i like the lyric " I am a money lender.....Take my hand for tender". Very clever pun.
Tendor, dear. “Tendor”
@@rodddossantos1437 "Tender" as in offered money-not the drug "tendor" which makes no sense in the song's context.
Probably_Talon My bad. You are correct. My misspelling for ever! What’s a drug “tendor” though? Never heard of it.
@@rodddossantos1437 yes, you have it completely out of context, but that's fine too Noun. tendor m (genitive tendōris); third declension. stretching, straining, tension.
A beautiful song - you don't have to be living it to appreciate.
My favorite lines from the song,
"And I am a writer, writer of fictions
I am the heart that you call home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones"
Oh do I know what that feels like.
"And if you don't love me let me go"
Wish it were that simple huh?
So will be my grandson
There are powerlines in our bloodlines.
This line speaks to my family.
La Roue (1923), directed by Abel Gance.
It's just magnificent x
Im still writing...trying to rid her from My bones.
starting in twenty ten I have horrible images of a pot with shit a coin and food remenenants my family being hurt and other bot so nice thing....sometimes free porn.....hell can't be much worse.....
"The Engine Driver"
I'm an engine driver
On a long run, on a long run
Would I work beside her
She's a long one, such a long one
And if you don't love me let me go
And if you don't love me let me go
I'm a country lineman
On a high line, on a high line
So will be my grandson
There are powerlines in our bloodlines
And if you don't love me let me go
And if you don't love me let me go
And I am a writer, writer of fictions
I am the heart that you call home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones
My bones
My bones
I'm a money lender
I have fortunes upon fortunes
Take my hand for tender
I am tortured, ever tortured
And if you don't love me let me go
And if you don't love me let me go
And I am a writer, writer of fictions
I am the heart that you call home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones
I am a writer, I am all that you have home
Home
And I've written pages upon pages
Trying to rid you from my bones
My bones
My bones
(And if you don't love me let me go)
And if you don't love me let me go
(And if you don't love me let me go)
And if you don't love me let me go
My now ex-wife was the one who showed me this band, we used to go for a drive while we were listeng to this album, I do miss her, too bad i realize how much i love her a bit too late.
Never too late mate
@@db8erfreakSometimes, it really is.
I want to exist in the tiny, sinewy tendon in Colin Meloy's heart
This song is brilliance. Easily one of Decemberists' best songs. Why so few views?
My friend was an engine driver he let me know. .....
🔸There are powerlines in our bloodlines 🔸
this was the first song i ever heard of theirs i was 14 and absolutely sold 🥰🥰😍😍
"I have four chins..."
This song changed me
If they don't love me, why won't they just let me go?
there is an essence of diddles organ from legend of mana that brings potent nostalgic bliss...
Miss not saying anything just having an inside laugh to myself about how free everyone was but some one had to give me schizophrenia god demon man women who knows at least decking me in face I could see my accuser's
Hemingway?
I'm not asking, "What do you need?", but you can announce it in words.
This song got me through such a hard time in my life.
I love this song.
Me too
They all want me, but don't love me, they won't let me go
So beautiful. I'm a banker (money-lender), get shivers when that bit comes up.
Matthew Balfour Are you a money lender too?
I was introduced to this song by a young woman who heard in it her feelings for another man. In time, I would come to hear in those same notes, perhaps underservedly, my feelings for her. We drivers of engines, our tracks are winding ones. They join and fork and join again in an inscrutable labyrinth guided by inexorable switchmen: our triumphs and tragedies, our gambles and resignations, virtues and vices, neuroses, certainties, hesitations, mistakes, miscalculations, and indeed every descision, temperment, or proclivity we ever adopt. But the engine drives ever onward, perchance to never cross those same tracks again. Unlike the inertial mass of coal and steel that is the present, the past is a fragile thing indeed, and yet so difficult to truly scour away completely. And perhaps that is for the best. There is a bittersweetness in retracing the worn and weary lines of pleasant memories long faded.
Wow....this is better than the song, actually. Beautiful.
My wizened and jaded stance tells me to be wary of overly romanticizing these sorts of songs, if you relate to the time period this is someone who needs something to cling to, without our modern conveniences and down in the dregs, which I am not
@@patcooper793I miss the days of romantic pining love, but still I am jaded in that I would never love for the lust alone, it would be practical. But I do know men like the speaker of the song in the modern day. These songs are my new crush songs for my 30s, they balance out the ignorance of the honey moon stage and prepare me for what is likely to happen.
You might like this vid I made for engine driver, to have written such a poetic comment figured maybe you would appreciate it, just a hunch, its probably that fourth most recent on my channel, basically just my family watches, but once in a blue moon i randomly share on Internet hope you don't mind
Slap yourself.
I am a writer of fiction
I'm listening to a song that's essentially instructions and figuring that I need to let her go. Problem is that I think I love her.
Did you go for it or let her go?
The depth of that song has moved me to the point of tears. On a day dedicated to meditation, I managed to connect with my essence, sometimes elusive. Amidst life's complexities, we build shells that make us forget those seemingly simpler days. However, I've learned that sometimes all it takes is to breathe and focus on the present.
I shared this song today with a friend because its melody not only symbolizes my adolescence but also triggers a cascade of memories in my mind and heart.
2024!
This is just VIBES so good oml
got tickets to see them in july i'm GONNA CRY THE WHOLE TIME
Good timez interesting internet robot LOL
Is this about Electro from Spiderman? "Powerlines in my blood lines"
For me the song brings back memories of an overpowering heroin and now fentynal addiction that cost me the love of my life. She stayed around longer than most would but finally moved back to her hometown and got married to tattoo artist. I still play it sometimes when I realize that all is well and where it should by in my mothafuckin kingdom nowadays yo
Jim Knopf und Lukas, der Lokomotivführer.
Resonates for sure. Been a Decemberists Easter day.
One of their better songs, this one....... if not the top one next to "Oooh oooh oh oooh ooh". Ya'll know it! :P
