Have you considered trying Fox Blocks HV Clips instead of foam gluing the blocks? Sure does make it a LOT less hassle if you have to take the blocks apart to fix a mistake.
I have only had to bust out 3 blocks out of the hundreds I have put in. And I don't have to pay for the clips or clip them in :) The only reason why I put a little foam in is because of the high winds. We have had micro burst winds up to 70 mph. And I don't want them to blow down my walls that are not filled with concrete yet.
You don't need the clips with these. These "studs" are 6" on center. You would not be able to use 8" clips horizontally. I did not use the foam adhesive in the field, only around windows, doors, and weak areas. I used scrap wood on the outside in many places too. Since this is so high internal fasteners like long zip ties might make sense in some weaker areas like lintels and corners, broken blocks, etc.
That's a good option too. I like the foam because I live in an area that has micro bursts and the wind gusts can be in the 60-70 mph range. I know of other ICF homes that had there blocks that were not filled with concrete blow down. It makes a huge mess.
Does your family have good genetics???? Bc, your parents are pretty old, and at this point I'm getting concerned that they will even be around to enjoy this build!!!!???????
Nice to see someone else likes taking on huge projects. Looking good.
Thanks 😊 It's nice to know that I am building it for my posterity for generations to come ☺️

It is taking awhile 😂
But my mom's dad made it almost to 90. And my Dad's mom is currently 94 and going strong. And her sister made it to 101.
When you build an amazing structure like this, it takes time, but it's worth it. It will last for hundreds of years-- maybe more.
