Thx for the recipe, I'll give it a try. To pull your tailgate up from the inside use flat nylon webbing. Run it thru the crack at the bottom of the tailgate, up & around the tailgate & you have a pull cord. As for the cracks, try pipe insulation A.K.A. a noodle, or weather stripping for doors. Drive safe.
I've considered adding a strap to the tailgate for awhile now, maybe that's a video for the future. I have some weather stripping around the tailgate but alot of it has fallen off over the last few years. That's on my list of maintenance I never get done.
I had never saw this video. What an incredible view of the river!
You don't even know how good you have it. You're doing a fantastic job sharing with us. I've got so many ideas for my truck topper!
I've had plenty of those burritos! Definitely a delicacy in some places. Thankfully now I can also enjoy them while being outdoors. I'm a new subscriber and I definitely enjoy your videos!
Thanks man! I get the feeling you know exactly what I'm talking about, definitely better outdoors! Thanks for the support!
@@CrazyQuady Definitely better outdoors!! Less expensive too! 😁
The good old spread burrito! Used to eat these everyday during my vacation LMAO
Hahahaha I was thinking the exact same!!!
Same
That is a Jailhouse Burrito, I'm told they are amazing.
I'm glad someone finally noticed what it really is!🤣
Enjoying your videos! Loved the geese flying in to serenade your dinner! Enjoyed your dinner prep! Spray bottle of water great to clean cans before opening and great for clean up. Love your ventures. Thanks for sharing.
Dude that looks so cozy and chill just laying in the bed lookin out straight chilling😆🤣👌
Enjoyed the video. Hopefully you are doing well these days since the heart attack. Stay strong brother! 🙏👍🇺🇸
Just finding the channel and I love these videos man you're awesome! That's a classic recipe some of us know all to well! Alot better in the comfort of your camper/truck I imagine! Keep on keeping on
It's amazing how food tastes differently when you're outdoors camping...even the wildest concoctions of foods you would normally not eat at home. One of my favorite activities is experimenting with recipes. I do all the cooking at home (as a caregiver for my wife, confined to a wheelchair, but who is self sufficient) and it helps me with creativity. I never thought to put ramen noodles in my trash can burritos, just left overs and a fried egg on occasion with sriracha or a spicy chili sauce. I do like half-cooked ramen noodles in my hamburger, sort of like putting potato chips in the burger. For desserts I like those Dole pineapple chunks in a cup lightly salted and sprinkled with Tajin spice. A great cup of coffee goes well anytime you're camping. Expedition Joe sells incredible bags of ground coffee flavors and the store is based in Georgia. I make the coffee cowboy style. Just before pouring the coffee add a small amount of water which makes the grounds fall to the bottom of the pot. Jason of Primal Outdoors channel turned me onto the coffee and Pendleton whiskey :)
Ramen is great with everything! I'll have to check out the coffee trick! Thanks for all the support!
love watching Jason of Primal Outdoors too :)
I would have never thought to put all that stuff together but it looks hearty and warm.
They're pretty good eating! Give them a try sometime!
94.8K subs! Keep it up! So close to 100K!
I love watching your older videos when I’m working just in the background. My ears perked up when I heard the Belted Kingfisher calling
These are the lost videos I enjoy from you my friend.🤗 Never forget your focus, if not you will loose enjoying what you are doing here on YT.
well organized well thought out no expensive gear except for the truck. Dont take alot to go out and have a good time.
The simpler the better! Thanks for watching!
In any name, those sir, are Jailhouse burritos!🤣 Much love to the use of authentic ingredients such as Summer sausage, beans (dip), and of course the versatile Ramen (I prefer Texas beef flavor). The Fritos are also a must (any chip will suffice). I will say to anyone who hasn’t tried one of these - give them a try…you won’t be disappointed. Excellent content as usual bud. Keep it lit!!
What a view!I love nature. Thanks for the camp. Cheers.
I have a leer shell, you can lock it with two small vise grip needle nose pliers, one on each side, some folks use a strand of paracord on each latch too...but I like the vise grips, easier to unlock from the inside. Also depending on how your latch rotates you can use a small block of wood under the arm that rotates over to keep some draft out, get some gasket matherial from a lowes or home depot and put it between the tailgate where it meets the bed, horizontally along the bottom of the bed and vertically too on each side of the tail gate to get a better seal
I'll have to try the vise grips, that's about the only thing I could think of anyway. I have weather stripping on the sides and bottom of the tailgate, I just have gaps in the rear window on the sides. I think some weather stripping on there would probly close the gap pretty easily
Dammit Quady, you've been to jail dammit !! Because anybody that makes Ramen gourmet food, has been there. Lmao
Thanks again for another great video !!
next he gonna be eating Shabangs chips🤣
Love your videos dude. Just came across of your videos about a week ago and now I'm hooked. Keep up the good work 👏
I’ve got that same heater! Used to use it all the time when RV camping. Looks like a good spot to camp sir!
It's a great little heater isn't it? Thanks for watching!
Looks comfy in there Quady
It sure is!
While locked down, this was like a blessing. 😂
🤣 indeed
Not warning the tortilla and beans is making me want to jump in the tv and do it for you lol. Great video Mike!
Popped up in my feed, why not watch again.
Krazy be a mighty fine cook
It was mid 80's today, but watching this still makes me cold. Imma call it a day and hit the waterbed, all warm and toasty!!
I'm excited for more snow camping this year!
I'm not big on meat and have always used refried beans but Never have thought to use Bean dip instead, *What a great idea!!!*
*Thanks!!!* 💚
I love that you used the bean dip! I love the stuff and have never done anything out than using it as a dip! You have opened my eyes and mind ,,LOL The whole meal looked killer man! Now I'm definitely stealing this from you I think my grandson will enjoy this while out camping
Locks are cool, but get some protection, never know it can save your life. For inside locks ( I have one) I epoxied 3/4 marine ply about 3 x 3 inches to the tailgate and the window, put a base and a padlock on it from the inside. Small unobtrusive, in the end wont keep someone out who really wants in but then again nothing really will for a determined whatever....that's where the protection comes, doesn't have to a be a firearm, good bear spray or pepper spray a good place to start. Your bed looks nearly identical to my setup, I live in CO and hit the darkside of the mountains for space viewing telescope stuff....Did have a bear try to take my cooler one night but the more dangerous kind walks on 2 legs.
Honestly just came here for trash can burritos. Didn't realize it was a 30 min video. But this is one hell of a budget setup. Nicely done.
Thanks! The truck shell is a great way to get out and have a good time!
@@CrazyQuady I noticed. I've been looking at tons and will be building my own from the ground up. Can't wait. When I do I'll be coming back here to write down your recipe.
Awesome video, and amazing spot for a campsite. That was a good idea for a quick easy and cheap meal. I'll have to give that a shot. I usually stick to the old fashioned style camping meals, burgers, hot dogs etc. Definitely need to try different stuff! Truck set up is definitely coming along nicely super clean!
Thanks man! I do alot of grilling during the summer months but it's nice to have something like this that I can prepare inside pretty easily and still have a warm meal!
I love natural. Thank you so much for sharing!
Yo man, haven't had a Surge in a while! And that burrito looked like something I've made before on a drunken night lol! Also it's crazy those Geese sat on the ice all night like aren't their feet cold!?
Haha the surge was great and the burrito was better! I dont know about those crazy geese, I would want to sit on the ice all night!
Hey Quady! It’s great to see how far the truck has come! I just started watching your content. You really put a lot of work into your truck. Looks good in the new content.
Thanks!
It's happy hour for them...dissing the one who lead them...lol.
I like eating the dehydrated pea's...Nice little setup you have there! I have a little transit connect with a similar setup, and it's nice going camping!
Thanks!
This burrito sponsored by the munchies. " when that hungry hits and you just gotta throw something together"
In prison, where this recipe originates, that mess is called a "spread", and usually saved for low-key celebrations. Each convict brings what he has and they just make up what is basically a cell block pot-luck.
🤣 where do you think I learned how to make these...
never in my life seen a cheddar flavor in those cup of noodles
Good stuff Mike! Bummer about no ice buuuuuut it looked like a balmy day... shoulda brought some shorts! Keeping your recipe bookmarked for a rainy (snowy?) day.
Thanks man! Give them a try sometime and let me know what you think!
...what a COZY set up you've made...I'm vicariously camping with you...! 😷👣
Thanks for watching!
I dig the spread.
Thanks
Awesome as always Mike.
Just binge-watching your videos lol 😆
Thanks for the awesome videos
KEEP ADVENTURING
GOD BLESS YOU
🤗HUGS🤗
Hello, new to your channel. You mentioned cutting out some of the reflectix so you can see out. I did that on mine, cut a maybe 5" upside C (three sides), so when they are in there, I can look out if I hear something / someone. I made a pull for it using clear tape too. I sleep inside our truck when I go back to Colorado from Tx, it can get hot inside, but I use the reflectix for the privacy, so, I also cut a flap from the top of the window area. To keep it down, I put heavy duty velcro dots, works great, now I can keep the cut out open for air or just push it back up and its all closed again. Keep up the videos. thanks :) (Carol D in Tx)
Great tip using the clear tape for a little pull tab!
Burritos oh yes
My boi is making a jail house spread 😂😂😂
Its like a jail house burrito basically we call that a spread in jail fire homie 🤘🏻🤙🏻
When I was drinking one night II had a chip sandwich really good
Hey Crazy quade ? Hope you ok
And all yr Nebraska friends
Be safe
Man you are awesome love watching these videos.✌
Hi there! Greetings from Austin TX. New subscriber here. Good video. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks for the support, more camping videos on the way!
Only thing you're missing is the Cactus Annie's jalapeño squeeze cheese! 😜
Looking great good eating stay safe thanks
haha, some of you might have had this before and at some places, it is a delicacy :D
Awesome video and looks cozy lol
Thanks!
Descent set up but check out "Sin Rumbo 1" Ford Ranger T-6 camper bed build for ideas.
I'll check it out!
Awesome video and amazing burritos 🌯 👍❤️🍻
Ive seen a guy do a burrito similar to that. He called it a prison burrito. His was more Congealed.
Thanks for the great videos I love watching you I am from eveleth minnesota but I live in thief river falls minnesota. Since 2015
Looks good I'll have to give it a try sometime
Give it a shot!
When I was locked up we made this a lot jail food for sure
Steve Wallis wants to know your location.
The legend himself? I doubt that 🤣! I'm just hanging out in good old Nebraska!
@@CrazyQuady He is where I got the corn chips and putting a can of chilly in the bag lol
Steve was last seen hunkered down!
Definently a good commissary meal
😉
Classic jail house burrito
Beautiful view! I could watch that for hours!
It was great to lay there with the window open and have that view! Thanks for watching!
Fish burritos
Don't think I'd like the trash burrito. But for years I bought Summer Sausage but have completely forgotten. So thanks for reminding me. I'm getting Summer Sausage, Ritz Crackers, and cheese. Yum. I also love sardines and or smoked oysters with crackers and cheese. Yum. First time viewer. I love the sound of the ducks. Also there's now a pack of shredded beef to go with that burrito, and bean dip. That would be quick and easy... Stay safe😷😷😷
you help motivate us to do more with less, cheers dude!
good ol spread.
Prison burritos!!! lol
Where on the Platte River is this camp spot? Looks pretty cool.
It looked cold out there brother great video though o enjoyed it
Thanks man!
It looks cold, but it's romantic.
It was a little cold! Thanks for watching!
Wonderful view and food, always a good time camping. Gta try the frito pie like Steve lol.
I'll be doing the frito pie at some point im sure 👍
I'll give you one thing, if it ain't squirming you'll eat it
Take me camping with you 😁
This meal also known as a prison burrito
How in the world did you smash that soup up without putting your fingers through it? Can't do it without making a big mess😂😂😂😂😂
I watched your most recent video about the contents of your truck cab. You had mounted a fire extinguisher on the drivers side rear door. I got to thinking that you might want to either move that one, or buy a second one, and have in the back of the truck. With you cooking in the back you'd have a hard time getting to that fire extinguisher in the truck cab if something went wrong and you caught your bed on fire.
You're absolutely right, I plan to pick up another extinguisher for the bed area
@@CrazyQuady Safety First!! Sorry, I stayed awake once to often during the safety service talks at work! I should have slept through it. lol Yeah, I don't figure burning to death is high on your list of life goals.
looks like a burrito that you would make in prison....lol
It's negative22 now
Should try them with the jalapeño cheese ramen, a can cheese I think we had crazy cow or something like that in Omaha, a cheese potato chip, summer sausage and honey. Good shit
I've never tried it with honey, that sounds weird!
@@CrazyQuady give it a shot one day, you’ll be surprised, just use it like you did the hot sauce
Hey love your cooking, is
Very entertaining. I am
Recommending you to
Everybody ;)
Looks like death burritos 🤣✌️
But they taste so good!
NICE That looks bomb
Oh yes yum
Spread!! Lol 😂 TDCJ CO 20yrs! It’s a great way to save money and feed a lot of peeps!!
Right!! lets just say these were a delicacy for me for a few years. Im glad this video could bridge the gap!
@@CrazyQuady hey! Glad you are doing well and producing good videos! I still make a spread every now and then! God bless you!!
Could you do a video on the installation of the curtains.
Check out the video on my channel called "My Truck Camping Setup", I show how they mount. It's very simple to do.
@@CrazyQuady thank you.
@@ritawilson8762 You're welcome! I believe the part # and possibly a link to the clips I used for the curtain rods is in the description or the comments for that video
The only thing that could have made that better was some DEEECENT HOT SAUCE!
You're right! I still have some...why didnt I think of that??
@@CrazyQuady Love your videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks, I've got some good stuff coming down the line!
CrazyQuady can’t wait!
Hey, the noise of the heater doesn't bother me and I don't hear so well.
When I went camping in my camper shell , on mine I could turn the latches from inside and where the latch rods went through the latch plates I put needle nose vice grips on the back side of the latch plates when the rods were through them and it couldn't be opened from the outside , I'm not sure if that will work on yours or not because I'm not sure if you have close to the same type of latches or setup on your camper shell .
I use a couple of small chains and hooks to keep the latches secure, here's the video on how I did it. ua-cam.com/video/aMk5ShP_zdk/v-deo.html
Jim Ross like video Atlanta 😊😊😊❤
Monday
......camper lookz cozy ✨......would rather camp in an old suburban though.......just sayin'.......man! it was epic when you stuffed that big piece of burrito into your mouth.......must be a guy thing 🤠
I'd love a Suburban, being able to get in the drivers seat without getting out of the camper area would be nice. Thanks for watching!
looks nice there...where in Nebraska was this? I don't recall being able to camp so closely to the Platte. Thx
There are a couple spots around Omaha where you can camp that close to the river. Two Rivers rec area and Louisville rec area.
Tell me you've been to prison without telling me you've been to prison...
Was that a surge you were drinking on?
Prison burritos dawg lol. Still taste good tho lol
