Yep you are right they tried it on the sand box server (nerfing accuracy and penetration) and after the sandbox server they just introduced patch after patch a (new) tank which gun stats are bad

Player feedback was 99% negative on the moving of the 263 to tier 9. Wargaming moves it anyway. It's good to know that Wargaming listens to player feedback.

The small number of players that still play that shit 263 were vocal, boo hoo. Oh well now we get a reliable tank with better armor. Nice change from wargaming, that line was dead.

They have the misinformed idea that people hated the entire line, so they tried reinventing the entire thing instead of trying to give the rest of the line the same feel as the 263.

The 263 is not a bad TD or an OP one. But is amazing because is hard to mastery and the reward for playing well has no price. That's why I'm so triggered for WG nerfing it. (-_-)

Its almost like wargaming is going to slowly make it impossible to hit weakspots with the accuracy, and if they remove weakspots then your only option is to spam premium ammo in hopes to pen anything frontally.
Honestly why did people not like the obj 263? I love the thing, it can brawl fairly well and snipe like a boss with that dpm I love it

Jin Jin I went into a training room and got penned consistently in the lower plate at range by my friend in an SU-122-44 using AP. People just need to learn how to aim. Even then, I’ve never heard anyone complain about this thing because it’s fairly uncommon. Probably just WG being stupid again.

Jin Jin I suppose. I just always go on tanks.gg or some other website and look at the model to see where I can pen tanks that are frustrating me. Sometimes there’s just no penning certain tanks frontally, but I never got the impression from playing/Fighting this thing that this was one of those cases. Most people can’t be bothered to do some research though I guess.

Well I’m very disappointed in this tank... I went down the obj 263 line specifically for the higher rate of fire mid-high alpha on the guns and the accuracy and armor It’s sad all the Russian tanks are now pretty much the same flavor now, unless they somehow come out with a new TD line (they will most likely) which has the 263 at its former glory and accuracy and rate of fire I won’t be happy with this change
And it figures they nerf the shit out of the 263 JUST as I start to research it......
Sadly, the only real chance of there being another Russian TD line is if they introduce the Obj 120, SU-152P, etc, and make a turreted TD line. Have to agree that the changes suck, this change was unnecessary, and more importantly, pretty much the entire community cried out against it, but WG just plugged their ears and started going Lalalalalalalalala like a little toddler trying to ignore someone.

Trashing one of the most unique TD lines in the game to make way for more uninteresting, low skill cap, TD clones. I have both the 263 and the 122-54 and love them both. But I feel once this goes live, I’ll have a couple extra Russian crews (even invested a full girl crew in the 263 because I loved it so much)

Tier 10 TD: 650 alpha. Tier 6 HT: 700 alpha. I am talking about the KV 2 with ap and the derp. And soviet logic: the less you aim, the more acurate you will be. Aplays to every soviet tenk [:)))))].
It's like how the 105 on tier IVs, like the hetzer, get more alpha than others, like the Dicker Max. I'd love to see a D.max with an extra 50 dmg per shot on average.
OI can dish that out at tier 6 as well and with standard rounds with 121 pen

"Lacking, disappointing, rather bad." I'm very bummed about this tank. Lacking the alpha and or DPM. So what if it's semi-fast? You can get into trouble faster than the rest of your team. I already have the 263, and frankly, I can't help but to feel very let down by its replacement.

I hope you realize that on you/our service records, we have obj. 263B's. ...What the actual f*ck?? WG will put it in our service records but not give it to us as a reward vehicle. The obj. 263 is my only current tier 10 tank and its getting replaced with a tank I despise. I absolutely adore my 263 and its just going to be gone.They are doing the same with the 430U also and I like the 430U, but again, why cant the people who have the 430 get it as a award vehicle? They did it for 3 other tanks already, and its less content from WG which if they realized it will actually hurt their game as I'm going to leave this game if we cannot have a 263 reward vehicle. Is it too much for WG to add the letter 'B' after a name? It just doesn't make sense Why WG would trash a vehicle that is famous and replace it with a tank that some of us don't like, but if we got a 263B(award vehicle) I would be completely fine. Also this is proof WG doesn't give a single flying f*ck about its community. I know the chances of anyone actually careing about my opinion is 0-none, but maybe if WG actually listened we could be happy.

If this change makes it to the live server as is... I'm going to uninstall the game in its entirety.
I went through the trouble of grinding to the Object 263 as my first non-arty Tier X precisely because it was so different from all the other TD's in the game. High mobility, decent armor and fantastic DPM on a vehicle that isn't dependent upon big alpha. I wanted a vehicle that made me think about what I was doing before I committed to doing it... it was a vehicle that is a challenge to make work, but rewarding when you could make it work.
Now they are switching it out with something that... quite frankly comes across as mind numbingly generic. And I am really hating them for it. I would much rather they scraped up a few more tanks to make a new tech tree branch with.
The 268 crap version 4 is so generic and like you said, the 263 requires a brain to play correctly and reward the player for being smart. But Wg just said "fuck you" for the player base and murdered the Object 263. Now we have a boring one at tier 10 and the wort TD at tier 9. The worst part that triggers me is the people liking it this changes.

It is worth noting that even though I am an arty player, and openly proclaimed myself as such, I had a 1K+ upvote rating on the forums before they removed the downvotes. I always advocated raising the skill floor for artillery via a straight up rework of arty aim mechanics and did my best to warn players that the Arty Rework was going to make light and medium tank drivers absolutely miserable.
Also, the reason I chose to main arty was because I have significant nerve damage in my hands, with makes most first person shooters all but impossible for me to play at any level.
Even then, I did start branching out into other vehicle lines long before the Arty rework was announced.... hell, I actually enjoyed the 263 grind when most give up after unlocking the VII or VIII.

look at the aiming circle while he moves his gun, it doesnt get any bigger, and if it does, it is fully aimed in a splitsecond. + that OP armour... man this is gonna be a hell of a tank in 7-5-3 mm.
it sure does not have the accuracy, but that doesnt really matter that much with the russian RNG
didnt really feel like that when i tried it on the testserver did consecutive rounds with 5k+ dmg in it. (not insane but i just went in and tried what this tank can do, snapshotting the weakspots and stuff like that.
Did you not see 290mm plate?
do you not see the 100mm upper hull plate? this tank cannot facehug, cannot snipe, cannot a turn fight and must use gun depression to maximize angle on that upper plate. Almost forgot the weakspot of the periscope that demands you to always turn or sidescrape left corners. There's just so few situation that it can shine in, especially compare to the 263 which can do everything

-Prenium shells do less damage than normal AP shells
-Matchmaking is only one tier high or down. Meaning you dont see Tier 10 and tier 6 in tier 8 vehicle.
-Smaller and quick match; Less camp-offs than PC.
-Some what preserved old tech tree; No fancy stuff like obj bullshit, Just classic tech tree tanks with *some* fantasy award tanks, But it adds to diversity and is not overpowered.
-Actually balancing some things. They did what PC couldnt. THEY NERFED SOVIET MEDIUMS. ALL OF THEM. WE CAN PEN THEIR FRONT, EVEN THE TURRET! ITS AMAZING!

Well yeah I think its better too(overpowered even) but I grinded the 430 line for the DPM and now its basically the opposite gameplay. I cant even get to the 430u because the 416 (which Im currently at) wont even lead to it....

Im starting to go for the Russian bias in this game... I have E 75 with a good crew in it and the top gun. Its supposed to have a little bit better dispersion than the IS3. But here is the catch: When ever I try to snapshot accurate shots in to cupolas etc my E 75 always misses by going too high or off to the side. When I try this same with IS3 it hits 75% of the time. How is this possible when the IS3 is supposed to have shittier stats and accuracy on the gun stats? Someone please explain this to me.
I forgot to add up the fact that my IS3 crew isnt even at 100% yet. Still it somehow manages to shoot more accurately those snap shots?

It's easy to figure out, vivik. Is because of the hidden stats. While the E75's gun in the fully aimed circle has x% to hit the middle, the is3 (and all other russians) has like 75% more chance to hit the middle portion.
Russian bias is incredibly obvious in this game and is ridiculous. Russian tanks couldn't even scratch the Germans in reality, meanwhile in-game is the exact opposite.
Is-3 was unable to penetrate Tiger 2's front armor, the only way to go trough with bl-9 is to crack the welded areas of tiger 2's front by constantly hitting and bouncing off. Yet in-game Tiger 2 is paper. This game is a bad joke, nothing more. Totally unpalatable.

The tank looks strong, but I maintain this is a step backwards in terms of variety. The high ROF of the 263 allows experienced players to take more chances, and so sometimes you would have those amazing, seat-of-the-pants type games that makes it all worth it. All I am seeing is they dumbed it all down with the 268 v.4. Sure, it will be more accessible, but at the cost of variety in the game.

but yeah, agree with you on other points. the 263 is a multi-dimensional tank, it can snipe, brawl, face hug, change flanks and generally do everything if you play it's strengths. This is a uni-dimensional tank, you can try to brawl in it, but that's all. Plus, the 263 might do a better job in that category too.
The TD nobody who played the 263 asked for, the TD nobody who didn't play the tech tree asked for. So what's the point of this tank? Why on earth are they so hell-bent on replacing a tank that the players like?

Nice Storm technically they do have normal weak spots. Obj 430 U lower plate, Obj705A lower plate, Obj2684 Upper and lower plates are 100 mm if the tank is not on even ground you can pen those plates.
Atm i am on the teir 9 su12254 i dont really like the idea of the new teir 10 having a 152 that only does 650 avrg yet has worse reload than the 268 that does 750 avrg they need to ether buff the reload on the new teir 10 or buff the damage per shot to match the 268 or leave the gun the same as on the 263 which has much better dpm and accuracy 0.43 on a teir 10 td with a gun of that caliber is just stupid my death star has better accuracy

why couldn't they replace the regular 268? That thing is terrible and no fun to play.
It feels like WG has no long-term vision for what the game is going to become a few more years down the line. The past several updates have had a bunch of ridiculous balance changes, and looking at them all together doesn't make any sense. The only consistent thing is that more tanks are getting heavy armor in every patch. Other than the increasing armor all we have are bizarre buffs to tanks that don't need it while tanks like the T-34-2 have been completely ignored, along with a bunch of redesigns to tanks that are already fine. It really boggles the mind to think about some of these changes because it's impossible to figure out what WG actually considers to be an appropriate power level for a tier 10 tank. The balance is all fucked up, and they never actually buff the things that need buffed, because they're too busy trying to "make armor relevant again" (by forcing people to spam HEAT) to actually consider how their changes affect game balance.

I like how QB has been around tanks for who knows how long and his job is centered around a game dedicated to tanks yet he still doesn’t know the difference between a cupola and a range finder.
WG has never hid what the plan for the line in how the new Tier 10 is supposed to be a close range brawler with the ability to flex across the map. It was never meant to snipe with high damage bombs at render range.

@QuickyBaby, I have an idea for a video for you. Something related to how insanely good players can be as good as they are. You for example have a WN8 of around 3,300, yeah? I think that's very impressive. However, I (RealBadNoob) recently played against a player who had 11K games and had a WN8 of 4700. I usually only see WN8's that high on people who have 5K games or less. Now, 11K isn't a ton of games by any means, but to maintain a 4500+ WN8 for 11K games is insane. And the account isn't brand new, either, it was made in 2015. The name was BailesNoBezmiega. Granted, I did some searching and I see there are other names very similar to this, simply with a different suffix, possibly other accounts he used for practice? But that's what I want to know. Like, are they using mods most people don't? Do they have some special routine/practice they go through? Is this a more seasoned reroll account? Or is he legitimately just that good? His win% I believe is 67% as well, meaning he doesn't just farm WN8, he genuinely tries to win - A LOT. Maybe he spent hours learning the maps and good positions, or the weakness of every tank? I feel like there's a lot to be gained and many tips to be given in a video like this. But it's just food for thought. Love the channel. Played a game with you one time on the NA server a couple years ago. We dominated. Keep up the great work!
RBN If you learn very fast(like I do), 2000 WN8 isn't too hard for around 5k battles but most people in WoT learns slower than that. It also depends about tanks, luck, mm, server, about so many things but skill is still the main factor. He is a reroll for sure but I am not saying it would be impossible to get stats like that with only that amount of battles. My tips would be to trust in yourself no matter other people say and keep learning and challenging yourself. Don't be aware of trying new things, even things no any other people does!

The Obj. 263 was the reason I am going down that TD line... I like the look and the gun and I wanted that at tier X...
I love this tank. It fits my play style perfectly. Get around quick, dont take much damage, and shoot people in the face

Well they used to be as powerfull as 170mm Jgpz E100's gun since they had 850 alpha, yes every 150mm+ (only TD) could do 1k dmg with half of the Jgpz's reload time.... so yes they are not "big" anymore.
263 is a beast and shouldn't be replaced.

Dear WG, why does your track traverse formula count so hard against T10 tanks? It makes no sense that the 268v4 has such worse effective traverse vs the 263. The concept of a multiplier based on (Current engine HP/Stock engine HP) makes a bit of sense for improving tanks as they upgrade, but it makes NO sense at T10 when there are no engine upgrades and the multiplier goes back to 1. Either the formula needs to be tweaked or some of the T10 tanks need it buffed to accommodate for the maths.

As someone who enjoys the 263, I feel that the new 'personality' of this line has changed a bit too drastically.
I might petition WG to put the 130mm on the V4 and stick with playing the original 268.

Here's what you get when they balance everything around premium ammo... You're forced to use it, now, or you can't do shit.
They really need to flat out remove premium ammo from the test server so vehicles can be designed around non-wallet-emptying standard ammo.
I thought it was supposed to be a short to mid-range assault tank, and WG did not want it to take the sniping role? Hence the poor accuracy. God knows how that is going to be more popular than the old "low Alpha/high dpm" snipers they used to be, but hey, what do I know?
