Bitcoin is different than anything else. It's a new 'asset class'. We don't really know what it's going to happen but right now, it's going up again. Probably its price will rise even more this year due to halving.
Well, it’s a subjective state as to what a bubble actually is until it becomes known that most people are simply following others in their expectations, not knowing the ‘hows’ of the deal. And this emotion reinforces itself raising expectations whilst self-sufficiently supplying evidence to justify what is otherwise unjustifiable. It’s a consequence of bounded rationality mixed with craziness.
In China, real estate is definitely a fragile but gigantic bubble because everyone is crazy about it. But the government go all out to protect the bubble from being broken, because it somehow is the column of our economy
One of the biggest and devastating bubble right now is financial system of the World. Banks, corruption in Governments, their monetary policies, creates long term bubble, which burst every 10-15 years with financial crisis. People getting poorer and poorer each year, by inflation of the currencies.
Right now, I believe there’s a bubble going on with classic cars. It’s downfall is coming from the number of older car owners (boomers) who have rode the wave of inflating the prices for so long. Now they’re getting older, and cannot enjoy their cars or downsizing. Their kids don’t want or can’t afford to keep them and the cars are flooding the market. Younger buyers either don’t have the money to pay the inflated prices or have no desire to since younger people aren’t willing to pay for “nostalgia” like the current owners have. In my opinion, this will result into a bubble.
So do I get this correctly: 1. There is a high demand for houses but few houses. 2. Rich people see this and buy houses or construct them and sell them for a high price. 3. People can't afford houses and moves into apartments. 4. People want to get rid of their worthless houses and starts selling them maybe for even less than what they bought them for. Making them lose money and if they've invested a lot into houses they might go bankrupt. How exactly does this become an economic crisis?
If you’re referring to how the Great Recession happened, then this isn’t it. It was caused connected with mortgage securities and subprime mortgages. Basically the banks were giving out mortgages to anyone and everyone who wanted a house because they were packaging these mortgages up and selling them to investors removing themselves from the risk of not getting their money back. The housing prices went up because of everyone is buying a house and theirs limited supply the prices are gonna go up. They then couldn’t afford their houses so they defaulted. The investors when originally buying the mortgage had the idea they were still safe since if they buyer defaults they still get to own the house and could sell that to make their money. Well when a bunch of houses are coming on the market because everyone is defaulting then you have a surplus of supply and little demand thus making the prices of houses upside down. Bought for some high amount but can’t sell it for nearly that cost
I look at the housing crisis in California, pos housing has reached 1 million..why? Even apartments housing is going crazy for demand. Eventually people will wise up.
We are in the largest bubble of all time. It may last for decades more or it could have peeks on the spx last week. Place your bets and take a ride on the wheel!

I think that its passed its crash. It is in the phase after a crash where it finds its resting value. However this is just an opinion based on the examples set by other stocks & markets.

Informative! I remember the "Hostess Twinkie" bubble.
The intro would have been better if you used a bubble instead of a flower. Use a bubble blower, ask "so what is a bubble?" and then pop it.

Tesla stock is a buble, just take a look at the graphs of stock price the last 5 years. It went from an average of 300$ per share to 1500$ in 1 year!
But do you take account of its actual/supposed price per share?
Company grows. And sometimes it's worth less than its stocks.
A bubble requires an exciting new product or technology - and tulips represented a new product or technology??
