Meet Shamika! She has struggled with weight all her life, but especially after giving birth to her daughter. Amid health complications, reduced motivation, and a global pandemic that worsened her fitness habits, Shamika lost confidence that the weight could ever disappear. But, no more. Portia invites Shamika to the table to take on her new fitness challenge and say goodbye to the weight once and for all this year.

I so relate to some of Shamika’s story. I been battling with my weight and depression since the lost of my father in 2000. I went through therapy and during that time I was able to lose some weight and I regained weight and some additional weight. I tried to rebound to loosing weight again and I was during good taking it off slowly and then another family member died. This time I was left to figure out the future of two young children. One was 10 months and the oldest was 14.
I begin to focus more on the children and less on myself.😢. I ended up gaining more than and battling depression, stress and emotionally eating every day. Ended up being a diabetic, on top of everything else I was dealing with.
I continue to battle with weight loss but I’m going at a slower pace.Taking it one day at a time.❤ I commence you Shamika and I’m rooting for you. Keep going you on the right path to achieving your health and wellness goals.🙏🏽
