it's a supergroup . If you grew up in the northwest NJ and PA area , these guys were playing in all different bands for many years , and man , this is great to see. long story , i could keep going,
These boys are always fire, there shows are high energy and fantastic. Can’t wait to see them tonight in Winchester,Va
Great song I never heard before.
i was one of the guys that filmed this! such a great experience!
Haha, that's me jamming out at 4:29! What a trip!
I was extremely fortunate enough to go with my mother (and about 45 other people in our group) to the Golden Spike Sesquicentennial last year, though I'd never heard of this song until now. I must confess that in addition to being a full-fledged railroad nut, I also have a deep fascination for the Transcontinental Railroad, with a number of books and pamphlets on the subject (as well as a 19-page paper I wrote about it in college),, a replica poster, photographs, T-Shirt, two replica Golden Spikes, and HO scale models of the locomotives.
Got the Utah/AZ tickets for April 2019! And this years Hangtown is a go as well for my 5th time. Love this band. I see em in Portland, Ore. a lot. We love them in Portland.....and they love us!-)
I think you got it back-asswards. The Jupiter traveled EAST and 119 traveled WEST.
Not sure how this video doesn't have more views! So awesome! Thank you.
i cant stop listening to this, great great tune!
My newest favorite song by you guys--right behind Mighty River & 'Railroad Earth'. Haha.
My best friend introduced me to your music in February of this year and now I can't wait to finally see you guys live in September at the Bijou in Knoxville, TN. Thanks for making such wonderful music!
Love this song so much and your video is amazing! Thank You!
Great song, great recording. Definitely the foot-stompingest track on the most recent album.
1400 camera angles is awesome!
Not only a train song for the hobos, but an epic one to boot!
Haha, they have it backwards! The 119 is from the Union Pacific, the company that built westwards towards the setting sun. The Jupiter is from the Central Pacific, the railroad that crossed the Sierra Nevada.
Sorry man, but You got it backwards. I looked it up just now. The Jupiter headed west...etc....
The Jupiter was from the Central Pacific Railroad based in Sacramento. The 119 was from the Union Pacific based in Omaha. The line between east and west did not exist until these locomotives met in Promontory, Utah on May 10, 1869.
It's so sad and unfortunate that a song/video as beautiful and elaborate as this only has a couple thousand views. When you take a look at what's getting a million plus views, it's pretty pathetic..lol
indeed, this song should have more.
pretty sad , people are not liking real music.
Railroad is still in the process of a growing fan base, even after over 15 years. There's no radio play or t.v. appearances. If someone like Late Show with Stephen Colbert put them on and they played this it prob would be an instant hit.
It's sad this project was never released. It's a year, this week, since it was filmed, after all!
:)
