My first ever real concert absolutely made up that Madness took my cherry!!!!! This was an early 40th birthday present!! I've been brought up with these guys, I've see tributes but to be taken to see and hear them live!!!! Still buzzing 3days later!!
Thank you so much for uploading this concert. I read the review in the Guardian and I just had to get a Madness fix. The way it has been filmed makes me feel that I'm in the arena. It brings back so many lovely memories. They were always a great live act back in the day. I remember seeing them for the first time in 1979 as part of a benefit gig at the Hammersmith Palais with The Specials, Bad Manners, John Cooper-Clarke - what a night! Thanks again - I've been dancing and singing along to the whole thing.
VERRY GOOD,,, I remember seeing slade. at dewsbury town hall... for 50pence. decimalisation had just come in,,, so it was quite a lot of brass then,,,, heeeee.... had me brut aftershave on.... cool.!!
Madness were my idols back in the day, I saw them play at Bradford St George's hall in 1980 supported by The Bodysnatchers and again at Manchester G Mex in 1993. To be honest though although its just the one band member I think they really miss Chas Smash and just don't feel the same without him. Its not on the same scale as say The Specials without Dammers and Staples but there's certainly a lack of spring in their step along with a slowing of pace, not the bouncy up beat ska of yesterday unfortunately but still entertaining all the same especially if its the first time round for someone.
Was in my home town of Plymouth monday evening met Lee had a pic taken with him and he signed my fez have seen them many many times im a life long fan from the beginning when i was 12 in 1979 awesome as always
