I pull wrenches for a living, but last year, just a day after Christmas, a buddy asked me to help him with a torch on roof. After 3 days of shoveling yards of snow off that rooftop, shredding what felt like miles of old tar paper and then pulling my shoulder muscle trying to get OFF that roof, I eventually told my friend that I was not designed to work off the ground. I'm made to be laid out, on my back, covered in grease and swearing like a convict when I smash up another knuckle on my hands! To the roofers out there, I say thank you for doing a job, that I won't ever do again!!
I roofed for 12 years then another 10 doing rooftop solar..... This shit made me laugh till I cried!! I've seen so many big tough ass dudes just not be able to get around on steeper roofs. They get super mad cuz it's the only trade where the scrawny dudes win every time.
You're lucky as hell I wasn't your EMT buddy from school. I'd been on the intercom at the ER blasting some Dangerous Toys- Sportin' a Woody for ya. Glad you survived the hospital streakin', so you could supply us with the Moccasin Creekin'!
I turn wrenches now but I used to be roofer. I did asphalt shingles, torch down, cedar shake, tile, vinyl, rubber, hot tar. From flat roofs to 16/12. It's no joke and I give props to those that continue to do it.
Did roofing for 12 years and I seen two guys damn near fall same way because the dew was actually frost so the vise grip tongs slid as soon as they stood onto the ladder section

Hahaha I roofed for 28plus yrs. I'm not big on metal roofs. I do like the shingals roofs. I never fell off roof but fuckin latters they ain't my friends. Fell off many latter's. Never notta as bad as u,glad u got well or u would of never done what u have in music. Love y'alls peace Dj
After getting a call from my oldest son, 40 years of age, telling me he got hurt at work with fours breaks in his back in four places and four broken ribs, I can't describe the heart ach and worry that filled my very soul, I actually was able to laugh at the way you told your story. I needed that VERY much. Thank you. Personally, I think you found another tool to make people feel better in comedy. I edited this to include a request for prayers for my son Adam.
