Im seeing a lot of PL and history being mentioned which shows me how little i knew of the literal Vtuber that brought me in the rabbit hole by overslepping and a generation that has been through a lot, but one i enjoy dearly. Including the revelation of info concerning Luna allows me to see why I was drawn to both of them as my first JPmems along with Nene. I try to leave PL(Past & Private Life) stuff wherever the person wants it to be, but im glad to see that they have made a place for themselves and floursihed in it.

Upd8 was the biggest vtuber company before it collapsed and her ... less than stellar experience with upd8 stirred her away from joining Nijíanji, which turned out to be the correct decision.

Her past self had a heartbreaking graduation stream but luckily she came back and outright better than before.

It doesn’t mean that “netaite” only do joke songs; it’s just what the community calls them as. It’s like calling someone an “internet troll vsinger” in an endearing way.

Never really thought about it, but come to think of it it’s been long enough that new Holofans might not know that in terms of experience Polka is on the level of gen 0.
Gen 0 is a confusing term because not all of them debuted first. Better to compare with the daisenpai (Sora, Roboco, Suisei).
Im happy to have her, she clearly has an experience in hosting and comedy that really shows in her physical bits and through even just talking. When the joke that the holo idols aren’t idols but comedians, I see Polka in my head and that’s great quality right there.

Im seeing a lot of PL and history being mentioned which shows me how little i knew of the literal Vtuber that brought me in the rabbit hole by overslepping and a generation that has been through a lot, but one i enjoy dearly. Including the revelation of info concerning Luna allows me to see why I was drawn to both of them as my first JPmems along with Nene. I try to leave PL(Past & Private Life) stuff wherever the person wants it to be, but im glad to see that they have made a place for themselves and floursihed in it.

This explanation is a bit of a stretch of truth, because it makes zero mention of her being a content creator, streamer, and vtuber prior to joining Hololive. She’s a veteran who’s been around far long than even Kizuna Ai. A lot of context is intentionally excluded here.
At 3:38 she does mention that she’s done a lot of circus practice and acted as an entertainer before, but yeah it’s pretty oblique.

Upd8 was the biggest vtuber company before it collapsed and her ... less than stellar experience with upd8 stirred her away from joining Nijíanji, which turned out to be the correct decision.
