Wow! There is so much to unpack here that I don’t know where to start. The countertenor has exquisite musicianship and I love how the conductor seems to channel the music through his very soul.

There is a whole world of genius in this performance. I think the soprano is wonderful, but Mr. Buwalda is from another world of beauty. Even in the very first phrase, he's shaping and coloring every note--not just shaping a phrase. So DA and TE have a tiny bloom--an on and on it goes. It's so exquisite. New on my bucket list: must hear Syste Buwalda live at the soonest possible occasion.

I listened to the performance in it's entirety before I checked the info and read the comments. I was going to say that the countertenor, (Mr. Sytse Buwalda) is truly magnificent. But @LindaPgh made the case much better than I would have, and I agree with the sentiment completely.
On a side note: If I should reach the place of historical spiritual traditions' promise, (ie: Heaven), this performance would rate as an eight-out-of-ten of what I expect to hear in the voices of the Seraphim and Cherubim.
