Great video, for people who want to do a trip like this I would advise to plan the routes carefully with a website like hammerhead routing website or comparable. It can show you the official cycling routes and prevents you from running into 15% hills. That is just really annoying with bikes + luggage.

Hahaha. It’s my own personal mix and am very glad with this feedback! Commentary is necessary to provide info, which I find really important. So that’ll stay a part of it :)

That's a spectacular part of Spain! I've cycled through Oviedo on the Camino del Norte. Some of that is a bit rough before Bilbao. Those seats look good, my 3 legged one is not very good.

Tristan, do you happen to have a complete list of what you carried? I was intrigued that you carried chairs and a drone! I'd like to know what else you packed. I've traveled from Donostia to Tarifa and must use a CPAP overnight. I love the idea of ?Warm Showers? and fell in love w/ the hoteles rurales. I've been thinking of traveling through the Picos area this coming Spring. (Covid-depending, naturally). I have to admit, your camera placement, your sequencing, your composition of each scene as well as the transitions are the best I've ever seen. You clearly are, or are as close as anyone can be to a professional, or extremely gifted amateur! If you can expound on any do's/don't's or what you'd do next time somewhere to share, I would appreciate it greatly. Feel free to DM me
Thanks for typing that out, Kevin! There should be a complete list in the description of the video, but it’ll be an older setup as a lot has changed from then. My new and updated kit will be added to my website before the end of the year as I feel like it’s pretty refined right now. So keep an eye out! Wearing a facemark was mandatory in all of Spain at that time, so we were happy to comply! Only if you'd be eating in a restaurant you could take it off. Pretty solid rules, to be honest.

And do you use them like your old one, get as much fly time out of one battery 👍them trails looked tough to ... 🙈 love the cafe stops you guys have , in very nice tranquil villages....

Thank you very much! This ought to have been in summer, probably August. The north generally gets cooler weather than the rest of Spain!

Amazing video! How cold does it get in the mountains in Mid May? I was thinking of going there but not sure what sort of sleeping bag I'll need!
It can still get pretty cold up there! No snowfall, I think. But packing enough layers is definitely recommended, as well as a good sleeping bag. Do geese a favor if you get a new one by purchasing recycled down 👍🏼

Were the still photos in your central Asia videos also shot with the em5iii?
No, those were shot on a Canon M5. But I definitely prefer the quality of the Olympus EM5III … as it also shoots 4K!
I’m hoping to take a bike on trains from Santander to Malaga . Does anyone know if that’s possible?
What types of lenses do u use?
Recently switched to an Olympus setup with an OM-D E-M5 mark III and one 17mm F1.8 as well as a M.Zuiko Pro 12-100mm F4. On future trips I’m substituting both for an all-round M.Zuiko Pro 12-40mm F2.8 lens, as it covers everything I’m looking for in a single lens. Oh, and I can hugely recommend the Moment VND filter (2-5) - it was a massive bonus in all the bright sunlight we got and super easy to use.
@@tristanbogaard many thanks for your feedback! I am also huge fan of Olympus (currently mark II) and now I am looking for extra lenses for my cycling trips to capture all beautiful landscapes :)
@@CyclingAround I haven't put it to sufficient testing yet, but I look forward to eventually reviewing the 12-40mm for bicycle travel. I have the feeling it'll be the best lens I've used so far, considering it's even crispier than the lens these videos were shot on!
