- This mod allows you to (kinda) play the whole of Super Mario 3D Land in 1st person. The 1st person is quite hacky but I have tried my best to make as "First Persony" as possible.

Notes:
The mod is not compatible on console.
All the bosses still have normal camera otherwise the game will softlock/crash
I have tested every level but there may be certain areas where the camera may stop working. If this happens, I will update the mod once I know of this mistake.

honestly this is probably the best you can get with making mario games like these first person instead of just attaching the camera to mario, and make him invisible except hands.

It's not a Super Mario Galaxy game if it's not set in space nor has changes in gravity.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to, it’d just be a challenge is all.
To be fair the 3DS does have gyro (which they used for Face Raiders) so maybe it's not impossible, just have to map gyro to the camera and then VR (maybe Idk)
@@caldercockatoo2234 well, the same could be said of pretty much any coding project. when i said "VR", i meant, like... yknow! you can maybe use your hands to reach out and grab a coin or something. all while having enemy and object behaviors intact and stuff. i feel like the 3DS and this game's code or whatever is likely not easily compatible with turning into a sort of walking simulator. but i also don't know anything about anything, so who knows!

This is an extremely clever way of doing it! It actually looks like first person and doesn't make me motion sick - props!

Wow this looks really different, in a good way
It is so bizarre how the original 3DS game didn't let you immerse yourself in the world in 3D, when every other 3D Mario game in that point had a first person, or over the shoulder view at that point. This was the console where they wanted to immerse you more than ever before in 3D, but this element felt like it was missing oddly from this game.

it would be cool if there was a mod that made it so it plays like every other main Mario 3d game. like odyssey or n64, where the camera is always behind him, and less like a 2d platformer

I mean, the actual game's post game content (after finishing it once) always crashes on Citra android, not sure about PC
