    What I eat in a day on days that I go to therapy is all about making sure I don't eat emotionally. Learning how to stop eating emotionally took time but you'll see that my breakfast is my secret weapon to what I ate today before and after therapy.

    SNACK
    Honeycrisp apple & peanut butter

    I don't usually comment. I think that eating intuitively is okay. You should eat only when you are hungry. You seem to be doing well. Some people have problems with that. Babies start out crying for food when they are hungry and push the bottle away when they are full. I'm an emotional eater also. I wish I had more control. Believe me, your body will give you signs if it's not happy.

    I find that if I don’t have a full stomach when I go to therapy, I tend to want to eat “junk food” afterwards because of the comfort it gives me. Therapy is an emotional release for me so in the past, I have run to food for comfort instead of sitting and feeling my emotions. Great video!

    Phil Knights book Show Dog has been one of my favorite books these past three months. Am an avid bibliophile. I always begin the say with a salad and eat very simple and like you I love water. I also like that you take smaller bites and actually chew your food which I found when I lost eight pounds, allowed my body to get all the nutrients from the food, as well as signal when my stomach was full.

    I recommend using a filter such as "ZeroWater" instead of Brita to reduce fluoride. Drinking over a gallon of water a day means ingesting a large amount of fluoride. Chicago's water has 1.1 ppm. We already absorb 25% of the F that gets into our body through our skin from wearing clothes washed in public tap water. THEN there is the amount we breathe and absorb in the shower. PLUS the amount in food grown with irrigated public water. PLUS the amount in processed food and drinks because they are all made with tap water. Some people like fluoride toothpaste. It uses silica (fibreglass) to scratch microscopic tears in the gums, allowing F to be absorbed into the bloodstream.

      hey_ jeeta Do you mind if we chat about this? It’s been a concern for many people in the community and I want to understand.
      Can you tell me the significance of my calorie count?
      I have a general understanding of calories but I’ve never counted or considered them critically.
      I eat pretty intuitively and I’m generally more concerned with eating a real piece of food and a solid portion than I am about anything else.
      It I’d love to understand your calorie perspective/concern.
      I truly want to understand. Asking from a place of piece. 💜

    • @jennita1234
      @jennita1234 5 років тому +10

      @@StaceyFlowers of course. Essentially the lowest limit for a healthy amount of calories for an adult woman is 1200.
      This can be dependent on your height and weight but unless you are under 100 pounds and under 5 feet that limit should apply.
      Eating intuitively is great and I love that you eat whole foods as long as you're meeting the lowest requirements most days. It's okay to have an off day but if this is your typical day it can lead to some metabolism and immune system issues.

    • @StaceyFlowers
      @StaceyFlowers  5 років тому +9

      hey_ jeeta What happens if you don’t eat that minimum calories per day? Pretty much what you’ve seen in my other What I Eat In A Day videos is what I truly eat and I haven’t seen any adverse effects in my life. So I’m wondering is it more of a long term problem that shows up later?
      Am I not experiencing because of the type of calories I’m consuming? Like for example if I drank my calories in soda or latte does that count in the 1200 calories?
      Does it matter that I don’t consume sugar everyday?
      Where does this minimum come from? Is it universal or is this an American standard?
      The only reason I don’t want to research this myself is because truly it’s not a problem for me and I don’t want to invest my time and fall down a rabbit hole. However I am really curious and I’m totally open to you or anyone in the community educating me on this topic as it’s been coming for a full year.

      Stacey Flowers Hi Stacey, when I was in college years ago and doing gym workouts as my main form of fitness I used an app called ‘myfitnesspal’.
      When I used it, it integrates my weight height etc for “typical” calorie intake. Then I’d just enter in what I had for each meal (you can scan in barcodes for things like almond milk) and it tells you the calories you’d consumed.
      I haven’t used it in many years but was good at the time

    • @jennita1234
      @jennita1234 5 років тому +11

      @@StaceyFlowers the limit is a standard but how it works is your body burns a certain amount of calories just being alive plus any activity you do. Essentially what happens when you dont eat at least that amount is your body goes into starvation mode and burns fat stores in your body. Your body needs at least 13% body fat to keep your temperature up. If you consistently undereat your body will eat away at your fat stores and eventually your muscles to maintain the energy it needs. This leads to fatigue, digestove issues, loss of menstruation, heart issues etc.
      Again that's an extreme situation but worth keeping an eye on yourself. Emotionally undereating is common too.
