RC ADVENTURES - Building a Backyard Scale Trail Course - Tips, Tricks & Ideas

  • Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - Building a scale trail 4x4 or 6x6 off road crawler course technically CAN be done in a single day, but truly is a work of evolution over a period of time. The way to get a crawler course.. is to simply start building. These courses can be any size, large - or small. I want to take a moment to thank all of my friend and RC family who came out to the RCSparks Studio Ranch today to give me a hand in bringing a good start to the scale park. Everyone put in a good days work and ample creativity to get we accomplished today.
    I filmed this experience to help give viewers some ideas about what can be done at home, for a rather little amount of money. In fact, if you need an excuse to get out and clean up the yard.. this is it! Everything you scavenge can be used to build your own backyard radio control truck park. Imagination is the key to your success, and finding your resources will become easy! So many folks have written to me over the years and say "There is nothing about RC around my area". My answer has always been - then build your own! If you build it.. they will come :) All styles of RC terrain can be used.. and over time, you are going to see THiS track evolve. I have some really neat plans that I know you will all continue to enjoy.. and will make for some great RC ADVENTURES! Your imagination and suggestions will be used as well. Feel free to leave comments, and we may use an idea! Lots of fun to come in the upcoming months..
    Thank you for tuning in today, and be sure to check out my friends UA-cam channels - RC ATHLETES ( / damedcamera , and CHRiS RAPPEL ( / cwr2011rc .

    PALLETS are awesome the most versatile resource in a backyard crawlers dream.. They can be taken apart and the planks used for many different obstacles 👍😆😀

      You don't have the right to do stuff on the ground you rent in the US😮 If you rent a house in Germany, you can treat it like it's your property with some exceptions.

    I am in the woods (Upper Pen Michigan) with so many trees that there's nearly no sun so there's no grass, only moss. The other cool thing is that I have a crap ton of rocks/boulders over every square inch of my 2 acres with very little useable dirt. I am planning on starting about a 1/4-1/2 acre track this spring. I already have a huge rock wall and even rock stairs that should make it easy to get started. Can't hardly wait! I have an Axiel, Traxxass, Banchee and a few others I am looking forward to running this summer on the new trails! =)

    I would never dis because of it, but I do agree with less wood thing (for me), especially when one has the room and the bigger toys to use. My course is small and unfinished due to wanting to keep the terrane "real" if you will. BUT, everything RCS does is awesome, how can one fault the guy living the dream, keep em coming.

    Awesome starter ideas with the pallets as a solid base to build elevation. I have plans to build one with my boys at our home in Florida. Our biggest problem is the sand, it does not hold together. I plan on adding a truck load or so of clay just to give us some base. Thanks for all your vids. I find them very informative and entertaining.

      @TheRealRCSparks  8 років тому

      I owe the pallets idea to my friend, Crawler Ted. He used to run a rock crawling group.. and they used pallets to pile rocks high. Make sure to screw them together! Haha ;) Good luck on your build with your son - my friend, and thanks for commenting!

    That looks awesome Medic. I have been doing the same sort of thing myself in my backyard in preparation for when I get my honcho. I'm just using rocks, bits of broken concrete, bricks, paving stones and some other bits and pieces I have found around the yard of on the side of the road.

  • @scottfirman
    @scottfirman 8 років тому

    That turned out to be an awesome project,not something everyone can do unless you have the material,but if you have acess to a trailer and a number 2 shovel,the sky is the limit. Pallets are free plus most of that other stuff can be had free also. One mans junk is another mans obsticle course. I live in a trailer park but they have a construction dump out back that makes a natural course. Concrete,wood,brush,dirt piles,you name it. Even some natural hill climbs not far from that,complete with rocks and gravel.

    • @TheRealRCSparks
      @TheRealRCSparks  8 років тому

      AWESOME ATTITUDE, Scott! That's exactly what this video was made to show. If a person is willing to but a little work in.. most material we used here was free! Old Junk Tires, Sticks, Stones, some twine, old plastic.. it all comes together for a great little scale track!
