It sets itself out as a luxury item / indulgent. If you want to make hot chocolate in a pan with a whisk do so. If you want to buy it as a gift for a hot chocolate lover do so. It's easy really, doesn't need all the negativity in the comments section.

  • @tobym5

Great little unit, well made and simple. The key is its quick and consistent and very easy to clean. You don't need washing up liquid as in the vid, its a non stick surface. Just make your hot chocolate then fill the vessel with water from the tap, rinse off the spinner and wipe out the vessel with a cloth. It might seem expensive but it does take away the faff and mess of boiled over milk/chocolate in the microwave, pan etc, less washing up, the right temp etc.

Lots of people dismissing this as a milk frother for twice/three times the price. The simple fact of the matter is that this isn't the case. A milk frother doesn't do the same job and certainly doesn't make hot choclate that is as nice to drink as this.

To be honest, now that I've seen you do it this way (obviously the right way) it doesn't look as high-end as you'd think it might be, as they advertise it on TV. It's just basically milk and hot chocolate heated up.. that you could do in a microwave, kettle or on the stove. I think it's quite expensive for something that does the same job?! 🤔

    • @ReviewitCoReviews
      @ReviewitCoReviews  4 роки тому +11

Yes, it is on the expensive side for what it is. I have to admit to using it very frequently now, especially at this time of year. It is definitely better than heating up in microwave etc because the main thing that it does is give you a well-mixed whisked up frothy version. The central spinning whisking thing is what makes that happen.

In this thing it comes out so thick and gorgeous, like posh hotels serve (and WAY better than the crap Costa and Starbucks serve.👍)
We are big hot choc fans
This is SO much more luxurious than my Cadbury’s in hot milk version.
      And actually quicker.

Did you find that part wrong and the way you did it to be better? only where you say about not over filling, filling 1st then adding the whisk would push over the max fill line. To be fair, adding chocolate mixture last would also do the same but perhaps not as much lol don't see the point in a whisk though that doesn't spin like a normal whisk does that creates air bubbles in a mixture. So again unsure how this whisk works it's magic? I'll try it and see.......

Having now used this regularly, although immediate cleaning is recommended, it's not essential. However, I have found that it's so easy to do that you might as well.
      Here is what I do:
      1) After pouring out the hot chocolate into a mug, rinse out the velvetiser remains with cold water then pour it down the sink.
      2) Fill the velvetiser with cold water up to the 'max' line (as if you were making another hot chocolate) and add a drop of dishwashing liquid.
      3) Run it again with the water and liquid inside (replace lid as well) which gives it a good clean.
      4) When it's finished running, (by which time I have already had a few sips of hot choc), it should be clean. Then I just pour it away and either let it air dry upside-down on a tea towel or wipe it dry.
      Hope it helps

Eddie, you don’t have to clean it before drinking the hot chocolate. That’s just how it was done in the video.

Microwave cup of milk and use an IKEA £1 whisk. Just as fast and even easier to clean. Sorted.

@@the0whilest0man Try to have a thought of your own. If you're not parroting some nonsense you read online about hot chocolate, you just parrot people who point out your BS. It' s just a youtube review you were commenting on - all I'm doing is acting as a mirror for you to see what a bellend you are. There's also this by the way:
"Results from the meta-analysis of eight additional studies showed higher chocolate consumption was linked with lower risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and death from cardiovascular disease. Two studies showed cardiovascular events were not statistically linked with chocolate consumption."

There are children starving in Africa and you've spent £99 on a machine like that. Just use a whisk?!

It's a review of the product for people who are interested in how it works and the results of the hot chocolate it makes. Using a whisk and heating the milk yourself is can be your alternative if you want to do things manually. I promise that I won't judge you for doing it that way.

How does someone buying a machine for £99 have any bearing on ‘children starving in Africa’. The two things are mutually exclusive.

I used to think that,id feel bad about the luxuries we have and think of people who have nothing at all,but then i came to the understanding that if we think about the poor folk every time we want to treat ourselves we will go through life not doing anything nice for ourselves through guilt. For me,i like to think i give in charity and as long as i am not always excessive in my spending then a little treat now and again is harmless.
