I once wrote a poem called, "I Am." Just thought I'd share: Wondering lonely without a guide through webs of sorrow and trial am I. Where is my path? Where is my light? Who can give me back my sight? A gentle voice beckons me near; He whispers to “come, without fear.” Who is this voice who says I can? A humble response; “the Great I Am.” Though tired and weak I begin to believe. My sins and weakness I plead to relieve. My back He strengthens; my shoulders He lifts. My unfaithful acts He mercifully sifts. The Lamb of God sacrificed in scorn, Did it for me so I'd be reborn. I bow in reverence to this perfect man. He asks, “Art thou willing?” I reply, “I am.” Praise to Thy name! May glory be Thine! His spilt blood cleansed that tired soul of mine. I now see my road to my heav'nly abode, while the Great I Am helps carry my load. Embraced and encouraged; of His love I'll sing. He's my Savior and Lord, my Redeemer and King. Equally yoked, we'll take a stand, and step forth together with a resounding “I am.”
Thank you so much for all these comforting words and teachings. Thank you for help me better realize who is God. I know he is there and has shown his love for me many many many times and that he hears me, but to hear your words confirming what God has already told me is just marvelous, especially in these troubles personal days and worldwide difficulties. God bless both of you all you do and your smiles and laughters.
I don't know where I got the idea that a miracle was, God snapping his fingers and it happening right then & there. The older I get, the more I realize what is being taught, largely thanks to wonderful teachers & class participants who share! God works on answering our prayers from the minute we pray them, sometimes even before. It gives new meaning to the principle of "In The Lord's Time." He doesn't just snap his fingers and make it happen most of the time. He uses the natural processes of the universe, the earth and the nature of man.
Love Love Love! You are right! The Old Testament is becoming my favorite. Thank you for explaining "I AM". It changes how I look at who the Savior is and how He provides for me along my path in my story. So good!!!
It’s so cool for us to say “ I am…” and fill in the blank because we are everything Christ is. When we vocalize it we come to believe it.that’s why we say our youth Themes- “ I am a daughter of heavenly parents”…
I love the comment, "the baby is in the basket". This is something we can all hold onto when life becomes difficult and we are praying for relief. God is in charge and he won't forget his people whether they belong to our church or not.
Love when David said “why would I follow someone I don’t know?” The more effort we put in to follow God and Jesus, the more trust we will have. You guys make me love the Old Testament more and more with every lesson!
I’m new to ‘Don’t Miss This.’ And I’m OBSESSED! I enjoyed TOFW in Raleigh, NC, this past weekend. I purchased my advent wreath in Raleigh, and it is gorgeous! I love Easter so much and have often thought that it should get more props than Christmas. Very excited to celebrate Easter this year.
56:29 - I love this, David! I like to teach my Youth that sometimes your greatest weakness is your greatest STRENGTH! ✨️ It makes you humble & you trust in God. Then, He can use you for His purposes!
"I Am" I always thought it was possibly Our Father saying, I am (here) I will always be here for you. Just as a Mom replies to her child who inquires, "Mom, where are you?" The Lord says, don't worry, "I Am Here!"
I love that this is the lesson for the week I am currently 40weeks+ pregnant with a boy and he will be delivered at home with a Midwife. And he will be my 7th child and through each of my births I have felt the Closest to God even more so than being in the Temple and it's a Beautiful Blessing for me and my family. When we first found out that we were pregnant we kept it secret for 3+ months.
How wonderful! I have seven and have had 5 of them at home. :) I also went to 43 weeks. . Perfect little babies and Momma. I hope you're cuddling that baby and enjoying newborn Moments.
Grateful for Emily's remark that we don't have to receive an official calling in the church to be of service! The entire Relief society in my ward was released back in October, the other 3 former member have received a new calling except me! I was feeling dejected, but Emily's remark have given me a new perspective! Thanks for your wonderful lessons.
Service project idea: I took David & Emily’s idea & served 6 families in my neighborhood. I would post a pic, but I don’t know how. I took a med/large gift bag and put the following gifts: A 5x7 frame from the DI $1.00-$1.50, typed up this quote from Pres. Nelson: “Easter is all about peace and hope, on this Palm Sunday, I invite you to make this coming week truly holy, by remembering, not just the palms that were waved to honor the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem, but by remembering the palms of his hands. Isaiah wrote, “Behold I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands: thy walls are continually before me.” I put a pic of palm leaves in top left corner of the quote and found a pic of his palm (Christus) center under the quote and framed it. I purchased 6 mugs from the $ Tree, and typed up about 50-60 service ideas and put the strips in the mug with the scripture quote from Jesus about serving. I printed off the 8 cards folded them, wrapped a white ribbon around them and typed up the instructions for the week & pasted it to a lamb that I cut out and hung on the outside of the bag. I invited them to purchase the Immanuel wreath if they could and from the DMT newsletter I put the list of things to gather for Easter week and put that in the bag, hopefully to allow them time to gather the items to participate and invited them to follow DMT on UA-cam Easter week. I prayed for inspiration on who I should give these gift bags to and was inspired. This is my 2nd year. The first year was something different, but I loved Dave & Emily’s idea so much I decided to do it for my 2nd year. It was an amazing feeling the entire time I worked on this service project.
I know we are not even near half way though the Old Testament…but I am obsessed with it! I dreaded for years and years to read it! I opened so many times the Bible with the intention to read the Old Testament…. But I remember Emily’s promise, you will “looooove the Old Testament” . Emily i am!!! I knew about all or the people there, but now?…. I relate to them and there stories!!! And I am meeting new people!!!! I discovered this week the hidden women working behind the scene like the midwifes !. I cried every time I imagen Joseph “wept” such tender moments when he wept… to know that “Covenants” are essential in our relationship with God… I never understood covenants until now… I have been member of the church of Jesus Christ of LDS and I never really, I think understood what is to be part of this covenant people. YES EMILY, i am absolutely loving the Old Testament. Thank you both. (Reading along the “new Oxford annotated Bible)
I loved all of this! And at 33-34 min in, talking about the bush, I was reminded of this quote from Elder Holland: We are not alone in our little prisons here. When suffering, we may in fact be nearer to God than we’ve ever been in our entire lives. That knowledge can turn every such situation into a would-be temple. I love that we can have temple experiences without physically being IN the actual temple. Although, I don’t always enjoy the suffering, this is a great reminder. 🥰
You mentioned a count down to Easter. I am excited to participate in these events, I do not want to wake up and suddenly realize it is Easter, and I have missed out on the opportunity to each day form and develop a personal foundation of the Easter celebration and draw closer to our Savior. I welcome this invitation.
I recently felt the "urge" and "push" to learn Biblical Hebrew. I tried to learn on my own but it was so far over my head I knew I needed help. So I found the Institute of Biblical Hebrew in Israel. It was going to be more than I could afford. But through miracles, I was able to. My teacher lives in Jerusalem and has taught me more about the Book of Mormon than he even knows. The story of Moses' basket intertwines with the story of the Jaredites so deeply as I have learned what words mean...and names. I am in the third class now and it is getting incredibly hard- but God continues to provide a way. I never had a love for the Old Testament like I do now.
I took my Biblical Hebrew classes from them too!! Loved it!! Still learning but I loved how much my testimony of the restoration was reinforced every time I had a class with my Hebrew (Jerusalem) professor. So amazing!!
This lesson brought to mind the song “I Am Here” by the Bonner Family, which has been a sweet reminder of His presence when at times the weight of things feels more than I can take.
You two are so great making these lessons so amazing. I actually think you're the only channel where it's easy and pleasant to listen to👌. The sense of humor keeps my teens awake and interested as well🤩👌. So my daughter has been studying wild life biology so we've seen some animal documentaries and so from what I know, you grab a snake by the trail. Only very experienced native to area can grab by the head😅🤣. You grab a snake by the head with no experience you'll be meeting it's fangs before you can ever even touch 😵. Loved how you told that story, my teens got a good laugh 😅. Keep up these amazing lessons. I wish I would've found your channel long time ago.
I don't know if this was part of your intention, David, but when you said that a closet can be holy it made me think of my LGBT brothers and sisters. Its a wrestle I don't experience, and one I don't envy, but God is there with them
Loved meeting you this past weekend.at tofw ..you have such a beautiful sweet loving peaceful and humble spirit just radiating around you a pure pleasure you made my ad my daughters year!!
I love that God uses the name, 'I AM' because it directly intimates who we are and what we can be. By extension by saying:"I am..." in most cases people unwittingly take the Lords name upon themselves and whatever follows is as we believe we are. I personally consider this used in any untruthful connotation as a form of taking the Lord's name in vain. This extends into the realm of one of Satan's tools of what is now known as identity politics, tribalism, or intersectionality. All of which detracts us away from our divine nature as sons and daughters of the Living God. How important it is to understand these things!
Inspiring and informative and thought provoking and personal beyond degree. Thank you both for a marvelous lesson. I’m thinking I’ll no doubt watch this two or three more times this week
Hi this is Corey Miles 😊 pray for me and my Family. Pray 🙏 me to listen to God and keep my Job 💓. I want to make a bigger pay check. To help my Family and my mom with groceries.
I caught a 6 foot Bull snake in my back yard last summer, if you only have your hands you have to grab it by the tail and then I put my other hand behind the head. It was fine. We put it in a pillow case and released it back to the outskirts of the city. If it was a venomous Cobra or something I would have called someone to do it for me. ;-D
Feel impressed upon to tell you, awhile back I was prompted to look up an article on Adam-ondi-Ahman, in it it explained that mountain tops and wilderness were Temples to ancient prophets.😊
I think of the rod that Moses used as the Iron Rod, or the Word of God, which represents God’s power, the straightness of the way, and the direction we should follow.
If you have “ the Old Testament made easier” by David Ridges you would both absolutely love the quote he includes by the Jewish historian Josephus, pg 11 in Exodus 2. Fascinating!! Just had to share in case you haven’t read his writings!
When I read the Lord introducing Himself as “I Am that I Am” it makes sense to me to place emphasis on the word “that”. He’s saying “I Am THAT I Am” as in “I Am the one and only, the great, I Am”.
In the old Russian/slavyanski bible the phrase I am that I am "Я есмь Сущий" essentially translates to "I am Existence" or "tell them 'Existence' hath sent you..." Or could also say "I am who is" Pretty cool
Hey David,… Moses leaves Egypt and meets the family of Medionites which will become his family …. And this people already have played a part in God’s plan in Gen 37:36 it was they who sold Joseph to Potiphar the Egyptian. 🙈😲
In a play at Tuachan…Moses in his basket on the river was represented by a row of people laying on the stage and rolling back and forth to indicate the motion of the water. When the basket was introduced these rolling people lifted up their arms and safely passed that basket across the surface of the river. I don’t know that I’ve seen a better representation -of a miracle- on stage.
When I was on study abroad in Israel, we went to the Sinai Peninsula, climbed the mountain that is traditionally considered Sinai. We joked that the miracle wasn't that the bush was burning, the miracle was that there was a bush. Not a lot of vegetation out there. Not sure what the sheep were finding to eat.
More symbolism: What is a staff? It is used to lead with. Another symbol for Christ is the Snake. So when the staff turns into a snake and back into to a staff, it symbolizes that Christ will be the Staff, or the One leading.
love your lessons. The other books I have been studying would agree the girl was Mariam Moses’s older sister she would have to be older to talk to Pharaohs daughter.
Hi this is Lashondra Miles 😊 pray 🙏 for me and my Family ❤️ with some Food and some money.Blessmy daughter s too take care of themselves. Help me to listen to God and go to Church. Amen 🙏

Interesting what Emily said about how they “become threatening, whatever that number is” it caused concern. The same thing happened to the early saints. The towns people felt threatened and they began to cause problems for the saints, thus they were persecuted and continually driven out.
Could someone please direct me to where to download and print the Easter celebration cards? I've scoured the newsletter that DB and EBF reference that I've subscribed to, but don't see a link for it anywhere. Thank you in advance.
if you get the "Don't Miss This" Newsletter that usually comes out on Monday from Emily and you scroll down pass the Promises it talks about Easter and it is a PDF that you can download. It is GREAT.
@@ymrobi I apparently thought I was reading the newsletter it wasn't even though it said newsletter in my email inbox. I googled and came across your description thank you for your help!
I thought I would be called by my given name and then my husband's name. I have recently been a victim of identity theft. I've gone to the police. They are too busy to help me. So, I'm not myself anymore. It's a strange fear 😰. But above all, I know that my Father in Heaven and my mother and Savior know who I am...and that's all that matters.
Hi this is Felicia Miles 😊 pray 🙏 for me and my Family to move to our house 🏘️ soon. Please 🙏 pray for me to go to Church Sunday morning 🌄, I need some money 💰 and food, Amen
Midwives go into the work because they want to help bring life into the world. It is totally shocking that a leader who enslaves the people they serve would even expect that they would do what he told them to when it went SO contrary to their very purpose. I am so grateful for the example of the midwives in this story!
Hi this is Clara Williams EPPERSON, pray 🙏 for me and my Family.Bless me to get Stimulus check s. Bless me 😃 God 🙏 with some Food and some money 💰. Jesus Christ. Amen 🙏
Does anyone have more insight into Exodus 4:22-26? The language is strange to me and doesn’t make much sense. I know it has some covenant significance but I I don’t understand what that is.
As I am watching this I keep having questions pop up and wondered if anyone can answer them. How did Pharaoh’s daughter know The baby- Moses was a Hebrews child? How did they know who the mother was? in chapter 2 verse 8 they went to get the child’s mother. Just super curious. So it was ok for Pharaohs daughter to have a male Hebrew child but he made all the other Hebrew males be killed?
I think that they may have known he was Hebrew because of the cloth he was swaddled in. And the fact that he was Hebrew was kept secret from pharaoh. Those thoughts could be based on the movie though and not doctrine. 😬😂
He would have been circumcised which was the Hebrew custom/law and not done by Egyptians. It was Moses’ sister who told Pharaoh’s daughter that she ,Miriam, would get a nurse for the baby. Then Miriam got her mother.
Joseph lead the Israelites in to Egypt. He went from a sheep herder to a prince. Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt and he went from a prince to a sheep herder 🤔
Please let everyone know the 2 names of the Midwives Very good to know And I have read that the parents have names Good thing to know Please let everyone know ❤️❤️ Yes more people have information to share . Just ask, Reading The book of the historical book of Joesphus, spelling of the name? Has much more about his life Cool I think.
You have to remember that the Egyptians believed that Shepherds were the lowest of the low. They were the unspeakables. Suddenly Moses was nothing, had nothing and was invisible to all Egyptians.

Thank you for adding the suggested youth Sunday School teaching outline at the end. It’s so very helpful!
I love their sense of humor, perfect for my personality, I know THEY have a sense of humor as well, I am as His image!
Bless me to to Church Sunday morning 🌄😊. Bless me with some Food and some money 💰 Jesus Christ. Amen 🙏
I LOVE GLITTER ✨ 💖
I now want a T-shirt that says “ God’s Glitter ✨ “ ☺️-of course in super sparkly glitter letters!!!
I don't know if this was part of your intention, David, but when you said that a closet can be holy it made me think of my LGBT brothers and sisters. Its a wrestle I don't experience, and one I don't envy, but God is there with them
Betty Horn: Go to 16:03 -
I love you sweet lady! You got this! God is in the details!
🙌💪💙😇🙏🏼👊🥰
Hi this is Corey Miles 😊. Bless me with some Food and some money for work.Bless me to listen to God and my mom 🤩. Amen
Loved meeting you this past weekend.at tofw ..you have such a beautiful sweet loving peaceful and humble spirit just radiating around you a pure pleasure you made my ad my daughters year!!
Thank you! Great as usual.
Psalms 82:6 and John 10:34 Jesus said.... Ye are gods 🙏
Inspiring and informative and thought provoking and personal beyond degree. Thank you both for a marvelous lesson. I’m thinking I’ll no doubt watch this two or three more times this week
I do that every week and get more every time I listen!
It's wonderful how the Lord had Moses practice - Bee Four going in front of Pharaoh 🙏
"I will be what tomorrow demands"
Hi this is Corey Miles 😊 pray for me and my Family. Pray 🙏 me to listen to God and keep my Job 💓. I want to make a bigger pay check. To help my Family and my mom with groceries.
48:00 it is easiest to grab a snake and control it from its tail end...FYI
I love Christ's name of I AM....because Christ is everything....
Even though its hard to understand we must trust HIS process
The genius of Jochebed is she found a way to preserve her baby AND obey pharaoh. She put her baby in the river.
Hi this is Corey Miles 😊 pray for me and my Family ❤️ with some Food and some money 💸. Amen
Not sure what the sheep were finding to eat.
i love it so much it is so hert tuching
More symbolism: What is a staff? It is used to lead with. Another symbol for Christ is the Snake. So when the staff turns into a snake and back into to a staff, it symbolizes that Christ will be the Staff, or the One leading.
love your lessons. The other books I have been studying would agree the girl was Mariam Moses’s older sister she would have to be older to talk to Pharaohs daughter.
Hi this is Felicia Miles pray for me and my Family and my dog and my Rabbit 🐰. I want my own bedroom and my own Apartment.Amen!

Interesting what Emily said about how they “become threatening, whatever that number is” it caused concern. The same thing happened to the early saints. The towns people felt threatened and they began to cause problems for the saints, thus they were persecuted and continually driven out.
Where can I get a big note book that you guys have ? Do you happen to sell those ?
Hi this is Lashondra Miles 😊 pray 🙏 for me and my Family ❤️. Bless me with some Food and some money 💰 Jesus Christ 🙏. Amen
Hi this is Clara Epperson Williams 😍 🙏🙏 for me and my Family and my animal s. We need some Food and some money 💰
I am.... Psalms 82:6 and John 10:34 Jesus said.... "Ye are gods"🙏
👋🏻 I am here
Where do I find the downloads? I signed up for the newsletter but it doesn’t look like a come follow me newsletter. Thanks so much!
I have the same question??!!!
Exodus, Bob Marley! Hope to see ya' in Niagara Falls, we have a canal too...
I can’t seem to find the link to the Easter week cards on your website.
And I have read more info from the Book of Joseph Smith and you find much more JST

@@eldel78 thank you
Joseph lead the Israelites in to Egypt. He went from a sheep herder to a prince.
Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt and he went from a prince to a sheep herder 🤔

HELP ! My app has quit working - no “Daily” no “Study”. No nothing ! What do I do ?..
I watch in you tube
I think you just need to close out the app and reload it. You can also try deleting it and downloading it again.
You have to remember that the Egyptians believed that Shepherds were the lowest of the low. They were the unspeakables. Suddenly Moses was nothing, had nothing and was invisible to all Egyptians.
Hi this is Felicia Miles Bless me with some Food and some money 💰. I hope I can move back home 🏘️ soon .
❤️
David…. I’m surprised you didn’t catch the Moana reference with Púa
I'm no expert but I think snakes are 90% neck so...
What about the"ark" of the covenant?
The beginning of this video, you two keep speaking over each other. It feels negative.
Once you start the lesson, it gets better.
