In 1997, Steve Barton took on one of the title roles in the Vienna production of "Beauty and the Beast" ("Die Schöne und das Biest").
Later the same year, Barton created the role of Count von Krolock in Vienna's "Dance of the Vampires" ("Tanz der Vampire").
