    Just learned of you this morning and love your journey. I'm age 22 and did gymnastics for 14 years--a gymnast not a fighter. BUT I was severely beat up at age 16. I had been in gymnastics for 12 years by that night and was born in Ukraine and raised in very rural USA. I was bullied all my life and had no friends in school. I was shirtless all the time working out at school and got a bad reputation. On a very hot summer night I was alone at school--no one for many miles of our country school. I did lots of pull-ups and muscle ups and hanging leg raises. I was worn out. Then a pickup truck came close and 3 guys came over. I recognized them as on school baseball and football teams. They told me they just wanted to have some fun punching the fuck out of my abs. They put me in a full nelson and took turns throwing very hard punches. I lasted on and off over 30 minutes. I knew I had extremely muscular abs for gymnastics but not for taking punches. I healed up enough and decided to start lifting weights to gain a lot of muscle. That night I was only 5'6" and 145 lbs. I was all muscle and no fat but my legs were underdeveloped. I wanted large legs. Over time though I got fascinated how I took hard punches so well. And some wrestlers loved my ability. And I wanted to keep them as friends. We found MMA fighters and others who trained to take hard punches and I got into training my abs too. Again I'm NOT a fighter but I came to love training my abs aggressively. Part of it was that it gave me a confidence I didn't have before I got beat up. As I was held in a full nelson I felt totally vulnerable with my torso wide open to target. But as I was able to take their punches I had a confidence in me that was new. I don't know what to say but I never got into wanting to fight. I flirted with Shane Fazen's channel back then and tried to see what I could learn. The wrestlers liked teaching me some wrestling and their coach actively recruited me to leave gymnastics (not a school sport) and be in wrestling. I never got into wrestling but kept training with them in the weight room and training abs. I really admire what you are doing. Huge respect. I know how damaging punches can be and hope you are training hard.

    I'm on the same path right now. I don't post but I've been at this for 6 years now. Aspiring to become a Navy Seal, I've been doing a lot of horrible water training for the past year, I've been going to an MMA gym twice a week and training on bag when at home since 2017 currently weigh 172lb 6'1 15 years old, my MMA gym includes the basics like BBJ, kickboxing, boxing and muay thai. If I keep at this I think I could complete the seal week training by like 21-23 years old. Currently not looking at fighting in tournaments, I have done some sketchy street fight things with my buddies.

    hello brother
    Rest that leg, it will probably get worse over the next few days. Before you sprint warm up by just jogging for a little.
    For the fight I think it would be good if your training was centered around being aggressive. Try being the one in control of the fight and keep throwing that jab when you can. You should learn a lot from trying that and then you can incorporate those skills when you're trying something else like defensive or counter style
    Nice work

    Is it a good idea to start going to a martial arts practice and try to become pro? I wan't to find a purpose with life but i feel like a normal career seems bland to me. What's the point of being good at something if you can get knocked out by some fighter. Is pursuing professional fighting worth all the brain damage?

    • @abcd.-.
      @abcd.-. Місяць тому

      it doesnt matter the career you choose, you cant get knocked out if you have a gun, or anything like that, or you could get rich or famous and have body guards to defend you, getting knocked out makes you lose the meaning of any career??? also if you have some type of weapon and know basic stuff you can literally kill the "fighter". "if you can get knocked out by some fighter" does not make any sense

    • @andepizza793
      @andepizza793 Місяць тому +1

      @@abcd.-. No it's just that I am lost. I don't know what career is best for me and I am learning about fighting and if that's worth it. Right now I am not really sure if I want to fight professionally or not. In all honesty I think that just learning a martial art is enough for me and that becoming pro is not worth it in my situation. Anyways have a great day!

      You have to lift weights, go to a normal gym and get experienced in lifting. Can dabble in bodybuilding exercices and or just go functional strength training.

    I watched some of your footage, you have a good physique and are in good physical shape (idk about your stamina) but you really need to fix your technique. Quit focusing on muscle training now and slow down your shadowboxing. Your only going to develop bad habits over time if you continue to practice with wrong technique. First, work only your punches and movement. Look at how you move and your weight transfer and compare it to pro boxers. You will notice a major difference. Perfect your punches, then move to kicks, and eventually to knees and elbows.

    Youre gonna get mogged by a random muslim fighter and everyone will forget about u, at best. At worst u stay at the lowest level forever because u lack physical and mental talent for the sport. Keep it up bro. Its worth it to atleast finesse youtube which is ur true goal, even you yourself must realise you will never be champion.
