Having customers isn't a priority when you have gain alternative income sources elsewhere. Why do you think companies ignore the customers' feedback in current day? It's because they are being INCENTIVIZED into doing so - in the event of not being able to make quality products, it can simply make terrible products and make its challenges regarding distribution or profitability someone else's headache (or as we've seen in the last 2-3 years, straight up deceive people about the products).
Disney owns ABC, and no matter one's feelings on the media, ABC News has an expansive news operation. Most media outlets had an idea by December 2019 that something was seriously wrong in China and people were getting sick. Public reporting is one thing, but I believe ABC News gave Igar, as chairman of the company, an extremely detailed report of the initial CoVid pandemic and where it would spread to. Igar is a businessman with at least some sense, he def. saw the tidal wave coming, got spooked, and pushed through Chapek to keep his job if CoVid went long and bad.
The only reason Iger put Chapek in charge was so he had someone to blame when everything went to shit. He needed a patsy. He could see how things were going to fall apart and he needed someone that when it happened, everyone could point the finger at and say it’s all your fault. The problem Iger had was that Chapek did too good of a job and he started to actually right the ship and Iger didn’t like that because he couldn’t swoop in and make himself look like the hero. He was trying to position himself as invaluable. Problem was that everyone already knows just how worthless Iger is. He would have been fired if he didn’t stack the deck in his favor. He made it do that He had complete power and not a single person would ever defy him on anything. Iger set himself up to be king of the magic kingdom.
Poor Walt Disney. Borrowing from my favorite UA-camr. If he was alive today he would probably ascend a Bell Tower and rain righteous judgement down on the company.

Ask the question; How did Bob meet all those on the board of Disney? What do those members have to do with the Democratic party, and how does their ideology all agree and why? A very good episode of Midnight's Edge Keep up the good work.
And probably continue for months afterwards. They're already the living embodiment of the "This is fine" meme. The bigger question is when Iger and his stooges try to flee the country.
Walt Disney is turning in his grave shouting (but nobody listening): "What's wrong with you people? It isn't that hard to make children (and their parents) Happy and Joyful".
I probably would not care about all this boardroom wrangling and BS if they produced content in live with Walt Disney's original vision. But they don't. So the company IS DEAD Therefore it is irrelevant what they do as the will soon find out as more and more people cease to watch their stuff
Just as the name Walt Disney always stands for a wonderful dream world that we all love, the name Bob Iger stands for the destruction of this very dream world. Thanks Bob, you did a great job.
The worst things you can accuse the latter two of, is bad creative decisions. The first one, though, is the one that has to take the ultimate responsibility as the person who is in charge of internal matters. So, the worst that can happen is the other two get fired, which probably won't happen. The big guy in charge, he's got to be WAY more careful about where he steps, because the business risk for him is bigger than anyone else in the company.
Companies spent 100 million dollars on a TV show....?? 100 million dollars to get YOU to sit and not move for 1 HOUR.........??? Watch all the shows..........LOL
Another legal point, in light of tenet debacle: Was Bob Iger briefed by elements of the CCP before he stepped down of CEO before "the unspecified illness that could not be named" became more internationally known?
I have been saying it for years. Iger wants to tank the stock so he can take the company private. His plan I believe afterwards is to use Disney's huge IP catalogue to train AI and create new content that way. He sees an opportunity to create a new kind of content company and he needs to secure the training data and IP so he can corner the entertainment industry.
The mistake these people make is that very few Americans are 100% supportive of all Democratic causes any more than they entirely Republican. The same thing applies to the Right and Left wing extremes around the world. Most people appreciate some from both ideals; social welfare but not social activism or strong defence policy but no racist or religious chauvinism. Anyone who claims to be 100% a party man is lying and should be immediately distrusted.

Now I recognize them for who they are. Ex Fb and twitter... When tv was putting them over it was a big red.flag. Simply because why would you freely (long before any platform was making money) Give your customers/subscribers/etc to your competition creating and speeding up your own. Demise. Dirty from inception. Problem is it's all so woven together you risk immediate total collapse trying to deal with it. Vs a slow roman esq collapse. Wild how much that comparative history is repeating.
I hate to bring this up, but "institutional investors like Blackrock" being the only ones not beholden to Iger... that company has its own agenda, which has contributed to the recent Disney failures.
I don't feel sorry for Chapek because he made a deal with the Devil, and kept his end of the bargain. He could have spoken up, and he could have fought back, but he chose the easy way out along the path of least resistance; he took the money and ran. He most likely signed a bulletproof NDA which precluded him from giving any more than his name, rank, and serial number to the press, and has therefore remained mute throughout this entire fiasco. No pity for him whatsoever.
A CEO that doesn't want to carry out the job description, and a Board of Directors that also doesn't want to carry out the job description, sound more like a club, a MIckey Mouse Club than a Publicly listed company.
It is funny how right before the last board election Disney had a 'shockingly good quarter' and then the follow up and preceding quarter were 'below expectations' almost as if profits and loses were moved around in the books to held make sure to tip the scales in favor of the current board.
This article has come out, IMO, because it's time for Kamala to take over as President and for her bestie Dana Walden to take over Disney. Regardless of what this does to either the country or to Disney.
Which raises questions as to just how effective ME's and the rest of these Anti-SJW channels have been. This many years on, and Wokeness still maintains a stranglehold over most of our institutions
Weirdly, incompetence doesn’t necessarily get one fired, especially at C Suite levels. Politics, politics, politics. I wish institutional investors were reigned in. Not sure why they like socialism so much…I guess they get richer. And regular investors don’t have enough money and time for high powered lawsuits. Ugh. 😢

Every decade has an Enron. Sometimes we hear about them. I can see 4 or 5 possible Sarbox violations just from this clip. The Iger-Chapek spat over closing the parks after the discussion with Newsom suggests no one really knew who was in charge of what. That might be annoying. But who was signing for what? Who held the instruments of delegation for money, people, planning, approvals, and so on? It looks really loose. That might be executives' preference, but it's not a business model.
Disney's stock price has been falling for years. The stock price has risen only when Bob Chapek was CEO and when Norman Peltz threatened to join Disney's board of directors -- that is, when there was a prospect of reducing Iger's influence within the company.
It’s obvious that it’s the chairmanship that’s keeping Iger from a stint in the stony lonesome. He’s hoping to exit the job Walt Disney style to get out of that.
Retribution? It looks like she was given free reign to do whatever, with no oversight. Revenge for the cancellation of the Acolyte when it was all on her? Having customers isn't a priority when you have gain alternative income sources elsewhere. Why do you think companies ignore the customers' feedback in current day? It's because they are being INCENTIVIZED into doing so - in the event of not being able to make quality products, it can simply make terrible products and make its challenges regarding distribution or profitability someone else's headache (or as we've seen in the last 2-3 years, straight up deceive people about the products).
The wealth and holdings firms.....
Who on this planet despises competition and the making of money? Has Disney been hi-jacked by entities outside of the U.S.?

Great video as always. You are the gold standard of unbiased entertainment reporting.
In classic Disney terms, Iger is Scar. And we have no Simba to return from exile.
Bob Iger et al seem really concerned with our ethnicty.
Maybe we should start paying attention to his?
Food for thought.

Poor Walt Disney. Borrowing from my favorite UA-camr. If he was alive today he would probably ascend a Bell Tower and rain righteous judgement down on the company.
He’s probably turning in his grave so much that they could hook a turbine up to it and generate a lot of electricity.
@@bnhik probably. Kind of ironic the guy they demonize was more creative and innovative than most of the crap generated in the past decade.
He was no saint either. 95% sure, details so long ago I forget
@@Chayliss he wasn’t, I admit this. He wasn’t the racist people like to portray him as, not in the vile sense. He was more like “keep the yard looking nice” sort who would hire black people but didn’t want them seen because I guess he thought it would be a bad look. Also he was likely not the antisemite people like to claim. Mainly because the accusations of that came from the same communist news papers conveniently after he testified in the HUAC and put their proxy thug on blast.
@@Chayliss sort of. He wasn’t the vile racist people like to claim. No one is outright coming for igor, he has surrounded himself with too many ceos, heads of state and powerful banks, he can have a hit on anyone if he asks for it, he is too high in his circle.
Only igor can get rid of himself if he upsets the circle that surrounds him and they decide he needs to disappear

6:33 - The unfortunate truth is that in most companies with a strong CEO, the board is useless
Ask the question; How did Bob meet all those on the board of Disney? What do those members have to do with the Democratic party, and how does their ideology all agree and why?
A very good episode of Midnight's Edge
Keep up the good work.
Disney will keep what they're doing until whomever writes the cheques stops.
It seems as if Bob Iger s deliberately driving Disney into the ground.
The question is, what will it take for the non Blackrock types of shareholders to get angry enough to bring a lawsuit?
If their shares outnumber, and they all unify....
The largest individuals shares are a small fractuon compareitvly
Ubisoft's CEO seems to be having the same problems with Fiduciary Responsibility issues right now!
Best and simplest breakdown of how basic corporate structure works I've ever heard! 😄
Disney must have some pretty dumb shareholders and investors for all this to continue.
The shareholders and the investors have no power. I'd like to invite you to read the book "the populist delusion" by Dr Neema Parvini
I probably would not care about all this boardroom wrangling and BS if they produced content in live with Walt Disney's original vision.
But they don't.
So the company IS DEAD
Therefore it is irrelevant what they do
as the will soon find out as more and more people cease to watch their stuff
Just as the name Walt Disney always stands for a wonderful dream world that we all love, the name Bob Iger stands for the destruction of this very dream world. Thanks Bob, you did a great job.

The worst things you can accuse the latter two of, is bad creative decisions. The first one, though, is the one that has to take the ultimate responsibility as the person who is in charge of internal matters. So, the worst that can happen is the other two get fired, which probably won't happen. The big guy in charge, he's got to be WAY more careful about where he steps, because the business risk for him is bigger than anyone else in the company.

Another legal point, in light of tenet debacle: Was Bob Iger briefed by elements of the CCP before he stepped down of CEO before "the unspecified illness that could not be named" became more internationally known?
Good question.
It's funny now because Bob may have wanted a run at the White House. The House of Mouse is getting it's share of Bob's attention now.
Iger will go down in history as the worst Disney CEO.
Cheated on the debate too ... despicable 😡
Thanks for great video as always.
Those that know are seeing it finally come about.

I hate to bring this up, but "institutional investors like Blackrock" being the only ones not beholden to Iger... that company has its own agenda, which has contributed to the recent Disney failures.
Incredible reporting Andre. Well done
Close down Disney! Corruption gone wild!
It is just more demoncrat infighting.
i just hope the massive pendalum is swinging backtwards the middle.
A CEO that doesn't want to carry out the job description, and a Board of Directors that also doesn't want to carry out the job description, sound more like a club, a MIckey Mouse Club than a Publicly listed company.
Mickey moused. A bad cheap job. Was used in the late 80s at the least.
Should President Biden and Congress just nationalize Disney at this point to stop this nonsense?
Which raises questions as to just how effective ME's and the rest of these Anti-SJW channels have been. This many years on, and Wokeness still maintains a stranglehold over most of our institutions

Nothing like some kompromat to control a large company like Disney.
Iger built a board made of bobble-head dolls. Bob speaks, they nod. The blackrocks involved liked what Iger said, so they paid the bills.
Mickey reflected in liquid reads: "wicked"
They're going to replace him with Kathleen Kennedy.
God save us all if that happens...
As stupid as they are, they won't be stupid enough to try that.
Willow Bay... As in "Will Obey"?
There was a moment where it seemed like he was putting feelers out for a Presidential run.
Ugh. 😢
my favorite part is how they wear "representation" on thier sleeves but in reality they dont believe any of it. Thier beliefs are as hollow as the rainbow month backgrounds.
I think the board bent over FORWARD for Big Bob.
The shareholders are idiots and they get what they deserve. They had a chance to write the ship, they chose not to.
It may be a little difficult for Dana Walden to replace Bob Iger as CEO , if she's sitting in a cell in GITMO for rigging that debate. 😊
Would laugh if Walden pulls a "Et tu Brute" on Iger down the road.
The only way forward is for them to fully collapse and the broken pieces are sold off.
Disney's stock price has been falling for years. The stock price has risen only when Bob Chapek was CEO and when Norman Peltz threatened to join Disney's board of directors -- that is, when there was a prospect of reducing Iger's influence within the company.
I think the Sarbanes-Oxleys (many counts) and stock price manipulations (2 counts) should worry Iger more.
*Make America Great Again!*

Igor's timing makes sense when you look at the dates and remember this then Presidential aspirations.
Excellent video🙌🏾
It’s obvious that it’s the chairmanship that’s keeping Iger from a stint in the stony lonesome. He’s hoping to exit the job Walt Disney style to get out of that.
I heard Kathleen Kennedy is the one who put this Times piece out. She may be seeking retribution.
Backstabbing the scumbag that let you run a studio into the ground as you pleased, typical woman moment.
Retribution? It looks like she was given free reign to do whatever, with no oversight. Revenge for the cancellation of the Acolyte when it was all on her?
Wait... that does make a sick kind of sense from what I've seen of her management style. "Why did you let me destroy this company!" feels on brand.
