I don't know about their use in a big band.. But, the burst was a demo unit. It was shipped back and forth between the factory and several different reps. You could say it was used to sell L-5's. Personally, I think they are best suited for vocal accompaniment and the studio, because they each have a wonderful mellow articulation.

I like that idea. I am so accustomed to hearing amped guitar performances, it didn't occur to me how well these would sound purely acoustically.
