- The plaintiff says she met the defendant at church and loaned him money to attend a funeral out of town. He still hasn’t repaid her, so she’s suing him. The defendant says the plaintiff offered the money, and they never discussed repayment.

A lot of conartist go to church to prey on easy victims. The defendant is one of those. He took the money, he owes the money and the worst is he has no shame about his attitude. The people of his church should keep an eye out on him

Awe poor lady, even if he thought it was a gift and there was no specific amount to pay back, he should have paid her back something. You don't use someone because you can, especially when someone is trying to help you out through a difficult time, and everyone is struggling to make it out here. I think it's safe to say, just because someone goes to church it doesn't necessarily mean they are honest and forthcoming. Totally agreed with the judge's verdict!

The defendant is a user. They were friends. Whether he thought it was a loan or not she was there in his hour of need. If it came to the point that someone was taking me to court I would try and come to some agreement with then, meet halfway. Especially at one point he says that he has his own money. Well why are you mooching off her then? She should have been ready and caught up on her sleep in the car. I think he is a devious grifter because he recorded the phone message and mentioned the tyres being a gift and mentioned court, so it was as if he was manufacturing a piece of admissible evidence.
The shameless goof has no qualms about abusing her kindness. He even admitted he had the money..!! But wanted her to pay for everything! Yes...the recorded call was a sick ploy. What a leech!

I think he is just cheap, nothing more. I remember babysitting for my music teacher from school and her husband (a music professor), who only lived across the street. That man cheated me every way possible out of the small amount of babysitting money I was 'supposed' to make, claiming not to have any cash on him, or not enough change to pay me. Yes, people are so cheap they would rip off a 12-year old.
I remember those people too! People who hired you to babysit their two children and when you get there, they have added another family, “since we already have a babysitter for ours”. Or come in at 10:25 and only pay until 10:00. Or, best of all, not have cash on them to pay!

I would never take money from anyone unless it was an emergency. If I felt that I had to take the money it would be paid back as soon as possible. I hate being in anybody's debt and I hate the feeling that I cannot make it alone.

It seems that manipulators often manufacture an excuse not to fulfill their obligations, sometimes for something as illogical as "He dis-respected me," or "Well, her son owed me money, so I kept hers."

Spent 5 years in a relationship where my ex sat on the couch and tried to become a video game youtuber while I worked long hours to support us. Only to find out he hadent been growing it and actually working it. Only pretending to be on live streams and what not. Both genders are capable of manipulating for money. I should have seen it, but of course the things you do for the people you love.

"Every charity/NGO in Uganda is supposed to be registered by the Uganda government a process which takes about 6 months and requires one to pay a fee. Most people don't go past that step. You are required to have an office/physical address and can't be registered without it. So check for that . An charity should at least 6 members by Uganda law and has to atleast as accomplish atleast some of the activities it states while registering. If it's an orphanage and has not helped even one orphan you can refer to then most likely it's fake.
Most genuine orphanage charities in Uganda are run by church based organization. The ones run by individuals usually end up embezzling funds. Though some are genuine.
Best thing to do is to get someone on ground to do some snooping for you to verify the authenticity of the organisation"

Because they’re government is corrupt as well, they can simply pay to be registered; the main problem is that they often steal children , hold them captive and claim that they are poor orphans. They have learned how to scam their way into donations; the problem with real charities is that the people of Africa almost never see that money . And if they do, it’s generally only enough for a few bags of measly rice - the rest of the money goes to the pockets of the so called organization . This whole world is corrupt smh

He had the money. She offered to pay as long as she came along. She never agreed to a price of what would be paid back. When she decided she no longer wanted to have him in her life she began asking for all of that money. Then she got mad because because she couldn't be ready on time and he backed out because he didn't want to be in all of that traffic and didn't want to risk fallling asleep at the wheel. She actually tried to ruin his reputation in the church by bringing the pastor into this. I feel like she felt she could buy his affection and when it didn't work she got upset. He also figured out what kind of person she was which is why he said that he could prove it in court. Paying something to her would've been the right thing to do, but when someone pushes that onto you without even saying pay me back so much money. His statement at the end is correct. "You don't offer somebody a gift and look for something back in return." I believe she is probably the type of christian woman who does good to try and make people help her in return by holding the good thing she did over their head.
