How's she goin'? Wow that was a close call with the tire eh!! You were probably smart to have all the tires replaced like you did. Just for the peace of mind if nothing else eh!! How about that buddy on the road too, offering to help you fix the blow out. Another reason to believe in the goodness of mankind!! It's amazing too all the rules and regs that we are exposed to when we do things 'slightly out of the ordinary' !! Those officials from the transport department could have really made your trip miserable but I think they saw you were trying to do the right thing and decided to help you rather than hold you back. There are good people in these jobs for sure!! All the best to you folks for the rest of your journey. I hope it goes smoothly for ya!! Take 'er easy!!
It was such a close call - so many things coming together at the right time... We felt very blessed, it could have been so much worse all in all! You are wonderful to be so supportive Grampie, we love your comments... We always look forward to your content too. Hugs for Grannie! Thank you so much!
In addition to running heavy earth moving equipment I had my own tractor-trailer to haul logs I had cleared to the sawmills. It didn't take long to discover that running 70 MPH with an 80.000 pound rig created more friction on my trailer tires and caused them to overheat and blow out. However, when I kept my speed down to 55 there was never any problem. So, the answer was to drive at minimal speed when loaded and 70 on the return trip when empty. I had a few other vocations under my belt so I would always find work.
Wow! That blown tyre was hairy. Glad it wasn't worse. How amazing your journey has been so far, with so many beautiful people helping along the way 💖💖💖
You're going to add more weight to an already overbearing trailer load? Wow! My chest is still pounding from the stress of the last video & this one. Although, watching the bear munching on berries gave it some relief. lolol. On to the next video. I pray that things go much smoother now.
I love Tim Hortons by they closed the one near me ☹️. Hey a black bear, love it! They are so cute!!! I'm so glad that man offered help with your blown tire.
Oh my goodness!! What a blessing that was to happen. So nice of that gentleman to stop and offer help!!🙏 so glad y'all were able to get the tire fixed.. I'm binge watching your videos 😊!!
It really was a full-out miracle in our minds... we blew that tire exactly as we drove through a near ghost town... nothing open, no stores to speak of and over two hours away from our next stop. We were sooo grateful!
We had a Tim Horton's in the town where I live in Arkansas and it was in business for maybe a year before it closed. It was not good food, IMO, but then I didn't see any bakery products there either.
Yes, while travelling we have tried the US version of Tim Horton's and we typically drive away disappointed. It's a Canadian cultural thing... Tim's enjoys a ubiquitous presence here and historically has done a really terrific job. Too bad it didn't catch on in the USA. -Ryan
Well 6 new tires and that one blow out then free pressure washing that is what I am thinking of it !!! We always took our boats through a car wash set up from 1 lake to another same with reels and lures from 1 lake to another !!!
My goodness!! That was really responsible to wash them between lakes too - we just never know and we'd never forgive ourselves if something bad happened in our lake. Thankfully everything came out great - so good to take precautions though!
I have heard of the Tragically Hip but don’t think I am familiar with their music… I LOVE Tim Hortons!!!! Especially their Chili meal deal, it is so good…especially if you don’t like a lot of heat or spice in your chilies. I almost live on their hot chocolate and doughnuts, my favorite is the ‘sprinkle doughnut’ and the cinnamon roll. The Tim bits are also good for a quick snack too.
@@mywildholm - definitely! Starbucks isn’t bad but I prefer Tim’s much better, at least food wise. The only drinks I get while at Tim’s is their hot chocolate or fruit juice, sometimes a milk if I haven’t had my quota for the day. I also noticed that you like carnations hot chocolate, a good second choice if I can’t get to Tim’s.
@NadesikoRose oh yes... we do that too. I love the iced chai tea latte with pumpkin spice cold foam at Starbucks (and a chocolate brownie)... Tim's is a lot more common... 😋 A little variety is okay though!
Ive had blown tires on same type trailer,it's easier to drive trailer on block's on side of trailer with flat and other axle justs lifts in Air makes it so you don't need a jack. Ive done this many times as I was hotshot driver with 40 ft gooseneck trailer.
Hey there! Ryan just said 'That's a great idea!... it never occurred to me!' Thank you so much for the intel... great to hear from you! Lots more to come 💚
Hello Folks. Too bad about the blowout. It could have been really bad. The Tragically Hip is likely one of the most famous bands to ever come out of Canada. They came from Kingston (a city just south of me) Unfortunately Gord Downie passed away a few years back. They were Canadian rock icons. This turned into an interesting trip. Those weigh-scale guys were pretty cool. Tim Hortons is a Canadian icon too lol. We have some black bears around here but they seem pretty shy. Take care
Hey there!!! I have received a terrific amount of schooling since this episode came out! You are so right!!! I mean where have I been?? The Tragically Hip rule (I've done some research) 😆 Are you from Canada too?? Yay!!! Thanks for your post and thanks for watching!! More to come on Thursday!
If they had D rated tires on that trailer, that's a big mistake. At minimum they should be G rated. Low airpressure and not enough rating is a recipe for blown tires. Same thing happened to me when I used to haul with a light trailer like that across the country. After first trip of heavy loads and underrated tires that kept blowing, I switched all to higher rating. Also get a laser thermometer to periodically stop and check tire Temps. Overheated tires will fail quickly.
Hey thanks for the tutelage! I appreciate it very much. You'll be happy to know that after blowing the two tires, I swapped them all out for G-rated and have never had a problem since. I really like the idea of using a laser thermometer to check tire temps. I'll do that... thanks so much!
We were so relieved to have it turn out so well... It was looking sketchy for a bit there. Do you mean tour of the island? We have a lot of content still coming 😊

No way. This truck is a beast! It can haul loads heavier than this. An appropriate and fantastic investment for this adventure! Thank you for watching! 🛻 💚
Next time put the jack under the axle. Safer, faster, and let the garage owner do it. Also let the garage sell you a tire. You’re going to need that spare.
Correct you are... That is why we blocked it up so as not to rely on the hydraulics of the pallet jack. We were not equipped for the lift, and had to improvise. We were very grateful for the assistance. Thank you for watching! -Ryan
OMG 😲 😱 ! This video of Ryan planting his feet under that trailer while changing the tire made my anxiety go throughout the roof ! Please please PLEASE don't ever risk your life like that again . That is just completely reckless my friend . And since we're on the subject of tire changing, invest in a good breaker-bar for your lug nut wrench, it will save your back immensely. And one more tip . If the axle is too low & you can't get the tire on , let the tire pressure out of the tire , as opposed to raising the whole trailer . Attach all the lug nuts , PRIOR to lowering the weight of the trailer onto the deflated tire . Re-inflate the tire to desired pressure. Then its safe to lower the trailer . If you lower it prior , you'll pop the seal on the tire and it won't hold air . Please be careful in the future folks . So SOOOO many things can go horribly wrong if you don't practice safety first . Looking forward to the next episode 😀. 😊😊😊

Wow! You have a wide skillset range. I agree that it's best to keep the speed down to a safe level for sure. Always better to be safe than sorry. 😃
What an adventure!
It's wonderful!!
Wow, nerve-racking is understatement. I’m binge watching all the videos from the beginning.
Oh wow!! Thank you so much my friend! 💚
Wow! That blown tyre was hairy.
Glad it wasn't worse.

We've just felt so blessed along the way!! Thank you for your support!
That actually gave me flashbacks of blowing tires on my trailer in BC as I was traveling down from Alaska
😂 Oh dear! Not you too! You had more than one? We'd love to go to Alaska!
Well, this has been a trip filled with surprises. Looking forward to watching more tomorrow.
It's so great to have you along for the ride! The surprises just keep coming 😆 Thank you so much for your support 💜

Good point! We just have to remember that!! 💚Thank you so much for watching fellow Canadian!

We felt so incredibly fortunate!! Very grateful. Oh yes... Being from Canada, Tim's is kind of a staple around here 😆
So scary to have a blown tire!! Sorry you had to go through all that hassle with permits!!
Thank you for watching Shari!! 💚 Quite a bit of process we didn't realize existed - but in the end so glad we got it all sorted.
Wow God is good. And good gets good in return ❤ oh my. I’ve never heard of having to decontaminate a boat. 😮
Oh yes He is! We had to be so careful with it all - wouldn't want to get our pristine lake in any trouble. Grateful we got out of this predicament!
You've been blessed over & over again through this barge expirience.. just beautiful!!! 🥰
Oh we truly have been! It really just gets better (and worse at times 😆 🤣). Thank you for following our journey!
friiend~ Good morning-very nice picture. catch you later!✋

We are so glad that you've joined us for this whole fun journey! It honestly does make it even more fun for us... 👐
Oh my word! I can’t believe you were able to find help like that in such a small town! What a blessing!!!
It really was a gift like you wouldn't believe...we truly thought we were in big trouble 🍞 so grateful for his help!
Oh my goodness, never heard of decontamination stuff! Crazy!! Very interesting. Understandable! Opal is so cute❤❤ oh my a bear! 31:00 31:00 31:00
We really hadn't either! Thank goodness it was completely clean but we still felt it was best to take every precaution possible ⭐
Another wonderful day of the life of Wild Holm ❤Still catching up on the videos ❤
Aww, you're so great! We love bringing you along for the adventure Diana! Thank you for watching! 💜
It just goes to show, God is good. He's guiding you safely on your journeys.
You are so right. We are grateful each and every day! Thank you for watching! 💚
Wow! Amazing how it worked out with the blown tire, despite being two hours away from Thunder Bay! Awesome footage of the black bear as well.

It wasn’t a jack, it was a skid loader
That's not a jack it's pallet fork for moving pallets of product around a warehouse. It is not rated nor meant to be used as a jack.
Correct you are... That is why we blocked it up so as not to rely on the hydraulics of the pallet jack. We were not equipped for the lift, and had to improvise. We were very grateful for the assistance. Thank you for watching! -Ryan
