This was so helpful. I have had the regular East/West for about 2 years and have decided it was a mistake. It’s a stunning looking bag but due to the way the chains are attached it’s hard to get things in and out and it holds a lot less than I imagined by looking at it. After watching this I think I would be much happier with the large Soft one. It looks similar in size to the Aspinal Large Lottie which is one of my most used bags. It’s very inconvenient of them to have discontinued the East/West Baguette. That’s a brilliant little bag and very roomy for a clutch. I must tell you. I finally bought a Lady Dior. It’s 10 years old but looks brand new and is in the medium size in the most stunning magenta lambskin, one of my favourite colours. It’s my retirement present to self and I will be wearing it on Christmas Day.

I’ve got a DeMellier bag and while it’s good quality, I do think Strathberry’s is higher. I don’t have a polene but the one time I’ve seen one in person I’d say it was higher quality that DeMellier but not quite Strathberry level.

This brand is just everything. Have you seen the lizard in the Oat color? I picked up my nano tote in Oat Lizard and with that gold hardware...WOW. They do croc and lizard in such a premium look and texture. If I didn't already have an oat/mushroom midi tote I'd consider that in oat lizard...I may need an oat lizard stylist bag? 😂 I was also influenced by Princess Kate's vanilla nano mosaic she just wore as well! So darling Now I'm just trying to decide between the bottle green and black east west...everyone needs another black bag, but the green is just so eye catching 😅 Anyway, thanks for providing all the Strathberry content it's the best!!
I’m right there with you on so many of these points! I have the olive green hobo and wished I’d gone with the mushroom burgandy combo. When the gold lizard drops in the new year I’m getting the wallet on chain that Kate has in a couple colors and I’m very tempted by the mini mosaic in vanilla. My SA and I had a video call where she showed it to me and I’m in love! I have the stylist and love it so I highly recommend it! And go for the bottle green!

I have to wait on Santa to unbox my vanilla nano mosaic and burgundy croc east west, but best Christmas ever!! lol There are so many possibilities with new and existing color combinations! I bought the large size mosaic last month and it still looks like a small bag but holds a surprising amount of stuff, as much as my Pochette Métis. It’s a great everyday bag and I highly recommend it.

I am stuck between the East West Soft Mini and the Multrees Hobo - I was wondering what you thought between the two! The regular East West Soft is so spacious but it might be too big on my frame.
I really like both bags. I think security would be a big decider on this. The hobo doesn’t feel as secure because there are openings on each side of the flap. That being said, I think the soft mini is a cuter shoulder bag but prefer the hobo crossbody. The leather is the same on both bags. Color might also be a deciding factor depending on what you’re looking for.
The website says East/West mini fits an iPhone pro max, but there’s a slight bulge at the side when you do. Some won’t be bothered but it’s a shame because all it needed was a centimetre (1/4 inch) more width to fit perfectly.
It’s also such a tight fit that it was difficult getting the phone out. I drop my phone enough as is so I don’t need to be worrying about struggling to pull it from my bag as well 😂

I think it really depends on how much you carry/want to carry. The mini will be a bit smaller than what you carry now. I think at 5’4 the bigger one will look fine as my mom tried it on and it wasn’t too big on her (she’s 5’4 as well).
@pijanaxxpowietrzem the bottle green is really beautiful in person in the soft leather. If that’s the color you’re drawn to then go for it in the size it comes in!
For me the regular soft size was too big and did not hang well on me (I’m 5’2 100lbs). It did hit well on my mother (5’4 170lbs). I personally would go with the mosaic.
Do you have your source for them intentionally having the soft be in between sizes? I have the normal east west in desert. Just ordered the burgundy in the east west soft!
This was from a conversation with the showroom manager at the townhouse in Edinburgh. I normally do all my purchases through her, but in this case I think the softs I ordered came from Saks?
They are both small leather goods from Hermes. The calvi is more of a card holder that I use for gift cards and business cards. The Bastia is more of a coin pouch but I use it to keep hair bands, Bobby pins, bandaids, safety pins, and a tool to repair picks in sweaters.
So the blush is same leather as my tri color and that hasn’t scratch. It’s genuine leather so unless it’s a deep gauge you should be able to buff it out. I think most of the blush bags are currently in the mid season sale 10-30% off.
