's relatively inexpensive (maybe 50 bucks for a bullet-proof layered (15-20 layers depending) square yard). Of course, it's soft armour, so it'll probably only be good for pistol calibers. But still, it would be really dope to have.
Hey Robert. Efficient is not a word that comes to mind with jeeps lol. Not sure if it was in this video but I have a rotopax on the back safari rack. And during hurricane season I have a 10 gal aux tank I could strap on the roof rack( siphon the gas right into the tank from the roof) but that’s only if I knew I had to go the distance. Waiting for the day solar powered jeeps are a thing :P
Hey Joseph. I believe it’s called a safari rack, or atleast what this one was called. Mine was just one of ebay. Not the most expensive name brand ones. Had it for years and It’s held up great so far 👍🏼
Great video and amazing explanation. It will be great to know more and be more detailed in the trauma kit and obviously any detail on weapons you carry in the car. Blessings my friend...
jorge pelaez Thank you my man. I will work in a trauma video in the future. Weapons I left out purposely for some OP Sec. but always at an arms reach. Thanks for the kind words and checking out the channel 😎👍🏼
BLADExARTx5160 I have a mount for a rifle. And my Glock. But Glock is my edc so that goes with me when I leave the vehicle. And rifle doesn’t live In The jeep full time. I want one of those drawer safes. Just $$$. Working on quick release cages for all the windows, effectively making the entire rig a moving safe. Need a good fabricator though.
Lol, haven’t found that function yet. I actually just recently figured out the GPS on it. Has a cool “return to home” function. Leaves breadcrumbs so you can find your way back to your broken down car or your off grid campsite. Worth the price tag so far.
I know this is an older video but I just happened to stumble across it. Speaking as a soldier and combat medic you definitely have a nice setup but it's a bit on the overkill side to haul that much gear not to mention that much extra weight. I'm assuming you loaded all that gear for the purposes of the video and don't carry it all the time. I have an 03 wrangler that stays loaded all the time with what I need. It's not near as flashy as yours so it doesn't draw so much unneeded attention. I removed the rear seat and built a locking storage box in it's place. I carry tools, recovery gear, etc as well as a shtf / survival bag packed in the box with a small trauma kit and ifak kit for wounds in case I have to leave my rig. I plan on staying in the safety of my own home where I know I have my needs and security taken care and as a last option I plan on bugging out. But in the event I have to bug out I have various totes in my garage that stay loaded and on the ready 24/7. Again not knocking your setup at all you definitely put a lot of thought into it. I'm just more if a minimalist when it comes to these kinds of things. Just subscribed.
Welcome to the channel brother. Glad to have ya. This is just a fun daily driver with some capability but never a true option. Quality Boots and backpacks are all I’ve put my faith in. I don’t get enough MPG on this thing to consider it an option for any large scale scenario :P
Great video and awesome tutorial… I agree with the others though, the empty mug takes away from the authenticity when you spray “potable” water into it 🤨🇺🇸💪🇺🇸💪
Vince hey man thanks for watching. First off the valuables in the truck don’t live in there full time so wouldn’t be anything to steal, but there are a few things I left out on purpose. Without going into great detail: Everything is locked down/bolted to the jeep itself. Have a separate hidden safe inside(also bolted in) not shown in the video with keys. Also In the works with a few welders getting some quick release(from the inside) window cages fabricated couldn’t smash your way in. Effectively turning the entire jeep into a moving vault. All that being said. This is more the search and rescue jeep with all the features you’d need for any foreseeable disaster. There is a time and place for Gray man. Thanks for watching. Let me know if there’s any content you’d like to see for future videos.
When the Lights go Out - What are you running to gain extra power for the Jeep for all the added weight? And is your gearing the stock 3.21? I have a 2017 unlimited sport and I was looking into alarms but I’ve been hearing about sensor alarms, where if someone even puts their hand inside the Jeep with the tops off or windows down that it will go off and disable the jeeps computer system completely, so it can’t be stolen, and notify you by phone instantly, my bug out bag/camping equipment would be a thousand or more loss instantly, not counting the guns that might be inside either depending on where I’m going, mine unfortunately is too big to fit in the garage also, why I was wondering about your security.
Vince I hear ya. Always a gamble no matter what you do. My bugout gear stays at the house. Just have my get Home bag that rides in the back. Hiking boots and the tool set. Everything else I don’t know I’d trust leaving in. Horse power wise only what little I gained from a cold air intake and Pypes high clearance exhaust. So it doesn’t go very fast lol but it’s been able to still power through every obstacle I’ve put it through. Stock gearing as well. Selling the roof top tent though. I’ve only used it twice. I find myself building my own structures or hammock camping off the roof rack most the time. So that’ll save some weight bring me a few mpg back hopefully. I also had the radio put in by bestbuy and had a whole bunch of electrical issues. Just a word of caution before diving into the alarm system.
When the Lights go Out I’ll have to figure something out, might just go back to the dealer and have a factory alarm put on and just be done with it, I get scared because jeeps are just to easy too break into, especially mine which is just the manual windows and locks, the hoods latches are a joke too, I’ve had my damn battery stolen 2 times until I found locking hood latches.
Vince People are insane. I would definitely save yourself the headache and go through the dealer so you don’t void your warranty. Keep in touch let me know what you end up doing security wise and how it goes. Wouldn’t mind some more measures on mine either.
Yessir. I don’t factor a vehicle into any of my plans. Just a bonus if it does work. Also entirely too high profile. But fun while the grids up. Thanks brother 👍🏼
@@WhentheLightsgoOut same. I would like an older vehicle that doesn’t have all the electronics but there are many variables that come into play if one is going to rely on a vehicle. Mainly fuel because the pumps won’t work without power. You can only keep gas good for several months give or take with additives and all. I like how you said that if the vehicle works it’s a bonus. Thanks form the friendly chat.
Something to be said for having pride in your gear and taking care of it. Doesn’t take much for a wash and a wax once in a while. Same goes for your ground gear.
Shaun Cassady Hey man thanks for watching. The Ram mounts? They bolt on to a vector off-road dashboard. Not sure on the exact name of the product. But vector off-road is the company. Does not come factory with all jeeps unfortunately but opens up a world of possibilities.
jimmylostcozz not sure. It’s royalty free music off UA-cam audio library. Song name should be in the video description. If it’s not then I honestly couldn’t tell you
jimmylostcozz awesome man. Appreciate it. Wish I could be more specific for ya. Songs on UA-cam are a difficult thing to say the least. Welcome to the channel 😎
Honestly ebay and amazon can get most of it done for you. Obviously the more specialized things like the expedition dash and roof rack are pricey add ons. But all the lights and extra goodies are mostly just amazon special 😎 work just fine for what I need. Adding some IR lights too for some night vision driving 👍🏼
Dee Nunya Appreciate it. Just a baofeng. Haven’t dove too deep into the ham radio game yet. But works for vehicle to vehicle comms, which is what I need it for. Carry two separate ones on charge(solar set up) so they can be handed out to different vehicles. If you and your family needed to Bugout communication would be a must. You use Ham at all?
Yessir, you right. I don’t rely on anything vehicle borne for that exact reason. (And gas runs dry) not to mention you’d be a huge target. All sensitive electronics in the Bugout bag ( which is what I’d be reliant on) are in faraday bags 👍🏼 not sure how well those actually work but hopefully they do so I can keep my night vision 🤷🏻♂️
I just added the vector bar to my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. I am looking at ordering the same type of ram mounting systems for all my gear. The question that I have is the attachments you used to secure the arms to the bar. Did you prefer the RAM Zinc Coated U-Bolt Mounting Base with 1 inch Ball over the Ram Mount Torque? The Torque looks like it would be a cleaner look but wasn't sure if it would for sure fit. Looking for your input and thoughts before I order. And did you use the double arm for the iPad?
Clarence Jenn Wesloski Nice man, I love mine. You won’t be disappointed 👍🏼 the torque is the way to go in my opinion, much cleaner looking. The I pad mount is the x-grip iPad version with the larger swing arm( believe that’s the 1inch) it’s been a while since I’ve dove into the ram mount rabbit hole :P. I purchased all the mounts and swing arms on amazon. Which helped to narrow it down for me. I believe most were complete kits. Save for a few of those mounts, I remember having to fish around and order extra swing arms to make it all work. Hope that helps. Keep sending more questions if I got off track a bit :P and send some pics on Instagram, if you have, I want to see the set up. 👍🏼 congrats
@@WhentheLightsgoOut Thanks for the quick response. So you think the torque will fit onto the bar? It looks like the bar is just under 1" in diameter and the torque mount is up to 1". And I will send pics for sure when its all complete. :)
Clarence Jenn Wesloski You know it, love this stuff :P. It’s been so long to be honest, I don’t want to steer you in the wrong direction. But I’m 99% sure the torque will fit. They come with spacers. But there’s also more surface area and hold better. The zinc U bolts I had to really crank down which I don’t like.
Thanks man. It’s just a no name cargo net I found off ebay. Does the job just as well as the expensive name brand ones for a quarter the price. No issues with it👍🏼
Mauricio Moreno. Everything and every day life. All of it is a life style and most of it is about being prepared for the hobbies I have. If you find yourself off-roading somewhere remote with no service. You better have recovery gear Incase you get stuck. That same recovery gear helped to move a tree out of the road in a hurricane. It’s impossible to prepare for everything obviously. But if you arm yourself with dual purpose items. You’ve prepared yourself for most Situations. Stay prepared, stay safe 😎 thanks for watching.
Nice man. It’s simple. Just an amazon charge controller. Some wires(auto store) make sure you get a red and black. I cheaped out at first and got just black wires. Fried my inverter. (Reversed polarity) Dumb things happen. And he battery is basically a golf cart battery. Bought it at harbor freight. They market it as a dedicated solar battery. But any deep cycle(yellow top) marine battery would work great. 👍🏼
To everyone reading this....In a bugout type of world the currency for will be a gun, ammo, and flak vest. Cause you can have all that but if you can't defend it against the hungry cold dude with a gun then you just prepped for offenders sake and not your own.
This one is the Casio solar titanium protrek. Recently switched over to the solar gps g-shock Rangeman and never looking back. If you scroll through to the “covert tactical loadout” video, you can get a batter look at it there. Thanks for watching.
Thank you. It’s a no name brand cargo net off ebay. Much less expensive and, since it’s never exposed to sunlight in my case, works just as well as The pricier ones 👍🏼
Probably one of the most legit rigs I’ve ever seen. Looks to be super capable for nearly any situation. Nice job

Awesome, I’ll definitely check that out. Appreciate the recommendation 👍🏼
Bad ass bro !! Awesome setup !!
Skills2Survive Just seeing this(notifications quit on me for some reason) sorry for the late reply. Appreciate you checking it out 👍🏼 love your vids
I didn’t see where you had additional fuel storage? If your Jeep is like mine it gulps, not sips fuel. Maybe squeeze in a 5 gallon can somewhere?
What storage rack is that above your spare tire? Been looking for something like that for awhile. Thanks in advance.
Hey Joseph. I believe it’s called a safari rack, or atleast what this one was called. Mine was just one of ebay. Not the most expensive name brand ones. Had it for years and It’s held up great so far 👍🏼
Digging it man! Gave me some good ideas for the ol taco. I'm a diver too! 🤿
Fantastic man. Glad to hear it. Keep adventuring 👊🏼😎
nice car, nice configuration. I love the USA for that, it's not in Belgium that you can afford it with all the taxes 😅😅
That’s such a shame. Everyone should be able to have man toys
@@WhentheLightsgoOut for sure, I console myself by watching videos. Thanks for sharing
Wow man what a rig and loads of great gear I’m very jealous 😁
Thank you. But don’t be. 8 MPG isn’t all that great :P lol
Have you long range mobile or case HF radio to Emergency Communication over the world ?
Unfortunately not. This is just a Line of sight set up. I get about two miles with houses in between. But That’s plenty good for my needs
Where do you store weapons and ammo? Have you considered an in cab gun rack? That will be my next project for my vehicle
@@WhentheLightsgoOut nice
That's a big watch. What kind is is?
It’s the newest G-shock range man. If you type in G-Shock solar gps it should pop up 👍🏼
I checked it out. Pretty cool. Quote from the Spy Kids movie: Does it tell time???
Lol, haven’t found that function yet. I actually just recently figured out the GPS on it. Has a cool “return to home” function. Leaves breadcrumbs so you can find your way back to your broken down car or your off grid campsite. Worth the price tag so far.
Awesome channel should have way more subs!!!!
lboneyardl Thank you. We’re climbing slowly, Everyone’s been awesome so far 👍🏼 welcome to the channel.
looks like a nice vehicle to be stolen from you by somebody with more guns - certainly won't go unnoticed :)
They can have it. Terrible on gas and wouldn’t make it far :P man powered Bugout cart 🛒 is the way to go.
Ain't he cool!!! And he knows it. He probably never has used anything in there. All show no go! Love his earrings😂
Why are you so grumpy
What make/model is your handheld ham radio? It looks like one I should have, lol 📻⚡
Ha. Like the way you think 😎 It’s a beofeng UV-82, I believe. The higher wattage model. 👍🏼
@@WhentheLightsgoOut cool, thanks for the reply. I found it online. Great rig & setup, btw 👍
Appreciate it and anytime 👍🏼
Where did you get the flashlight holder for the side of your seat?
Hey Amanda. They’re mag light mounts that I got from the local bass pro. Had to drill into the seat to mount them. But was a real simple Mod. 👍🏼
Do you have a hi lift jack? I didn't notice one.
Yeah. But no jack points....makes it useless until I get side rock rails. So the flag is in the high lift mount for now
Great video
and awesome jeep. Gave me a few ideas for my jk
David McNaughton awesome, I’m glad to hear that. Thanks for checking out the channel 😎 what year jk?
Great video and awesome tutorial… I agree with the others though, the empty mug takes away from the authenticity when you spray “potable” water into it 🤨🇺🇸💪🇺🇸💪
What do you have for the security of the Jeep? With everything inside and out this would be a hot target, how do you keep it from getting stolen?
Wouldn’t mind some more measures on mine either.
awesome video - what did you use on your rotopax gas can to paint it black?
Thanks brother. Just regular old black spray paint I had laying around. Just did 4 or 5 light Coats 👍🏼
How about an update?
great video look forward to watching more.
cheers!
Thank you and welcome to the channel. More to come 😎
Great vids, Jeep and Gear. I sensed you were in the military seeing your intro video with survival pack and AR.
Edgar -69x Appreciate that brother. Various background but never went the military route.
you are definitely prepared if there was a zombie apocalypse
The highest compliment you can give a man 😎
what map program and GPS reciever are you using?
Gaia GPS. And the receiver is a dual universal xgps 150
Hey bro why don't you make videos anymore
Working on it as we speak. This one is going to be a different spin on things. Think you guys are going to like it 👍🏼
If the lights go out it’s gonna be due to an emp and all your electronics won’t work. Nice set up though.
In New Zealand our trucks never look this new, clean and unused lol. Do you have actual video's of you using the truck?
Something to be said for having pride in your gear and taking care of it. Doesn’t take much for a wash and a wax once in a while. Same goes for your ground gear.
What is the bar all the tan mounts connect to called? Is that just in Jeeps?
Shaun Cassady Hey man thanks for watching. The Ram mounts? They bolt on to a vector off-road dashboard. Not sure on the exact name of the product. But vector off-road is the company. Does not come factory with all jeeps unfortunately but opens up a world of possibilities.
What’s the song ? In the credits last song
jimmylostcozz not sure. It’s royalty free music off UA-cam audio library. Song name should be in the video description. If it’s not then I honestly couldn’t tell you
Cool man. Thanks appreciate the response. Sub’d
jimmylostcozz awesome man. Appreciate it. Wish I could be more specific for ya. Songs on UA-cam are a difficult thing to say the least. Welcome to the channel 😎
Sorry for commenting this late but how much do you think you put into your Jeep
Never too late 😎 probably around 10k in extras. Some buddies and I Have done most of the labor so saves a bunch there.
When the Lights go Out thanks man I really appreciate it I’m looking to do something similar
When the Lights go Out thanks good to know
You have a video on that micro dive rig setup?
Working on one. Got an island survival in the works
Tuff looking Truck well thought out Gear and Kìtted out nicely
The Radio is it Ham or a PMR..looks like a Baofeng
Regards
Dee Nunya Appreciate it. Just a baofeng. Haven’t dove too deep into the ham radio game yet. But works for vehicle to vehicle comms, which is what I need it for. Carry two separate ones on charge(solar set up) so they can be handed out to different vehicles. If you and your family needed to Bugout communication would be a must. You use Ham at all?
@@WhentheLightsgoOut Thinking abount it just the Foundation Level , use 446 and FM CB inc SideBand which is now Legal
Dee Nunya Then you’d already know more than I would :P it’s more like an electricians test. The license.
love it but put down cup if u demonstrate something
You should be able to execute all of your equipment one handed. In case of injury 😎
Sorry "lights out" most of that gear goes dark on the first EMP. Looks cool though and useful for an off road excursion.
@@WhentheLightsgoOut Thank you. I will order them and if they don't work I can always return them. Best regards from Alberta, Canada. :)
Clarence Jenn Wesloski gotta love amazon. Anytime man. I hope it works out for ya 😎
Hello sir,
Loved that setup !
What is that strap system on the interior ceiling of the back ?
Thanks man. It’s just a no name cargo net I found off ebay. Does the job just as well as the expensive name brand ones for a quarter the price. No issues with it👍🏼
@@WhentheLightsgoOut I watched that vid 3 times. Thats a dream setup :)
Mehmet İslam If only I could switch it over to run off solar, I’d be sold on it.
...what exactly are you prepping for?
Mauricio Moreno. Everything and every day life. All of it is a life style and most of it is about being prepared for the hobbies I have. If you find yourself off-roading somewhere remote with no service. You better have recovery gear Incase you get stuck. That same recovery gear helped to move a tree out of the road in a hurricane. It’s impossible to prepare for everything obviously. But if you arm yourself with dual purpose items. You’ve prepared yourself for most Situations. Stay prepared, stay safe 😎 thanks for watching.
When the Lights go Out an unexpectedly respectable answer. Thanks 👍🏽
any info you can share on the battery in the back of the jeep? im about to do that for my solar setup as well.
Nice video , what watch you got on? Love it
This one is the Casio solar titanium protrek. Recently switched over to the solar gps g-shock Rangeman and never looking back. If you scroll through to the “covert tactical loadout” video, you can get a batter look at it there. Thanks for watching.
A repelling video would be super cool lol
And do a video on your tent.
Darian LaForest I’ll put them both in the works. Appreciate the suggestions. Keep them coming and thanks for watching 😎
Great setup! Q: What brand is the interior cargo net you're using to stow the air purifying bags?
Thank you. It’s a no name brand cargo net off ebay. Much less expensive and, since it’s never exposed to sunlight in my case, works just as well as The pricier ones 👍🏼
@@WhentheLightsgoOut Great thanks!
Can you make a video on your trauma bag?
I’ll put it in the works 😎👍🏼
