    I almost missed the March 1st Deadline to apply for our 2024 Florida Homestead Exemption. If you missed the deadline for 2024 then make sure you go ahead and apply online now for next year ASAP.

    Michael and Tiffany, THANK YOU for all this handy and necessary information!! For you to take the time to explain in such detail, along with going over the websites visually, is such an awesome way to show folks (especially those of us who are visual learners) how to navigate it all. Very kind of you! Thank you!

    Hi Michael and Tiffany! Love all your videos! Just curious if you ever sold your RV motor home yet? Do you miss anything from RV life? Thanks for the informative and entertaining channel.

      Thanks! We still own the RV… for now. There are some things we miss about full time RV life but we love our home in The Villages! We will still travel and do lots of road trips and cruises.

    I have been told that when you turn age 65 you pay NO property tax??? Is this true?? Your videos are very informative. Thanks

    Just a warning, waiting until the last minute can cost you. One complication I had was that my home is deeded in the name of my revocable trust. That's still doable, but 1) it also requires sending them a copy of your trust (which may mean you can't do it online), and 2) your trust needs to have some Florida-specific language in it -- so my trust created in another state had to be updated by an estate attorney to add the correct clause before I was eligible. Especially in a retirement community like The Villages I'd expect it's not particularly unusual for people's home to be owned by their trust.

    Mike what makes you a legal resident.. Heard it is 6 months and a day. Still have a place up north too.

      Yes plus you have to declare Florida as your primary residence. Here is a link to an article with more info. www.greaterftmyers.com/establishing-florida-residency

    I will have to admit it that out of all the Village UA-camrs I giggle as all your photos screenshot intros of each of your Videos are of your huge Smile and Grin lol. You guys have to be the happiest of all the Village UA-camrs. Only thing I think I disagree with you is taking the bus from Brownwood to Airport. I love driving to Orlando to take my guests to and from the airport. It's good to get out on the road.

    Does this have to be done each year?

    • @MichaelTiffanyTVE
      @MichaelTiffanyTVE  9 місяців тому +1

      Great question! No. You just need to apply the first year you live in your home. You can not have a Homestead Exemption on 2 properties at the same time. But you can port over the exemption from one home to another if you sell and buy another home in The Villages or elsewhere in Florida. You would then need to fill out a form to port to your new home.
