The first seasons as the Wizards. They traded Webber for an out of his prime Mitch Richmond, Kings start winning while Wizards get worse. When you look back at the players Washington drafted and you wonder 'what if', guys like Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, getting Webber after his rookie season could've been a special core to this team and could've made some noise. They got nothing back for either of those players and that goes to show you how Washington has been one of the worst managed franchises in the NBA over the last 30 years. On another note, is it just me or was the NBA a lot better in the 90s and early 2000s than it is now? I don't get that same feeling today as I got when I watched the NBA in that era. In todays NBA there's no defense, no competition, super teams, load management and it's very predictable. The players mindsets is just a lot different than they were in the past. I'm glad I was old enough to have been able to watch the NBA in the 90s and early 2000s because it's nothing like it used to be now. We'll never see this kind of NBA again. We rely on channels like this to watch old highlights and it makes you reminisce how good we had it as fans.
That game was the last game ever at the Cap Centre/USAir Arena because they will moved into the new then-called MCI Center the next game against the Sonics.
I was 12 year's old at this game when I was still in lyburn downing middle school. I was at the us.s. air arena with a relative seeing my first nba game and Michael,Jordan and meeting Moses Malone in the hallway for an autograph signing.
Michael jordan was one of the very Best that I ever saw in person putting on an unbelievable game with his dynamic teammates.
