The idea that she was a normal girl raised to be nothing more than a princess, only to suddenly be forced into being a warlord makes her personality far more understandable. Always apologetic because she's afraid of messing up, which if she does, could mean the end of her entire clan. Too bad the writers didn't explain this very well, maybe if they did, not as much of the English fandom would be so vocal about hating her.

It's great to see you back in your element Drake and I'm surprised that you picked to start off with the princess of I am sorry. Granted I did really enjoy the small little bit of history that you did involving her as well as the fact that Dead or alive 5 was able to mimic all of her attacks from samurai Warriors and the fact that she is pretty hot. It's just her over apologizing for stuff that isn't her fault is what irritates me and my friends because it's like yeah she's attractive and yes her fighting style is cool but please stop apologizing! I also understand now that she is supposed to be different from all the other female characters who wanted to be Warriors but they could have done that a little bit better with her in my opinion. Overall though fantastic analysis as always!
God i hate her character, so glad she's been scrapped in 5 as Sena has essentially replaced her. If they ever bring her back, make her more like Basara version please
I'd like a healthy middle ground between them. Both versions of Naotora aren't great. One is a raging man hater and the other is sexualized to the point of absurdity. Why settle for one extreme over the other when we can do better?
