The next morning we wake up at Kalgan Pool and truly realise how epic the surrounding area is as we drove in during the dark. After some R&R we hit the tracks and head for the highest point in W.A. Mt Meharry.

It appears that the number one requirement for traveling with Ronny is lights since you will always get to your campsite after dark. Haha. Another great video.

The opening shots were stunning and really show why I love the Pilbara so much. It might not be as outwardly spectacular as the Kimberley but there are so many hidden treasures. Yet another wonderful production. There are so many people who may never get the chance to see these places. Thank you for showing them off so well. I do feel sorry for you being on a strict time-table and not being able to just veg-out and really get to know some of the amazing places you visit. I hope you will get the chance to do that one day.

Stellar opening shot. The reveal of the topography, the awe and eventual realization of how small we humans really are in the face of nature and time; the very reason we take these adventures, all in one shot.

Was only just looking back at photos of my family and I at Kalgan pools such a wicked spot, envious you got to stay the night. Its no wonder you don't get to your next stop till dark with all the camera footage you collect and no film crew following you around. But I appreciate the hard work that you all put in to deliver such awesome videos. At least we get to see WA through "YOUR" eyes. Still longing to get back over and explore a bit more , WA is by far my favourite state to visit. Thanks again for the Vid Ronny and crew......Matt

Stunning video. A minor point, the coffee grinder at 6:56 is actually called a Porlex Mini and isn't a Snow Peak product. It's an amazingly high quality ceramic burr grinder (made in Japan) and fits perfectly inside an Aeropress. I don't sell them or anything, I'm just a big fan.

There was a guy at our monthly Land Cruiser meeting this past Friday (Phoenix, AZ), thought he said he was from Perth, though I could be wrong. Drove a 100 series. Loved seeing the 80 series in this vid and I commented directly below to Harry, probably because I have a '97 Lexus LX450. It has taken a bit of a back seat to my new RAM Power Wagon however. (Which I would love to bring on a trip with you guys down there, impossible I know, but still would be interesting) Great night time lapses Ronny! Hasta from AZ, and I'm at 2133.6 meters right now. ;-)

If it can't be fixed with a hammer, it's an electrical problem.
We shared tools this trip so all I took with me was a few spare parts and about 6 very basic tools (screw drivers, pliers, snips and a shifter) and my big hammer. Leaving that thing at home is like leaving a child behind for me.

How hard would you rate this at for a 1HZ 94 troopy with an averagely experienced offroad driver? (for example the gibb river road was boringly easy and so was the oodndatta for me, also done palm valley slowly but i dont seek out trouble)
I'm slow n steady wins the race, I kind of suck at sand and only the one river bank climb in your first ep for Pilbara looked a little scary to me (I wouldn't be driving at night though) -- only ask coz I might not have more than my own vehicle when I go in, ill be rekying on a gumtree post for company which might be hit or miss. Got most the supplies I need. Might get a rear winch. Anything else I should know before I get myself killed? hahaa Cheers mate. One of the best vids by the way!

Yeah mate, I brought my saw (Stihl 038 Magnum - probably a bit big for camping). Ronny has a battery one which is good for lighter firewood duties at camp - it is nice and quiet but not comparable to a proper 2-stoke saw for collecting a bigger load of wood.
